my sister is a nurse

and they told her the same thing last year. She said "no way, I'm trying to get pregnant" and they dropped it.

No way! I value my health

No way! I value my health and vitality. :D

Nope

Not gonna do it

Woohoo!

I thought this was dead when I went to bed last night. Very interesting to see what everyone has to say. It actually changed my mind about getting the flu shot. I think I might get the flumist though because it has no thiomersal in it.

NO!

Why? The flu viruses change each year and the flu shot only addresses certain types. Also, they have seen a correlation with low Vitamin D levels and getting the flu. That's why the flu is so much more deadly in the winter. Be sure and get enough Vitamin D (2000 IU) and you won't get the flu as easily.

Yep.

When I get the flu, I get a shot of Crown Royal. (or two) I've even been known to offer one to visitors so they don't get sick.

NO!

do you really know what they are pumping into your body, the doctor probably doesn't know what chemicals their putting in your body.

Not a snowball's chance in hell!

Never had one, never will. If you keep your immune system strong enough, with the proper diet, you won't ever have the flu. I haven't had the flu, or a cold, in over 5 years. Flu shots actually weaken the immune system, and are nothing but a money making scam.

Seriously, why the heck would I do such a thing?

No really. I can't think of one good reason. Not one.

I have never been able to

I have never been able to figure out how there is a "flu season" in the 1st place, spring, summer, fall, winter, football, baseball, all of these seasons coming at roughly the same time each year makes sense to me, but how does the flu know to come at the same time each year?

Thank you Dr. Paul for making my act on what I already knew was right.

has anyone ever heard a logical reason for a "flu season"

Thank you Dr. Paul for making my act on what I already knew was right.

Ain't gonna ...

dot it. Hell-to-the-"NO"!!!

never have, never will

"74% of all doctors refuse...(to get flu shots for themselves and their family)". I recall reading that in the news recently and that's a powerful statement against these shots.

I do NOT trust the FDA to do much of anything.

I got the flu

I'm in Florida and have the flu right now pretty bad. Since I got sick I realized I've never actually had the flu before. Not like this. I had the most forceful puking I've ever had. Getting too drunk and puking has nothing on this. I could have puked on a wall 10 ft away. I was worried for a couple days but one of my family members gave it to me so I knew what to expect from this thing. Had I not known how bad it was going to be I might have gone to the hospital because it felt like my insides were being liquified. My stomach sounded like a herd of cows constantly moo'ing. I couldn't urinate properly for a couple days straight because my body was turning everything into enzymes and put all liquid in my bowels instead of my bladder. You know that 10 ft wall I mentioned? Yeah, I could hit it from either end. This thing amplifies everything coming out to be forceful.

But I still won't get a flu shot. I don't trust them. The human body is more than prepared to handle the flu. It's not pleasant but it will only make my body stronger. I flexed muscles I completely forgot I had. Plus I lost about 10 lbs this week. I did have to worry about dehydration. I drank TONS of water and still had cottonmouth. I'm a fatty anyway so that's a good thing. Overall I'd have to say getting the flu was a good thing. My body feels much stronger and I lost some weight.

Sounds like an intestinal virus to me

Usually the flu has upper respiratory symtoms. There is a nasty stomach bug circulating now. Take heart though, you will now have a natural immunity to this bug whatever it is for a long time to come, and you will have protection even if it does mutate. Thats what rue herd immunity is all about. Hope you feel better soon!

Autism rate

The autism rate in the U.S. is 1 out of 150.

The autism rate in the Amish is zero because they do not vaccinate.

NO!

Last year, for the first time ever, I received a flu shot. Other than a sore arm for several days, I didn't have a reaction to it. I made sure it didn't contain mercury (if they are multi-dose vials they DO; otherwise some do, some don't). I felt pressured by the dialysis team to have the flu shot.

I recently read on a transplant forum that now, post transplant, my body won't develop an immunity from the flu shot, so not to bother. I would have politely declined anyway, but it is good to have some backing from the transplant community. I've already got enough side effects, thank you very much!

don't worry, mercury is only

don't worry, mercury is only toxic to infants. once you turn 18, toxins are no longer toxic so go ahead and get your flu shot...

I have to assume that you are being sarcastic.

If not, then I can tell you from personal experience that you are very very wrong!!!

Try a course of Hep B vacs.. but I would suggest you do your homework first before you offer yourself.

Not true!

How can you say that mercury is not toxic to people of all ages?

just crack a smile..

it was sarcasm..

not no but, HELL NO!

i haven't gotten one in several years and will NEVER get another one!
i have never been so sick as I was after getting the last two in successive years (about 7 years ago)

of course, i have been blessed with a very good immune system and, at age 51, have never spent a day in the hospital...i jog, eat fairly "right"

its a crap shoot with these viruses they inject you with...they are injecting you with their best "guess" of which virus will sweep across america (and they are usually wrong for most americans)!

don't take one, period! in my humble opinion, NOBODY should take one...young, old, everybody in between!...that's who I include

instead, eat right, exercise, take you daily vitamins, drink orange juice, etc.

screw the "government" and their mass "injections!!!

of course, that's just my opinion...

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

its 'cos I owe ya, my young friend...
Rockin' the FREE world in Tennessee since 1957!

Yeah, definitely. I am

Yeah, definitely. I am going to see if my doctor will give me 5 or 6 of them actually.
