On the radio news a couple of hours ago, Senator Grassley said that his constituents do not understand the bailout. He said he has not made a decision yet until he reads all the provisions of the bill.
I called his office for the second time today and requested that he vote against the bailout. We will see with his vote if Senator Grassley himself understands the bill.

I understand a vote is expected tomorrow evening on the 700 billion dollar Bailout (attached to another bill) in the Senate. As you well know, this bill was voted down in the House of Representatives yesterday due to extreme outrage by U.S. citizens and the resulting calls, faxes, emails and protests.
The news media and some congressmen are explaining this away by saying we “do not understand”, and therefore they can ignore us. We do, indeed understand! We are faced with an extreme economic crisis (and a possible depression) brought about by the very people that are requesting this staggering amount of money to “fix” the crisis!
Our current economic crisis is the direct result from the debt-based monetary policy established in the U.S. by the private, for profit, Federal Reserve Bank. While we have been focusing on the Bailout, the FED has further exacerbated the crisis by throwing 650 billion dollars more at the problem, causing further damage to our dollar and the economy. Congress must do away with the Fed and go back to a constitutional monetary policy.
Indebting the taxpayers and future generations is WRONG! The Economic Emergency Stabilization Act of 2008 is an outrage and an assault on our country’s financial stability and the Constitution.

It would help if these fax numbers were given
in a block so one could just paste the block in & fire away. It's painstaking to have to crop them out, or write them down manually.
I know I'm nitpicking, but try to make this as easy as possible.

I just got through
to Elizabeth Dole's office, and asked if they have had a lot of calls today (I have been calling both numbers all day and the lines have been busy). She said "Oh yes! We have had hundreds of calls today." I then asked her how many have been for and against, and she said that only ONE has been for the bailout! I of course told her my position against putting the fox in charge of the henhouse, and then asked her the Senator's position on the proposal. She said the Senator doesn't know at this point how she will be voting, she just got the proposal and it is gigantic, and she is reading it at this time. I told her that would be one good reason to vote NO, as things this serious should never be pushed through in a hurry before there is a clear understanding of what is at stake. I decided to end the call before I preached to much, as I figured there were LOTS more people in line to give her a little more educating. I will be interested to see how she votes, since I know what her constituants are asking for in apparently no uncertain terms...

They are trying to free up the ability for the Federal Reserve to create credit with absolutely no limits.
