Senate Leaders Pledge Action on Bailout - They say it will pass no matter what!

apparently the senate didn't hear our voices loud enough, LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS BAILOUT NOW!

WASHINGTON —President Bush and Senate leaders of both parties vowed on Tuesday to work toward quick approval of a financial bailout plan despite the House’s rejection of a $700 billion proposal that the White House had negotiated with Congressional leaders of both parties.

Treasury and Fed Looking at Options (September 30, 2008) “We are at a critical moment for our economy,” the president said. “Congress must act.”

Senators Harry Reid of Nevada, the Democratic majority leader, and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican minority leader, echoed the president’s determination on Tuesday.

“We are committed to keeping the progress on this rescue package moving forward,” Mr. Reid said. “In the coming days, I will continue doing everything possible to see that this dire and avoidable financial crisis has the best possible outcome.”

Mr. McConnell also predicted that Congress would pass rescue legislation. “We will get the job done,”

EMAIL: and CALL Capitol switchboard at (202) 224- 3121

MY LETTER: Dear Senator Hutchison,The people of Texas, including ourselves, have spoken and Representative Carter listened. We do not want ANY Government bailouts/assistance or help in response to the current economic crisis. We expect a NO vote from you on any further legislation pertaining, or related, to the Economic Emergency Stabilization Act of 2008 (the $700 Billion Bailout Bill). We do indeed understand there is a huge economic crisis. However, we are prepared to weather the storm (including a possible Severe Depression). Our current economic crisis is the direct result from the debt-based monetary policy established in the United States by the private, for profit, Federal Reserve Bank. No amount of government “bailout/intervention" will produce any long-term positive results. We repeat, no amount of government “bailout/intervention” will produce any long-term positive results. In fact it would actually do the opposite since it is the excessive borrowing and spending by our United States Government and Citizens that is the root of our crisis today. You cannot solve the problem with the problem itself. Once again, we do expect a NO vote from you on any further legislation pertaining, or related, to the Economic Emergency Stabilization Act of 2008 or any BILL that has this item -in ANY FORM- attached to it. Concerned U.S. citizens,Timothy and Karina Kelly

They must all be on the take.

If the senate wants to forcefully take money from Americans, maybe it's time for Americans to forcefully throw the senators out.

Lies Are Visible

Bush's prime-time video message last week along with McBama's support of the bailout are being shown to be lies.

Yesterday the market went down. Today the market is up. Bush Pelosi Mccain Obama and everyone who voted for the bailout are being shown as liars and traitors. The people are awakening and the power elite are desperately trying to prove that they were "right" by pushing through the bailout.

I'm calling my Representative again in a few minutes. The message is simple: If you vote for a bailout or abstain, you will lose your job.

This is the kind of thing that happens

It wouldn't surprise me if they try to bypass the House entirely and pretend that it is legitimate--since it's such an existential crisis and doing nothing is not an option according to Big Brother. The "mainstream" media would certainly comply since "something MUST be done!"

This is exactly the kind of thing that happens during a fascist shift, isn't it?

Not a good time to expose certain Senators

who run for the office of President? They now have to take site.

Freedom brings People together

Ron Paul was right

Senate can't introduce the bill

US constitution Art 1 section 7
All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

Since the US has no money they will have to raise Revenue by borrowing, taxing, stealing or whatever.

I heard the Senate will

I heard the Senate will attach the Bailout Bill language to a renewable energy tax incentive Bill (possibly HR 5351 which has already passed the House). Then, the revised bill, if passed by the Senate will go to a House/Senate conference committee, thus circumventing the house floor.

Call, email, fax your senators.

Ron Paul - Hope for America

Exactly! Well, not constitutionally, anyway!!

Is anyone bothering to explain just HOW this is going to the Senate when it failed in the House of Representatives???

I don't mean anyone here (unless you know the answer!); I mean, I have heard no mention of this from any legislator or member of the administration or the Fed or ANYONE -- but we should absolutely get this answer from the Congress critters!

But when you call to tell them "no bailout" and also ask them about this little detail, what you hear is a lot of "...dorrrrrrr...uhhhhhh...um......I'll get back to you on that." And then they don't.

That's been my experience, anyway.

That is a question you might email to Ron Paul

himself. He likely would know and may answer us.

People in Washington need to

People in Washington need to storm the gates!

Just how loud do we have to scream in their ears for them to listen to us?

I mean graphite, of course. My mind just wandered for a moment...

This is from Michael Moore-Ill pass it on...why not:

" Of course, sane people know that nobody "lost" anything yesterday, that stocks go up and down and this too shall pass because the rich will now buy low, hold, then sell off, then buy low again. But for now, Wall Street and its propaganda arm (the networks and media it owns) will continue to try and scare the bejesus out of you. It will be harder to get a loan. Some people will lose their jobs. A weak nation of wimps won't last long under this torture. Or will we? Is this our line in the sand? Here's my guess: The Democratic leadership in the House secretly hoped all along that this lousy bill would go down. With Bush's proposals shredded, the Dems knew they could then write their own bill that favors the average American, not the upper 10% who were hoping for another kegger of gold.So the ball is in the Democrats' hands. The gun from Wall Street remains at their head. Before they make their next move, let me tell you what the media kept silent about while this bill was being debated:1. The bailout bill had NO enforcement provisions for the so-called oversight group that was going to monitor Wall Street's spending of the $700 billion;2. It had NO penalties, fines or imprisonment for any executive who might steal any of the people's money;3. It did NOTHING to force banks and lenders to rewrite people's mortgages to avoid foreclosures -- this bill would not have stopped ONE foreclosure!;4. It had NO teeth anywhere in the entire piece of legislation, using words like "suggested" when referring to the government being paid back for the bailout;5. Over 200 economists wrote to Congress and said this bill might actually WORSEN the "financial crisis" and cause even MORE of a meltdown.Put a fork in this slab of pork. It's over. Now it is time for our side to state very clearly the laws WE want passed. I will send you my proposals later today. We've bought ourselves less than 72 hours."

Live Free or Diebold

I hear to...

that Obama secretly wants to end the war, and secretly supports policies that will bring back liberty, but that he just can't say it out load for fear of losing votes.

This is insane logic to me. They want to pretend the Dems are better so ignore their negative positions as necessary lies, and yet give no credit to those that stand up and speak the words aloud.

Sicko is the right term alright...

all financial bills

must originate IN THE HOUSE!!!!!

constitutionally but who reads that thing in DC anymore >:(

My thought exactly. When do

My thought exactly. When do all of these actions add up to an impeachable offense?

Correct me if I am wrong,

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the House of Representatives the only part of congress that can create appropriations bills. Would not having the Senate create and pass a budgetary bill be completely unconstitutional? Not that this has stopped them before....

Article 1 Section 7

All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

This refers to raising revenue, their not really raising revenue...

Then you also need to look into the Federal Reserve Act to see how this all comes into play. Obviously, given the other day, the Fed doesn't need to consult Congress to inject $630 Billion into the economy. So, as we know, there is more to the Bill than just the creating funds. The funds are a smoke screen.

Call Obama and McCain and say they won't get your vote. ha-ha

Seems to me that if we want to take power away from the Federal government, then people need to stop holding and investing in T-bills. An investment in T-bills empowers the Federal government, this is their biggest fear. It also locks up dollars as they say. I suggest investing in something other than T-bills such as physical food, supplies, silver and gold. These items, if purchased locally, stimulate the local economy. But what the hell do I know?
grant

More threats, their support for this bill is less then yesterday
