Olmert advocates withdrawal

JERUSALEM -- Israel's departing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that his country will have to withdraw from "almost all" of the land it seized in a 1967 war if it wants to have peace with Syria and the Palestinians.

In an interview published in the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper yesterday, a week after his formal resignation, Mr. Olmert said that Israelis need to make a "supremely difficult" decision about whether or not they really want to have peace with their neighbours. If the answer is yes, he said, Israel will have to withdraw its soldiers and settlers from the Golan Heights and nearly all of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Nothing Holy about that land

The only reason anyone wants Jeruselem is it has a strategic location on the continent. There is no other reason. All that chosen people crap is smoke and mirrors. We are all from the twelve tribes.

Jerusalem is awesome

Most of Isreal has perfectly fertile soil, and a beautiful climate. That is why it has been inhabited for so long. Jerusalem is a diverse and beautiful city. They have the worst road rage and drivers in the world there though.

Get your FRNs out to work.

Seems to me that if we want to take power away from the Federal government, then people need to stop investing in T-bills. An investment in T-bills empowers the Federal government, this is their biggest fear. It also locks up dollars as they say. I suggest investing in something other than T-bills such as physical food, supplies, silver and gold. These items, if purchased locally, stimulate the local economy. But what the hell do I know?
grant

Its about f*ing time....

Now he says this as he leaves govt....

gee thanks PM Olmert for that great leadership.

Now that big brother is going bankrupt they will have to...

make friends with their neighbors?

LivingTheDream

a friend in need

Not only that but the more military bases we build over in the middle east the less we geopolitically need Israel. We are the type of friend that will dump you like a hot potato if you can not offer us something.

dream on

these are the chosen people, remember?

You ARE kidding right?

You ARE kidding right?

The isrealis will never trust their neighbors

for any reason short of having a gun down their throats. Thinking of yourself as the chosen people of the only god tends to improve the sense of being entitled to do anything to maintain your existence. That's just human nature. That goes for any radical religious perspective based on a "promised" historical destiny and the middle east just runs rampant with conflicting strains of that sort of religious belief. Our bankruptcy would make them even less willing to trust. Hope not, but thats my bet.

remember, the "promised land" is not the little country we know

It's the whole region. Ever wonder why you have never seen an arab man portrayed positively on tv. The zionists want everything from the nile to the euphrates.
