I decided to Google trend the topics of Austrian economics vs. Keynesian the other day, and look what I found: http://www.google.com/trends?q=austrian+economics%2C+keynesi... .
Wow! Internet searches for Austrian economics were nonexistent until midway 2007. Also, note the recent spike in interest in Austrian economics and which city is leading the way...Washington D.C.! Apparently, RP has not just been educating us.

Ron Paul is educating a generation of Americans
Meanwhile, here in Brazil all I hear is people blaming free market economics for this crisis.
Brazilians tend to be indoctrinated socialist idiots, and I'm seeing a lot of derision towards capitalism. Pretty much everyone has decided what they want to believe, and no amount of reason will turn them around. This is also enabling socialist politicians to increase their influence and the size of government.
You can be thankful that Americans have experienced freedom, even if you don't have it now. Liberty is not an obvious concept, and most people around the world don't know what it means. You can use that memory to inspire people again. The people of Brazil have no such memory.

We use the same electronic voting machines all over the country. Paper ballots are only be used if the machines and their replacements fail (which rarely happens).

Yes, we're forced to use the machines without paper trails and no proper audits. One cannot opt to use a paper ballot. The only audit consists of selecting a 4 machines "at random" and testing them in a mock voting scheme, where officials enter something like 2000 votes and then verify that they're correct. The whole process is a joke.

There are documented cases of fraud, but no one cares. The justice department doesn't properly investigate them, the politicians don't talk about this issue, the media rarely talks about it and Brazilians in general don't care.
I'm an electrical engineer, and I can safely say that the Brazilian process is extremely weak. Our neighboring countries have tried it in experimental settings and rejected it as insecure.
Brazil is currently governed by the people who organized the Foro de Sao Paulo. The rigging of our electoral process and widespread socialist indoctrination are part of a plan to implement socialism in South America. The fall of the US economy will certainly work in their favor.

a new coalition seems to be forming (or reforming?). In the 1st house vote on the bailout we saw Dems and Repubs vote together. Why? Because they were united based on both believing in 2 ideas central to the Revolution. First, that the action being taken was a proper function of the Fed. government. And secondly, that the Fed. Reserve was a n institution neither to be believed, trusted, and needs to be either brought under the total control of Congress.
Can we attribute, at least in part, the massive flood of emails and telephone calls that deluged the reps and senator's offices? I don't see how it could be otherwise.
Did anyone catch Bernie Sander's senate speech against the bailout? The self-proclaimed socialist was on fire and trashed Paulson et al. He was followed by the conservative senator from Alabama - Sessions - who basically said the bill is a bunch of crap and I'm voting no.

I would agree with what you said. I also believe that Ron Paul's people had an effect on the original bill not passing.
Regardless of how the election turned out.. Ron Paul won! He has energized a huge mass of people. Awaken many others regardless of if they agree with him or not, and got people involved in politics.
He couldn't have asked for anything more.
I even saw on my local Faux News the other night a group of protesters hanging out in front of the FED. They were holding signs that said "end the fed". This was being shown on my local FOX! We would have never seen this 1.5 years ago.
