Asian banks out of gold

I am in taiwan right now, and I went through hell to get money transfered here to buy gold. When I went to the only bank that carries gold coins today, they had none to sell. No gold, no silver - not now not next month not next year.
Then I went to small gold shops which are everywhere here in asia.
Nobody had gold to sell. What I think though is that they have it but they don't want to sell it :)
I finally found the last two pieces in the smallest crappiest store and that's it - I think I just bought the last two crown-shaped, tael-sized gold blocks in taipei.
I have a total of 3500$ in gold, bought at 930 USD/ounce the first time and 915 the second time.
As I did this I got completely out of US dollars, so two birds with one stone.

also unavailable domestically. Good luck finding it. All the sites I've checked are showing out of stock or "delay" on those bars. Sure you can get NWmint bars, but for assay purposes, I'd prefer JM, Englehard or one of the COMEX approved refiners.
