Do you suppose the anti gouging laws have caused this?

I saw a TV "public service announcement" in California saying that if you knew anyone "price-gouging" you could turn them in to the government.

What happens when people have gas, but they can't charge what it costs them to deliver it? They keep it, or sell it cheaper nearby.

After the hurricane, with roads blocked, etc. it would obviously cost a great deal more to deliver gasoline to certain areas, especially if it has to come from further away. Who would take that risk if they can't recoup the extra cost? Easier to sell it for less in another area.

Another unintended consequence of ignorance about prices and the rules of economics. Some rules of economics are no more breakable than the rules of physics.

It's a video of Hitler and his generals pouring over a map, but it's subtitled and Hitler freaks out about the fact that there's no gas in Nashville. He wanted to go shopping etc. It's still probably worth downloading, even at that speed...LOL

Yes, I agree, it's totally planned. It's funny that the facilities that were destroyed by the hurricane only supply about 20% of the gas for this region, yet we have had a near 100% shortage. The math doesn't add up.... these bastards will do anything to get what they want...they especially like to play the fear card.
