You know me...I gotta plug Dave Ramsey when I can
His book and radio show pounded my irresponsibleness to its knees, allowing me to pay off my debt.
I believe that being debt-free should be a required goal for anyone part of the Revolution...along with several other empowerment goals (gun ownership, good health, etc.).
Here's a link displaying various times Dave discusses credit scores . He basically says "You don't want to spend your life building your FICO score, because it's just an "I love debt" score."

In one show, he says as children we are taught that our school grades defined who were ... and that was wrong. As adults we are taught that our credit score defined who are ... and that too is wrong.

How can you complain about the governments out of control spending when your doing the same thing with your own finances? - an epiphany I had a few years ago while listening to Mr. Ramsey. Then I worked my ass off till I was no longer an enslaved hypocrit - you can do it too !

I call it the "debt
I call it the "debt worthiness score". It's really a measure of your ability to maintain debt like a good slave. I stopped worshiping my credit score long ago, and have been debt free (and personally free) ever since.
It is amazingly ironic how much "stuff" a person can buy when their own income isn't going to service debt. So all that stuff most people buy on credit can actually be paid for out of pocket when you're not in debt.

you are so right..
the only debt we now have is our land...it is amazing what you can do when your income isn't going towards interest for impulse buys...I am pretty sure that America's prosperity was at one time built upon the foundation of saving and not debt.
