AMERO- this is getting pretty weird

I didn't want to say "scary" in the thread title.

Since I'd been hearing more and more about the amero, and since i follow metals and currency and stock markets every day, i figured i'd give the denver mint a call.
i googled "denver mint" and got a couple numbers.

first tried (303) 405-4761

what i got was a recording with no information.

then called

(303) 572-9500

which turned out to be the gift shop at the mint. Here is the conversation as near as i recall:

mint: thank you for calling the denver mint, how may i help you?

me: hello, i'd like some information please. can you tell me the exchange rate between the dollar and the amero?

mint: no sir i'm sorry i don't have that information

***alarm bells. if it were BS she would have said, "huh? what are you talking about? amero? what is that?"****

but no. she was very nonchalant.

me: do you know when the amero will be rolled out?

mint: no sir, this is the gift shop. we just sell the mint's products.

me: so you don't have any ameros yet?

mint: no sir, not yet.

me: do you know what the amero is?

mint: yes, sir.

me: is there anyone else there that I could speak with about the amero?

mint: no sir, i'm sorry.

me: is there another number i could try, another number for the denver mint?

mint: no sir, i'm sorry.

me: ok, thank you.

then i tried going to the mint website itself and called the number there. i went tothe contact page at http://www.usmint.gov/email/ and called the number there at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).

i hit "0" for a customer service rep, and got another woman. i asked the same series of questions. sorry, no information about exchange rates or rollout, but yes, she was aware of the amero. she was just an order fulfillment rep for the mint itself, and when asked for another number, gave me the original dead end number of 303-405-4761.

so two calls to low-level people affiliated with the US mint, and both of them knew what that the amero existed at least as an idea but had no information about rollout or exchange rates.

i should have asked if they had seen one or held one.

It's time to move on and worry about greater things. (like something real)

STFU and stop distracting

STFU and stop distracting people away from real topics. You don't think the Amero is real? Do more research before I call you a dumbass.

Yeah, it's real, it's a real

Yeah, it's real, it's a real GOLD, SILVER AND COPPER coin that you can buy from Dan Carr and his company Designs Compute, which by the way designed and "minted" the coins as "fantasy coins". They are "minted" by a private company just like the Ron Paul Liberty Dollars are "minted" by a private company FOR PROFIT.

It would indeed be amazing that there would be a SOUND MONEY coin used by the NAU as a replacement for the Fiat System. Yeah, that really makes sense for the NWO to be interested in replacing Fiat Money with Sound Gold and Silver Money.

Chew before you swallow folks, chew before you swallow....... gullibility is not a virtue.

I don't think there

will be an Amero. I think they are going straight for the Global currency. Just my two cents

my two ameros

We've had a global currency

We've had a global currency for the last 40 years...its called TOTAL FIAT MONEY, it doesn't matter which countries seal is on it, it all functions the same what with the same results.

It's weird as hell down here

It's weird as hell down here in Chile as well. The other day, I was buying something at a stand in the institute I'm studying at and, for some reason, I overheard 3 people talking about the Amero and all the stuff we know about. I didn't want to butt in but I said to myself "Well, tell me something I didn't know". They weren't classmates of mine, just in case (who've heard what I think about the whole crisis). BTW, I saw a video on here about Lou Dobbs mentioning something of an "all-American plan" (in my case, I'm referring to the union of North, Central and South America). Did this have to do with the Amero for some reason? I'll try to find the thread but my God I don't know how most of us sleep at night while we know what the powers to be are doing to our country and the world.

Well....

Regardless whether it's called the Amero, or for that matter, putting aside the whole currency issues, certainly we all have read and heard enough about the attempts to create a North American Union. Ron Paul himself has spoken on the issue. Currency is only one aspect of this. So dismissing the "Amero" runs the risk of dismissing an attempt to unify the currency as a element of the NAU.

We all know the two go hand-in-hand. Call the currency what you like.

It is not a question of

It is not a question of having to dismiss a complete fantasy like the AMERO, which was produced and is sold on the private market as a "fantasy coin", while attempting to learn, really learn the truth about the attempts of the CFR, in particular, to form a North American Union. As I said, it is vitally important for us, for all of us, to chew everything we read or see before we simply swallow it as truth. I dismiss the AMERO because it is not, nor has it ever been, a part of the plan for the NAU. Now, if you actually do some research into the writings of the CFR you will find the evidence you need to actually present their Un-American plans to all who need to awaken to the danger that these Traitors pose to this country and to our Constitution.

But to blindly accept something just because it has been either promoted or in the case of the AMERO, sensationalized does not help us sort through, get to the raw truth of the matter that should really be concerning us about the NAU. Why go to sources that use these issues to sensationalize and emotionalize a subject, such as the AMERO, when you can to straight to the source of the NAU conspiracy and read their plans for such a Union.

