It's a fixed game at this point ....

I posted an article here from my area where a bank was aquired by another. It did not mention any intervention from the FDIC, but I did the numbers and it did not make since.

We may never see another actual "bank failure" ever.

This may be a slight overstatement, but not by much.

Case in point, check out this press release by the FDIC:

http://www.fdic.gov/news/news/press/2008/pr08088.html

Note: This is completely false. Wakovia was aquired by Wells Fargo, not CITI.

NOTE 2: COULD SOMEONE PLEASE SAVE THIS LINK TO SOME SORT OF CACHE BANK, BECAUSE I AM SURE IT WILL DISAPPEAR SOON. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT.

WAHOR!!

I think that more banks may feel it is ok to fail..

now that the FDIC coverage went up to 250k.

that is such crap

Imagine paying an insurance premium to insure your home for $100,000. Then the Government steps in as says "hey, do not worry, we will cover you up to $250,000, for free. Alas, only for the bankers. Any idiot to leave more than $100,000 in one bank account right now deserves to loose it.

I asked my Congressman to at least include 300,000,000 tubes of lubrcant in the Bill for US.
