POPPYCOCK
This article is agenda driven. Discrediting Ron Paul supporters is a sophomoric attempt to vicariously discredit Dr. Paul. The strategy, designed to paint Dr. Paul’s base as fringe, discourteous, profane, tin foil hatters, is underhanded, insidious and untrue. We have a right to voice our support in any and all political forums. Dr. Paul’s overwhelming support, whether straw polls, debate polls, campaign donations, online support or boots on the ground, appears to be unsettling and downright frightening to many. We are becoming increasingly difficult to marginalize. We grow stronger each and every day and I am proud to stand with all the Patriots involved in this R3VO_Iution.
I copied the paragraph below to illustrate the particular bias evinced by this author. The “TYPICAL E- MAIL “……give me a break. The assertion that Huckabee and Romney supporters are a kinder and gentler lot, who comport themselves with more professionalism and politeness, is an absolute fallacy. This guy is a fraud.
There are readers who support Huckabee. There are those who support Romney, and so on. They often write to GOPUSA and let us know of their support. In most cases, they do so with professionalism and politeness. They describe why they are FOR their candidate. On the flip side, the typical e-mail from a Ron Paul supporter often contains profanity and is filled with name-calling and attacks on the other candidates.

While I agree that civility
While I agree that civility is essential not just in the campaign but most everything else as well, this is just another guy blowing smoke at Paul's supporters because Paul himself cannot be attacked. Have you ever checked out what OTHER candidates' supporters have to say about Ron Paul? Singling us out as being rude or inflammatory is just B.S. Here's what I say: In the past year, Ron Paul's name has been mentioned in the MSM 1/10 as much as John McCain! Start giving him the air time he deserves, and see if we don't just suddenly become as sweet as tupelo honey. People get frustrated at continual unfair treatment. I'm quite frankly astonished that Dr. Paul is even running at all, considering his experience the last time he ran. Let's just get him elected and make him glad he did!

Do you really know if they are?
do you really know if they are legitamate supporters or people out there to hurt us? it had been documented that there have been news outlets who are purposely and obviously censoring him and it is because they recieve a lot of requests ... it is essential to be polite, but when people ignore you with the intention of censoring you, it is easy to get angry ...
when ron paul garnered 10% of the vote in Iowa after they declared 2 extra hours of recount due to the electronic diebold machines which malfunctioned ... many stations purposely censored him... they didn't "just forget" or "make a mistake"
best known example: Fox News skipping from 13 percent to 7 percent.
They seemed to choose to show Huckabee's 7% ... but Paul was nowhere to be seen.
He continually wins the cell phone text votes and is neglected as a cheater or hacker. They yelled and huffed and puffed about it saying you could redial and vote 100 times ... that was a blatant lie ... try it in the next debate
it is understandable why some people get angry and are willing to show it in order to get some attention ... however i as a longtime member here have not seen the majority of people here as angry and disrespectful.
and since when was polling ever really accurate anyway ... voter fraud has been going on forever ... anyone who knows anything about computers knows that it can be hacked 1,000 different ways ... it has even been cited in modern court cases ... to ignore that the diebold machines really work and they are wonderful ... would be just as equally irresponsible and false as Fox News likes to say "You Decide 2008".
No Fox, apparently ... you decide 2008
Take the Higher Ground
I have personally seen plenty of RP supporters that take things too far. It doesn't matter that people supporting other candidates are attacking with profanity. We have to take the higher ground.
Don't Rock The Boat?
This article is not supportive of the Ron Paul rEVOLution. It appears to be a hit piece by frightened water carriers of the NEO-CON establishment. Most of these so called rude supporters are a figment of the oppositions imagination aka their own invention.
These continued propaganda posts about allegeded bad behavior on the internet are really boring and a waste of time. Precisely what is the crime that has been committed? What Ron Paul supporters are too active? Care too much about their families? Believe in The United States Constitution? Want to live in a free nation and have an America first attitude about the world? They sound like true blue PATRIOTS to me.
Also let's put things in perspective Ron Paul supporters are being accused of spending time on the internet supporting the constitutional message of Ron Paul. Samuel Adams and his supporters ransacked and burned down British Governor Hutchinsons house in Boston.

I agree
You might say he has an agenda and that's fine. I'm sure he does get nasty emails from supporters of other candidates but obviously a lot more from RP supporters.
We have to remain classy.
This guy
is doing nothing but trying to make this movement look bad.
He says we combat and trash other republicans and we are all in this together,so chill out .
Don't the republican canidates in the primarys do nothing but trash each other in the TV ads?
This guy has an agenda IMHO

He makes a good point
On the other hand he specifically mentions this about Ron Paul, when there are just as many (though perhaps not as active) negative assholes blogging and posting for other candidates.
Civility is essential: absolutely true
You will probably get more people to read the linked piece if the headline for your thread is more descriptive. We certainly need to realize that we are past the stage where rudeness is necessary to get Dr. Paul coverage, and that we now have people willing to talk with us about his ideas, and that we need to do so.
I have some minor disagreements with the article, but the overall piece is worth reading, as the election of Dr. Paul does require that we engage people in discussions about him, and most people don't want to engage in discussions with people who are uncivil.
Yes to Civility and Lifting Ourselves Above the Fray
I strongly urge all of us to refrain from letting our passions of loyalty turn dark in ANY of our communications with others. I'm reposting here a post I made earlier today:
----------------------------
In support of our increased efforts to broaden the campaign for Dr. Paul, reviewing www.wwrpd.org regarding behavior and etiquette is a good starting point.
Most everyone is positive and professional, and only some create "blowback" from the general population and media by "in your face" confrontation.
On behalf of our efforts to step up the campaign, which will undoubtedly be accompanied by our increased passion, please remember the good doctor, and turn away from conflict -- keeping our eyes on the spirit of developing alliances of friendship with all.
-------------------------------
I vow to support and represent Dr. Paul to be best of my ability, and to stop and think before I hit that "Send" or "Submit" key.
