I did read the statement:

"And global financial markets are definitely crashing, even when the impact is momentarily softened through massive injections of artificial money -- "artificial" because the fiat money does not represent a store of genuine value "

That's encouraging, but his talk of "Every country is responsible for anchoring its own currency to the universal reserve asset, and every citizen has the right to convert the national currency into the universal reserve asset" leaves one to wonder exactly what he means by "universal reserve asset". He compares the system to the gold standard but seems to want to keep some kind of distance from it instead of actually saying that he is suggesting some kind of international gold standard.

Still though, it's nice to see someone, other than William Jennings Bryan, mention the gold standard.

It is incredible to read this. It makes me wonder though too.

He does seem to have a theme of global currency. Would he be selling such an idea by inserting talk of sound money during a financial crisis?

The perfect time to institute a global currency would be during global disaster.

More details are needed.

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

These were exactly my

These were exactly my thoughts as well. Notice she didn't say that gold/silver should be what the standard is based around.

FTA:

I believe she did suggest a gold or bimetallic standard. She's talking about how the ideal currency would work and then says:

"That's how a gold standard works. A bimetallic system, linked to silver and gold, works the same way. In either case the money is fixed to a common anchor -- and thus automatically functions as a common currency to serve the needs of legitimate producers and consumers throughout the world."

Another thought.

Once they do get a world currency they would want it tied to an anchor, because they would never want it to crash.

But in order to get there, they need to crash the current central banks, by printing their fiat money into destruction.

The sky is falling the sky is falling. Does not compute. How did this happen. I'm confused! It is a very good article.

Of course, they didn't have the nerve to mention Ron Paul.... but this could ONLY have been written because Dr. Paul has been getting so much air time this year. The Wall Street Journal calling for SOUND MONEY, and saying the problem is due to MONETARY POLICY???? YUP... I would say this is a HUGE sign that the word is getting out! WOW!
