...through "in the middle of the night" (by which I mean when there isn't full attendance on the floor... whether that means at night or whenever the opportune moment occurs).

Most of us were afraid of that, I reckon.
Just to give you an idea of what we're up against, my family and I began fighting the Fed, IRS, etc., etc., etc., etc., more than 30 years ago. We lost pretty much everything except our clothing and some personal items. When my dad shared various aspects of paper money with the public (he even spoke at a high school or two), secret service agents were sent all the way to Rapid City, South Dakota, either to try to "discourage" Dad or actually kill him.
I'm still fighting for future generations; Mom and Dad are retired.

It's a game...
The question is how many of those Nay's were real Nay's and how many were holding out for some special attachment that they want.
The vote was too close to simply be dropped by the losers, they will negotiate and probably ultimately win unless we keep the pressure on, AND reward those who voted correctly, regardless of their original motivation.

they succeeded and will DROP the pressure... when instead it needs to be stepped up even more (because they're gonna pull out every trick they can find to get the Nay's to switch to Yea's).

Yes, I'm going to overgeneralize here but,
Bush Sr., Clinton and friends made a big beautiful bubble out of our market and called it prosperity.
Bush Jr. and friends (well mostly friends) managed to deflate this bubble rather than have it pop. Even after the bailout bill didn't pass and they tried to pop the bubble, some people seems to come to the rescue and the bubble merely deflated a bit (well so far).
I think the market should be stalled just a bit longer, then we'll be on pretty sound economic ground.