The AMERO, it appears, has become a distraction that has caused people to focus on some of the strangest speculations when the truth is much more horrifying and is being perpetrated in a much more slight-of-hand manner and has been for the last 95 years. So, we can either put away childish things and actually search for the truth, even if that truth destroys a few of our preconceived ideas, or we can remain a people who are tossed to and fro by every wind that blows around on YouTube.

I prefer the truth, usually it is much more intriguing and far more treacherous.

Yes I have, and obviously,

Yes I have, and obviously, if the AMERO were a serious monetary solution then it is very strange that they would mint it as though it were a sound money system, minted in gold, silver and copper. If they want to replace the Fiat Dollar with a Gold or Gold Backed Monetary System then more power to them, it would be far better than the One-World Currency we have been using for the last 40 years called Total Fiat Money. Now, does it make a lot of sense to you that they would seek to replace fiat money with sound money? That's what the AMEROs are minted in...gold, silver and copper.

DUH!

The FAKE Amero's are replicated perhaps in gold and silver, but there is no Amero yet as far as we know. It's still ostensibly theoretical and it wouldn't seem likely that such a currency would have anything to do with tangible commodities!

But, you're trying to say that the entire idea of the Amero(or any sort of NAU currency, despite name) is a fantasy just because some racist white guy spread some fake "Amero" pics around here about a year ago. . . and that doesn't make any sense!

You said you've read the report that originally coined the term Amero and yet you still think it's not likely? It's PART of the NAU system man, so you're saying let's focus on the NAU but they won't be able to fully pull it off without a singular currency!!!

Back in the 30s and 40s,

Back in the 30s and 40s, there were two men who were pretty much in charge of making monetary decisions in this country and neither one were politicians. One was John Maynard Keynes, the other Dexter White, both were Fabian Socialist. They discussed the idea of a single global currency, Keynes wanted to call it the Bancor, White wanted to name it the Unita, but after long deliberation they came to the conclusion that they could accomplish the very same thing by allowing each country to keep their own currency, but to gradually transform each currency into Fiat Money. So, you see, they have already accomplished a ONE-WORLD CURRENCY, it is called FIAT MONEY and it has been used by the NWO for the last 37 years. The replacement of one fiat currency with another fiat currency will do absolutely nothing monetarily or politically. Doing away with Sovereignty is not an easy thing to do, it takes generations and although they had accomplished a great deal in promoting their NWO, it is going to take a great deal to make it a reality. All you have to do is read the white papers of Fabian Socialist Political and Economic Planning Commission, the CFR and Trilateral Commission to see that they still have a long way to go and they know it.

I'm not dismissing the idea of an Amero

just the claims by some, Hal Turner being one, that have been PROVEN to be false. The guy who makes these coins, Dan Carr, DOES NOT SUPPORT THE AMERO OR THE NAU.

In fact, he created these 'fantasy patterns' of what an Amero might look like, precisely to drum up this sort of hoopla to get people to pay attention to what is being planned for us, so that maybe we can stop it.

So far, his idea is working. BUT, once people are aware of the issue, it is important that they understand that those coins are not "real" in the sense of a government minted and issued currency. If people keep spreading this nonsense, it will only make them look dumb when someone finds out, and then those people will likely stop listening to whatever else they are being warned about.

As for the 'shipment to China' the mintages that Carr lists on his site could not possibly add up to anything approaching 400 billion in face value Ameros, not to mention why if they were real, it wouldn't happen like this (for reasons listed in my comment below).

I also point out Mr. Turner so that others will not unwittingly take what he has to say with more than a grain of salt as he is a proven FBI instigator.

There is no corroboration of the China claim other than Mr. Turner's report of an article by someone named Sorcha Faal, who has also proven to be a loony bird without ever giving any shred of proof of anything she/he claims.

The SPP, NAU and plans for a single currency ARE REAL.

But this China story, and these particular specimens of 'ameros' are not a part of the implementation of that plan.

I agree....Hal Turner is a

I agree....Hal Turner is a hack, making his money by sensationalizing various subjects whether they are factual or not…why turn to him when you can easily get the correct information directly from the horse’s mouth, they have never been very secretive about their intentions. The AMERO is bunk. There is however, no doubt, none whatsoever, that the Fabian Socialists and one of its offspring the CFR seek to eliminate or at the very least to diminish the Sovereignty of countries.

