Reasons to Carry a Gun Today
Reasons to Carry a Gun Today
My old grandpa said to me son, 'there comes a time in every mans life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to take an ass whoopin'.
I don't carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.
I don't carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.
I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.
I don't carry a gun because I'm evil.
I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.
I don't carry a gun because I hate the government.
I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.
I don't carry a gun because I'm angry.
I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.
I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.
I don't carry a gun because I'm a cowboy.
I carry a gun because, when I die and go to heaven, I want to be a cowboy.
I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man.
I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.
I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.
I don't carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.
Police Protection is an oxymoron.
Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime,
they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take an ass whoopin'.
'Be who you are and say what you feel...Because those that matter...don't mind...And those that mind...don't matter.'

Well in Canada....
We have been disarmed for years, as long as I can remember anyway (48 years).
We had the gun registry scandal a few years back that cost tax payers about a billion dollars or so (not sure how much, but one "F" of a load of doe).
We are pussy's compared to you guys in the states. A walk in the park for the gestapo pigs we have here.
We are sitting ducks.

It would be nice to carry a gun on you at all times but there are states who ban it!
California is one of them.

Damn Left Coast!! I'd go buy a...
pitchfork or two...
...and start on the now "powers that be" that brought the current chaos upon us.
I found it made more sense to learn how to shoot a gun
verses catching bullets with my teeth.

I sure have been brainwashed
Reading this made me leary about posting. As an American I should be proud to be a gun owner, but the way "they' twist this stuff around it makes me uneasy.
Has anyone tried to get a weapons permit SINCE being an out spoken lover of liberty?
Also on another note... I'm watching "Criminal Minds" and it's about a FLDS type raid... the place is called Liberty Church Ranch or something, they are libertarians I'm thinking geeze "they' are painting us as kooks for loving our guns, rights & liberty's.

I had to resubmit my concealed carry registration due to a change of address... I still passed the check just fine... I've stood out on corners with signs, wrote letters to the editor, wrote many outspoken emails to my politicians.
My only true test now is passing a freaking TSA threat assement check. I'm currently awaiting that so I can get my hazmat endorsement for my job. I better pass too! I've never had any run in's with authorities in any form at all due to me being more politically outspoken.
I've even bought guns since becoming "awake".
You don't need a permit
in Vermont, though they do a background check. I passed it in February, we'll see if I can pass it again in the near future as I'm starting to shop around tomorrow.
As for TV shows, most paint any kind of liberty-lover a kook.
I'm not against you carrying a gun...but I don't want one..
I'd rather be a hermit and eat wild fruits and berries and live off the land than accidentally shoot myself in the foot with a gun.

I'm going shopping tomorrow - for a 9mm.
Hi Katie!
Don't listen to the "big caliber" guys. You'll be fine with 9mm. It's way less expensive and will drop an assailant just as well. The best I've found is Federal HST. #'s 6 and 7 in the first pic here:

I have 17+1 and will keep shooting until the threat is running away or on the ground.

I'll look into them. My friends (4 brothers - 15 up to 21) all recommended a 9mm for me. They cut their teeth on guns (not really - but they started young).
9mm semi auto
I did very well with when I had one...I am getting a mossburg 20 guage
pump action pistol first and then probly a 9mm and a 22 rifle. I also may get a compound bow as I used to be pretty good with one!

A 20 gauge pistol?
I have a Mossberg 20 gauge pump-action shotgun. Picked up at a gun show, barely used, for very cheap this February. Very nice gun.
The sound of the pump-action alone is a very good deterrent.
don't fall for thye stuff
don't fall for the stuff that a 9mm is better for a woman.. a woman can handle a .45 acp easily if she wants! I can double tap with a .45 quicker then someone with a 9mm and get a better group.. its all about practice and getting rounds down range! the .40 will knock a jerk down.. a 9mm is suspect! and again it comes to shot placement. but having a heavier faster bullet gives you an advantage!

A 9mil against a guy with a vest is like using a BB gun pointed at your butt at about 20 feet.. Get a small .40mm.. Not as harsh as a .45 but will send someone thinking... Giving you time to move closer and inflict damage on flesh... (a peace loving, gun toating Christian)

In my experience
40 is much more harsh than a 45. I've shot my full size springfield XD40, and then shot my friends compact Taurus pt745 which weighs much less and is quite a bit smaller.. and my 40 has a lot more recoil. And yes, I know how to properly hold the weapon to control recoil... the muzzle barely jumps... but the 45 is more of just a firm push, rather than a harsh snap that the 40 has.
Well put.
