Why isn't Chuck Baldwin on my ballot?!?!?!?

I'm in California and after getting EVERYONE I KNOW to vote for Chuck Baldwin, he's not on the California ballot!!!

Can somebody explain this to me??

Maybe some Pennsylvanians can help me out here. According to the Constitution Party's ballot access website, Baldwin's ballot status here in PA is listed as "In Court". Does this mean I can write him in or not?

I will also be bringing my camera and taking a photo of my completed ballot to have proof of who I voted for. (If they don't allow my camera I'll use my cell phone) Maybe if all of us did that we could contest the count when they try to cheat us? Just a thought.

i really think that write ins wont be counted, dr. paul said not to write him in because they dont really pay attention to that, i want to write in dr.paul, but i know they wont really count it, so maybe if we at least vote for a 3rd party it will get noticed.....what are your guys opinions...i have nader and barr...but i am leaning nader

im also in california, i dont have baldwiin either, but i do have barr and nader, and from what i have seen i think i will vote for nader, him and dr. paul sat down together and they are on the same page for the most part, i think if you live in california you should go for nader, just my opinion...

My understanding is that the CP and the American Independent

parties merged in California, for ballot access convenience. However, when the CP choose Chuck Baldwin over neocon Alan Keyes, the AI portion of the party broke away and nominated Keyes. Now, we have the irony of Alan Keyes running on the ballot of a party originally created for white supremecist George Wallace and Chuck Baldwin stuck as a write-in candidate in the the most populous state.

Isn't it amusing?

Our state says in court? can we still vote and do we have to switch parties .. I switched from libertarian to rep to vote for Dr. Paul .. do I have to switch to Constitution now.

Anyone can vote for anyone in a general election

party membership ONLY matters in a primary, when party members choose who that party's candidate will be in November.

Were it otherwise, there would be no need for a general election. The Division of Elections could just look at numbers of voters registered in each party and then declare the winner. :-)
