The Wall Street Journal just called me for an interview about Ron Paul
Submitted by RP 2008 on Fri, 11/09/2007 - 21:40
Okay, everyone. I don't know how many other people are getting called, but I just got a call from the Wall Street Journal for interview on an article they are doing about Ron Paul. I was very polite, grateful, and appreciative to the journalist. I explained all of Ron Paul's positions to her. The journalist said she found me on this website. Anyone who has any questions about what I said can write me here. It was a 47 minute phone interview.

THIS GUY posted the same
THIS GUY posted the same thing several weeks ago. He is a troll.
Not a troll.
No, I posted the WSJ article below. I wanted supporters to be aware of how media interests will spin and edit our interviews, how ever carefully handled.
OK OK
WSJ owned by News Corp, Murdoch (Fox News). Not surprised they printed a smear piece.
i work with him...
on massive ron paul projects. what do you do for ron paul?
sorry
But reading back through the comments I remember why I am leery. Don't pick a fight with me with what I have done for RP lately, Janet Jackson.
If I'm way off here, just ignore me. Maybe I'm wrong.
: )
that was a good one. janet jackson. ha! i wish I knew her songs well enough for a clever retort....
Hey Duff-Man... cool it!
LOOK at the date on the post you are replying to; See where it says "On November 10th" THIS IS THE POST from several weeks ago.
You are just seeing it again because someone added a new "reply" underneath it somewhere.
So the author of the original post in NOT a troll; it is YOU who are not paying attention and are disrupting things.
strange tho
It just seems strange they'd call someone who was a member for only 2 wks?? Ron Paul for President!!

Why the hell are they
Why the hell are they calling us?
When in the entire history of the United States has the press been more interested in a canidates "supporters" than the candidate themselves?
Remember those of you that are truthers, keep your stories about chem trails, Jewish bankers, and mind control to yourself.. if you don't trust the government story on 9/11 just say that and leave the weird stuff to Alex Jones. The press wants to pidginhole RP supporters as nut cases, so they can build a straw man against RP, don't let them do it.

Somewhat less than flattering...

This is one reason why we might restrain ourselves when approached by MSM... they will spin our commentary however they wish, in order to make *their* points, not ours.
typo in date
The article was printed on the 24th, not the 4th as I incorrectly stated in the post title.
what's really unflattering
is the commentary you'll see by reading below as RP 2008 was excoriated by the people on this forum. UCJB, hope you sent an apology.

The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.
Some overreaction here?
Getting called by a Wall Street Journal reporter and asked about Ron Paul would be a dream come true for me, and probably help the campaign. I certainly wouldn't say anything harmful, and I doubt RP 2008 would either based on a sampling of his posts that I just read. What's all the fuss about?
The Wall Street Journal is respected national MSM read by a lot of Republicans. Isn't Dr. Paul a Republican, running in Republican primaries? Doesn't he need Republican votes? Isn't one of our chief complaints that he's been ignored by MSM? Aren't we staunch First Amendment advocates?
So now, when MSM calls someone among us, some here want a supporter to say "I'm sorry, but I've been instructed by the national campaign not to comment"? Puh-LEEZE -- that sounds like something from a newspaper in pre-WWII Nazi Germany. And it likely would be published, which could harm the campaign.
Who is claiming that supporters should not comment to media? If it's someone with the national campaign, offer a name and I'll call to confirm. If it's just an idea from someone here, I respectfully suggest that it can backfire big time.
It seems suspicious.
The mainstream media is dead.

I won't say what I think, but I will say...
Why would someone put their personal information online?

You can say what you like, that doesn't concern me really, in honor of the Constitution and Dr. Paul's message. The web site is really for Ron Paul supporters and it is private. Please be respectful and we can get along fine. If you object to his message then tell us what it is you disagree with.

Maybe he really did give a
Maybe he really did give a good interview. Perhaps he was picked by this lady because she thought he would be a good example of one of the Ron Paul crazies that we always hear about in the media. - No offense 2008, but your posts are kinda hostile. - But then instead, 2008 turned out to be really civil and courteous, and nothing at all like she thought a Ron Paul crazy would be like.

I'm sorry if this is too
I'm sorry if this is too blunt, but he was picked by the damn reporter because he had his damn phone number listed. How is that not obvious? It has nothing to do with the content of his posts.
Easy
It makes sense, less work for the reporter...
I am sure everyone here is aware of how to get your message out to the media-
Press releases etc....
It's because they are LAZY
SO...
A phone # already in an email means an easy interview...
Could be as harmless as this!
alot of talk on Constitutional law
I gave her alot of talk on Constitutional law and she told me she also checked out my Myspace page which I guess is bad b/c some dude down there wrote I had alot of whorish women on it. Anyway, if that interview goes bad it is b/c someone got to it and spun it. I am telling you I explained everything politely, courteously, and evenhandedly. I just gave her the straight up truth and facts about Ron Paul, and believe me I know a hell of alot about Ron Paul's positions. Basically, the positions listed on my myspace.

She wanted to know what I believed and I told her. I was honest.

Maybe Google
I googled "GOP Dec 4th debate" this morning and the first and second links were from dailypaul. This is why we have to be careful of not responding to posts about Ron Paul that are negative. One of the posts was only 1 or two days old. Just thought you should know.
someone should try to
someone should try to contact the WSJ reporter and offer an alternate interview.
call the wsj
i'm not gonna give it out yet because i don't want people to spam her like a million times you can prolly call the wsj tho
