I had the worst day ever today.....One PLUS!!!

This is getting bad....this is the first time in my life I have really been concerned about what is going on........why???

Well, as many of you longtime DP people know I own a Car Audio Store in Oregon, and we have grown every year for the past 21 years....and now that has come to a halt....We are holding our own...and will make it, but we may have to cut staff.

We have been trying to get a "Certain" brand of Car Audio for 21 years, and have always run into road blocks getting this brand.......and NOW.....they have come to us...asking me if I want to carry it?? This is the most prestigious brand to carry in the car audio industry. It is a very "High End" brand of Car Audio. Well, now is not the time to carry a new brand...it is so sad. This "Certain" brand of car audio company told us that they have lost 7 dealers in the past month, and since we are the strongest store in the northwest, they are offering it too us.

Can you believe this?

This is how bad it is getting. Our sales are down 20%. I am advertising heavy and killing the competition....but it is still not enough.......

I am a little depressed......I am secure myself, but would hate to lay off anybody...

I am sad tonight.

We will see....

The positive......Bi-Mart is having a special....all ammunition 50% Off! LOL

When times get tough first thing people do is start cutting out the non essentials. People start thinking Gee the old stereo sounds pretty good guess I don't need a new state of the art stereo with all the latest bells and whistles...

I have a friend who was really kicking ass when a small depression was approaching.
He seemed to get more 'exposure' and looked really good and expanded his business and took on more people.
I warned him this depression in the building industry was coming, but he said I was full of bullshit.
I pleaded that he contract and protect his core, keep his best people and loose the rest, make sure he had good cash flow and dump the risky.
Instead he thought he could increase his market share and the risk was worth it.
He was wrong and went bankrupt.
He lost a million dollar business.
We are still friends. He doesn't want to discuss that time.
He now has a very secure business.
He has built it based on only expanding on what he can afford and not on a loan from the bank. His assets (buildings and stock) exceed any loan. His people are loyal and taken care of. He doesn't try to get contracts where he is not paid. Only reliable contracts.
He plays golf and is happy. He doesn't want to have several millions anymore.
He wants to be happy and sleep at night.
He has a secure reputation, can afford his own growth, has the most professional people who are well taken care of and he is proud of what he does.

Don't feel down

My niece who is 45 just got back from the doctors office and she found out that she has an incurable form of leukemia.

There are much more important things than money, and I believe that salvation is the most important subject this side of eternity.

Maybe now she will be more open to again hear the Good News offered in the Bible.

I am in no way militant. I am a true Christian. I am one who loves doing what is right and not hiding in the shadows. The men and women of God are not whimps, but that does not mean they are militant. Read the Good Book and you will see many a mighty warrior who served God and fought for that which was right. It wasn't pretty many times but it never is.
To say that I am militant is a bit of an exageration to put it mildly, but you see things as you do and I understand.

I am a fighter if that is what you meant. I sure hope so.

Time here is short, you can't argue that. We must do what is right while we are here. I want you to know that I pray about everything and need His guidance in everything.
I have feelings, I have emotions like you all and I exercise them, and I also have an Almighty God who loves me and gave Himself for me and I rest there.

we will close them to help one another. We need food, ammo, guns, water, etc. I am hitting the gun show this month. I now realize we are definitely headed for disaster. I am still in shock. I wish you luck in the temporary time us business owners have doing business. I think life is about to get real simplified and totally complicated.