We don’t have to look far to find exactly what the plans are of the Fabian Socialist NWO, they have, for decades, spelled out their plans in a very “Open Conspiracy” for all to see. Indeed, the effective branch of the Fabians in this country has been the Council on Foreign Relations, the brain-child of Colonel Edward Mandell House. Another founder of the CFR was John Foster Dulles and he was very clear about the direction the CFR sought to take this country:

“Some dilution or leveling off of the sovereignty system as it prevails in the world today must take place to the immediate disadvantage of those nations which now possess the preponderance of power. The United States must be prepared to make sacrifices afterward in setting up a world politico-economic order which would level off inequalities of economic opportunity with respect to nations.”

Here is some of the intentions of the CFR to implement a North American Union:

In 2001, The Atlanta Roundtable held a session, the second one, to discuss the future of North American “integration”. Robert A. Pastor, of Emory University, led the discussion, which included Gordon D. Giffin, the former Ambassador to Canada.

Bob Pastor’s Recommendations are as follows:

A lean advisory North American Commission whose purpose is to set the agenda for Summit meetings by the three leaders. The Commission would prepare proposals to help the leaders think about issues from a continental standpoint. Instead of two parliamentary groups—the U.S.-Mexican and U.S. -Canadian—he proposed a single North American parliamentary group to help all sides.

A new model within the U.S. government to manage North American affairs is essential. He proposed a White House based model whereby the Coordinator for North American affairs would chair an Inter-Agency Group on North America and report through the National Security Adviser and the Domestic Policy Adviser to the President. An alternative model is a State Department structure, at the Undersecretary level. (He has developed both proposals in his new book, Toward a North American Community: Lessons from the Old World for the New, Institute for International Economics, August 2001).

A permanent court on trade and investment to replace the ad hoc mechanisms that have had problems of conflict of interest.

A customs union that establishes a common external tariff and removes customs requirement between the countries, moving us a step closer to a common market.

A perimeter formula that would put together a North American core of immigration and customs law enforcement officers. The officers would be trained by all three countries in a single unit and would be responsible for enforcing the perimeter of immigration. This model would reduce by half the customs and immigration documentation to cross the border.

A North American Development Fund so that all three countries contribute a proportion of their wealth to help with education and building infrastructure in Mexico.

Gordon Giffin’s Recommendations are as follows:

Allocate more resources to the U.S.-Canadian 5,500 mile border to make it more efficient. We had 9,000 officers of immigration, customs, and border control assigned to Mexico and only 900 assigned to Canada. September 11 has given the political will to address an issue that should have been addressed long ago, and Congress has now appropriated money for 1,000 people on the Canadian border.

Enhance the movement of a legitimate person so that more time can be spent on the illegitimate person. We need to document people and goods so that they move more quickly, i.e. a North American pass that requires a cursory background check done.

Clear commercial trucks remotely so that they don’t clog the border.
Reorganize all of our border functions into one department, one agency, so there is more efficient operations. The INS is in the Justice Department, the Customs is in the Treasury, and the Coast Guard is in Transportation. As a result, they have different bosses, different policies, and different levels of accountability.

Balance our need for security and our need for the continent to be integrated. We cannot impose unilateral solutions from Washington. We need to have a dialogue and to collaborate with both Canada and Mexico.

Now, in 2005, the following recommendations were made regarding the North American “integration”:

Findings and recommendations:

Build a North American economic and security community by 2010. To enhance security, prosperity, and opportunity for all North Americans, the chairs propose a community defined by a common external tariff and an outer security perimeter.

Create the institutions necessary for a North American community. The chairs propose annual summit meetings among the three countries and the creation of a North American Advisory Council to prepare for and implement the decisions made at the summits.

Enhance North American competitiveness with a common external tariff. Over the last decade, nations around the world, from China to India to Latin America to the expanded membership of the European Union, have become increasingly integrated into the global market. To meet these challenges to North American competitiveness, the chairs recommend that the three governments negotiate a common external tariff on a sector-by-sector basis at the lowest rate consistent with multilateral obligations: "Unwieldy rules of origin, increasing congestion at ports of entry, and regulatory differences among the three countries raise our costs instead of reducing them."

Develop a border pass for North Americans. The chairs propose a border pass, with biometric indicators, which would allow expedited passage through customs, immigration, and airport security throughout North America. "The governments of Canada, Mexico, and the United States should commit themselves to the long-term goal of dramatically reducing the need for physical scrutiny of traffic, travel, and trade within North America."

Adopt a unified Border Action Plan. The three governments should "strive toward a situation in which a terrorist trying to penetrate our borders will have an equally hard time doing so no matter which country he elects to enter first.

