Can we settle on ONE December 16th site?
Submitted by think.rink on Fri, 11/09/2007 - 21:41
I know we all appreciate the effort and success that went into the November 5th Money Bomb. We want to replicate that success on December 16th. We can raise $10 million for Ron.
However, if every well meaning person sets up a separate website, this is not going have the desired effect, and will dilute the effort.
So far we have:
http://www.thisdecember16th.com/
http://www.donateindecember.com/
http://www.teaparty07.com/
Does anyone else agree with me on this?

10,000 sites would be better
Don't sweat it. It's not the site, it's the donations.
huh?
Where is this new control-freak attitude among forum members coming from? It's about FREEDOM folks! Who cares if there are a thousand December 16th websites as long as they all direct donations to the campaign.
Okay, sing along with me…it's from the 80s…you all know it:
Everybody wants to rule the world
Except Ron Paul, of course. Which is one of the reasons why more and more people are supporting him. Maybe we should channel some of that laissez faire attitude of his to our efforts.
Privacy concerns
Many Ron Paul supporters are concerned about their privacy; we don't want to pledge on a site with our email address, and then get spammed forever as a result.
You know how 18,000 people pledged on This November 5th, but 37,000 donated?
The downside of not pledging is that it fails to build momentum. I didn't know that the nation of Ron Paul supporters was serious about Nov 5 until I saw the pledge numbers rise.
To encourage pledges, and thus momentum, the most trustworthy site should be singular and verified by people we trust...such as Mike Nystrom.
mutual database
http://www.thisdecember16th.com/
http://www.donateindecember.com/
http://www.teaparty07.com/
http://teaparty07.org
we don't need to close down those sites, as long as they
share a mutual subscription form, which would mean that
they share their subscriber database.
anyone could then sign up for dec16th from the site they choose.
Not necessary!
So long as everyone is being directed to donate to the official campaign site, we should hope for thousands of sites like this!
Is it possible?
Is it possible for a bona-fide trustworthy site to be used to direct campaign supporters to unified and trustworthy efforts such as this?
Can the official campaign site link us to the most trustworthy efforts?
Can Mike Nystrom have such a page? I'd feel more comfortable getting news about these sites from a trustworthy person than from random recommendations from who-knows-who on the Daily Paul forum.
Does such a clearinghouse already exist?
I'm concerned about pledging with my email address to a site that's some kind of scam to collect email addresses.
All the efforts should be commended
All the efforts should be commended. All the sites look great ! There's a lot of talent out there and there are other projects worthy of their skills. For instance a website which serves as a clearinghouse for project ideas.. and one for the organization of hiring pollsters to conduct fair and effective polls designed to be reported on by the MSM.
A project to focus on grassroots support for the meetup groups working their tails off in Iowa. Adopt a county in Iowa etc. We NEED Iowa.
Congratulations on all the work towards these beautiful websites. Ronpaulgraphs.com will likely feature Trevor's site and perhaps that is the primary site but maintaining the others cannot harm the effort. This can be a mutually beneficial combined effort. Perhaps a little competition to attract the most subscribers could not hurt. All these sites could provide cooperative comparison subscription data of the others and then a total of all three sites. Ronpaulgraphs.com could provide data on the total of all three sites. After all the 16th will be the one day of the event no matter who has received the subscription. All the donations are sent directly to the campaign website.
Good luck everyone !

I missed the memo
If teaparty07.com is the site, then great. I had not heard this, and was looking for some confirmation. thanks!

why don't you ask THEM
users and sheep don't mind, the fact is we do it on that day, it's the organizers that need to work together.
Yep, I completely
Yep, I completely agree.
I am on board with Trevor. His Nov. 5th efforts speak volumes. Therefore I am on board and pledged with www.teaparty07.com .
I do believe that one site should handle the deal. The more pledges one effort has, the better it will draw in people who are on the fence in regards to donating. Keep in mind, there are people out there who are not 100% on board with Ron Paul as most here are.
If each of the three sites listed above have 20,000 pledges (a number pulled out of the air), it wouldn't look as good/appealing as one of the sites having 60,000.
My vote is for

We've already settled on teaparty07.com
The settling was done. Supporters who helped create other sites have been asked to redirect to www.teaparty07.com, and most have already done so.
Firefox can't find the server at www.teaparty07.com.
great site
I just loaded teaparty07.com in Firefox
Might have been temporary or a propogation problem, but teaparty07.com looked just fine in my Firefox browser a minute ago. Refresh or clear cache, perhaps?
The developer is on ronpaulforums.com, by the way, and is the person to notify.
Nope- not for me
I can't ping the site or do a tracert.
So what this means is that the nameservers across the web have not been properly updated. Their ISP needs to regenerate, or whatever.
Are all of you seeing this site? I've never been able to get it, not on Firefox, not on IE, not on ping.
I can get to teaparty.org and .net without any problems.
