Jon Stewart's "Daily Show" plugged Ron Paul
Submitted by October2007 on Mon, 09/29/2008 - 22:14
I was just watching the Daily Show and Stewart had a short skit where his correspondent, Samantha Bee pretended to belong to the "Citizens for Ron Paul"
They were making fun of last weeks debate, but they didn't make fun of Ron Paul.
All in all it was a good plug to young mainstream America.
Bottom line: Our movement is mainstream. I'm sure by now, Ron Paul is a household name.

I object!
Preposterous! This makes it seem like Congressman Paul has an enthusiastic group of never-say-die supporters who have developed a strong dislike for the corporate media!
Oh, wait.
Yeah, that's us, lol.
I thought it was a friendly jab. The fact that Dr. Paul stopped his campaign some time ago and people still think he's relevant enough to warrant a send-up is encouraging.
Now stop looking at videos and harass your senators! The bailout vote is tomorrow!
Yeah exactly! You don't
Yeah exactly! You don't hear them mentioning Romney, Huckabee, Giuliani, Thompson...
Our movement is pushing into the mainstream. Period.
Her joke about our belief of a media bias is actually true... I think any news is good news.

Do you know someone who cares a lot about Israel? Send them this link that explains why Ron Paul's message is better for Israel, America, and the world. www.AmericansForIsrael.com
Sorry, but this makes fun of Ron Paul supporters.

A comedy show poking fun?
A comedy show poking fun? Surely you jest! ;)
Here's the video

i think he's more well known than you think he is
things have changed rapidly in the past month
Sarcasm
I took the segment as mocking Ron Paul supporters, making fun the people who said he won the primary debates.
For those that didn't see it, Samantha Bee was saying in a ditzy voice "watching the debate (between McCain and Obama), it was TOTALLY clear that Ron Paul won it."
I've been watching the Daily Show a lot less lately. They seem overly obsessed with Sarah Palin. I get it, you don't think she's qualified and you think Alaskans are beneath you. Those jokes stopped being funny after the 3rd or 4th try.
That's the exact same reason
That's the exact same reason I stopped visiting the Raw Story--same crap! The Liberals seem really obsessed with Sara Palin--it's extremely annoying.
"I'm sure by now, Ron Paul is a household name."
I don't know. I think you're giving the American people a little too much credit for paying attention. I don't think we're quite there yet where people know who to believe. We're on dangerous ground here. We've won the first battle, but you can bet the bankers will be back and stronger than ever, with even more rhetoric about economic disaster.
Let's pray that the American people truly are paying attention to this, and have been convinced of the reasons why this bailout was a bad thing.
Nice.
Can't wait to see the vid.
So
My e-mail got through. Hmmmm.
Unfortunately Ron Paul is
Unfortunately Ron Paul is not a household name. I was just asked in the middle of traffic about who he was from my bumper sticker..I just saw it though it was funny..
I'm fairly sure....
that Jon Stewart has quite a bit of respect for RP....as he should.
Jon Stewart...
isn't a dooshbag. It naturally follows that he respects people who stand up for what they believe in, and are endeavoring to elevate the caliber of debate in the political arena.