"First steps should include: harmonized visa and asylum regulations; joint inspection of container traffic entering North American ports; and synchronized screening and tracking of people, goods, and vessels, including integrated "watch" lists. Security cooperation should extend to counterterrorism and law enforcement, and could include the establishment of a trinational threat intelligence center and joint training for law enforcement officials. On the defense front, the most important step is to expand the binational North American Aerospace Defense Command to make it a multi-service Canada-U.S. command with a mandate to protect the maritime as well as air approaches to North America. Canada and the United States should invite Mexico to consider closer military cooperation in the future.

Narrow the development gap with Mexico. While trade and investment flows have increased dramatically, the development gap between Mexico and its two northern neighbors has widened. "Low wages and lack of economic opportunity in parts of Mexico stimulate undocumented immigration, and contribute to human suffering, which sometimes translates into violence." Mexico must increase its rate of economic growth and decide on the steps it will take to attract investment and stimulate growth. As a matter of their own national interests, the United States and Canada should assist Mexico by establishing a North American Investment Fund, designed to channel resources for the purpose of connecting the poorer parts of the country to the markets in the north.

Develop a North American energy and natural resource security strategy. Canada and Mexico are the two largest oil exporters to the United States; Canada alone supplies the United States with over 95% of its imported natural gas and 100% of its imported electricity. The three governments should expand and protect energy infrastructure, fully exploit continental reserves, conserve fossil fuels, and reduce emissions. "Regional collaboration on conservation and emissions could form the basis for a North American alternative to the Kyoto protocol."

Deepen educational ties. "Given its historical, cultural, political, and economic ties, North America should have the largest educational exchange network in the world." To that end, the chairs recommend expanding scholarship and exchange programs, developing Centers for North American Studies in all three countries, and cross-border training programs for school teachers.

Founded in 1921, the Council on Foreign Relations is an independent, national membership organization and a nonpartisan center for scholars dedicated to producing and disseminating ideas so that individual and corporate members, as well as policymakers, journalists, students, and interested citizens in the United States and other countries, can better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other governments.

The Mexican Council on Foreign Relations(COMEXI) is the only multi-disciplinary organization committed to fostering sophisticated, broadly inclusive political discourse and analysis on the nature of Mexico's participation in the international arena and the relative influence of Mexico's increasingly global orientation on domestic priorities. The Council is an independent, non-profit, pluralistic forum, with no government or institutional ties that is financed exclusively by membership dues and corporate support. The main objectives of COMEXI are to provide information and analysis of interest to our associates, as well as to create a solid institutional framework for the exchange of ideas concerning pressing world issues that affect our country.

Founded in 1976, the Canadian Council of Chief Executives is Canada's premier business association, with an outstanding record of achievement in matching entrepreneurial initiative with sound public policy choices. A not-for-profit, non-partisan organization composed of the chief executives of 150 leading Canadian enterprises, the CCCE was the Canadian private sector leader in the development and promotion of the Canada-United States Free Trade Agreement during the 1980s and of the subsequent trilateral North American Free Trade Agreement.

Yes Yes

I appreciate your inquiry, much better than most, much better than what most people are seemingly willing to do.

Like the so-called FEMA Camps, people talk, people yak 'n show some videos but no one actually pursues the thing. Videos yes, but, things aren't always what they appear.

I hope we come to understand

I hope we come to understand that this story about the AMERO has been run into the ground by people who obviously didn't do much research on the subject. I have been telling people for the last two years that the AMERO was designed by a man named Dan Carr and produced [minted] by his company Designs Comput for the "spoof fantasy" coin market. He has made a fortune off the AMERO, and other coins he has produced. There has not been a single AMERO "minted" by the Treasury or the U.S. Mint, not one.

The AMERO is no different than the Ron Paul Liberty Dollars that were also minted by a private company.

If we are to ever get understanding, if we are to ever grasp what is really happening then we must never swallow before we chew.

By the way, Hal Turner who "broke" the story, I believe back in 2006...has also made a tidy profit from his scoop on the AMERO, imagine that.

Hal Turner Is a KNOWN government plant

go do some homework.

The article says they will be paid 400 billion, so where did the 800 million figure come from? Did you want just a "really big number?"

Why would they ship coins instead of paper which is lighter? Why would they ship anything instead of just punching some keys on a computer? What good do they do the Chinese when it doesn't officially exist yet?

Any PROOF that these were shipped, like manifests, inspection sheets, etc.?

Why would the NAU use a non fiat currency? Why Gold, Silver and Copper instead of fake 'out of thin' air stuff?

Why is the Fed working on a new currency that will render itself (the Fed) useless?

THINK PEOPLE.

These 'ameros' are fantasy collectors gift items. Not nearly enough has been minted to serve as money. They are not minted in proper proportion to their face value, and so if they did circulate, some would be hoarded according to Gresham's Law. Not smart.
