Can anyone confirm?

Hi, I was out on my balcony at 7:40PM tonight in Montgomery County Maryland and noticed something unusual. In looking at the sky I noticed something very odd that I haven't seen before. I counted at least 15 what appeared to be very small aircraft with blinking lights. The weird thing was I didn't hear any noise that a typical small plane makes and they seemed to be flying lower than I normally see airplanes fly. Has anyone else seen these tonight? I tried to take a picture but my camera isn't that good. I spend time on the balcony every night and this is a first.

The last time I checked out a story like this, it was a backyard hoax with practically no harmful intent...a father launching balloons with flares to amuse his kids.
Or so the story about the story goes...

Lights are frequently used to communicate in the air and on water. If there was anything clandestine going on, why the lights? With a complete absence of light discipline, you gotta wonder what's going on.

There are fireworks of some sort that are used with 'lil parachutes that might have the same effect. They seem to blink when they turn if I'm not mistaken, and of course, eventually fall but it appears as if there moving away from ya. They can look like flares also.
I once saw something similar a few years ago.
no noise... just bright white lights all in a row that came on and off. They were also low on the horizon. Someone else saw them with me so I know I wasn't hallucinating. If I had to guess, some military toys.
I am almost certain that what I saw wasn't UFOs

Maybe youll see something akin to what you saw posted there. Not being weird here- its a legitimate site and often times people can get a satisfactory explaination for what theyve seen.

Based on what I saw
they may have been un-manned aerial vehicles. It might have something to do with the Army tradeshow going on in DC this week although it would seem odd to fly them at night. They definitely weren't helicopters.
