Dear Representative [name]:
As an American taxpaying citizen, I urge with great concern you vote NAY on the revised “Economic Stabilization Act” (H.R. 1424) bill after the Senate‘s passage of the bill.
The expanded bill grants Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson a great degree of power as the “financial czar” in purchasing bad assets to allay Wall Street firms’ anxiety at taxpayers’ expense to absorb the cost to the tune of a few trillions instead of 7-8 hundred billion dollars. This power includes further building the “credit bubble” with the Federal Reserve’s injection of additional liquidities into the national economy that will result in worse outcomes -- deteriorating U.S. Dollar valuation and ruining U.S.’s global standing & credibility as the steward of fiscal responsibility on the national scale.
The bill is extended to the length of a novel with the inclusion of unrelated porks which we strenuously object to! This is the grevious abuse of our tax dollars to placate the concern of economic crisis exacerbated by malinvestment committed by the corporations.
Why must we “pay through the nose” to continue propping up the irresponsible and abusive corporate culture that begs for deregulation yet takes our money and run to loan BACK to us at exorbitant interest rate and other abominations?
This is not an American democracy. This is protecting the plutocracy in setting the economic-financial policies that is absolutely unfair to the taxpaying majority. Whatever happened to “taxation WITH representation”?
If you vote YEA on the execrable bill that gives away the blank check to further waste and abuse, you have joined the party of kleptocracy.
The swift response by the People whom you claim to represent will be resounding because, with the vote of YEA in defiance of the people‘s will, you bring trouble to yourself and your family in possessing the abhorrent characteristics of a politician who votes out of purely selfish reason.
I reiterate: VOTE NAY on H.R. 1424 !
