Gov. Schwarzenegger VETOS CA REAL ID ACT!! SB 60 VETOED!!
Got an E-mail from the Terminator himself today:
Thank you for writing to urge a veto of SB 60. I appreciate your active participation in the democratic process, and I value your suggestions on how government can better serve the people of California.
I am pleased to inform you that I vetoed this bill after extensive consideration and thorough deliberation of arguments from both supporters and opponents of this issue. This bill does not specify how the Department of Motor Vehicles would validate the identity of individuals who do not have documented proof that their presence in the United States is authorized under federal law. I have previously stated that the ability to verify documents used to establish an identity must include a way to determine whether an individual is who he or she purports to be. My veto message for this legislation may be found on the Official California Legislative Information website: www.leginfo.ca.gov.
Again, I appreciate hearing your opinion on legislation that affects the future of our great state. Taking the time to communicate your views and offer suggestions is essential to good citizenship and good government.

-He did it because all the states are broke.
-to many people know what is up and how they intend to use the DMV to implement the Real ID.
- He said it himself he wants better proof for implementing the program. (in other words he loves the program it is not strong enough for him yet.
- The way he wants to get the proof is Biometrics (eye scans fascial recognition finger prints DNA. If it would have forced those things on the people he would have signed.
- Doesn't matter the DHS is already turning the SS card into Real ID and it will be done with fedel money. Where do you think the $630 billion that DHS got went to. It will be used on SS ID's you watch and see and if you don't take it the'll turn you off. Once your card is turned off and they catch you will lose their Constitutional right and your citizenship (we all know where non-citizens go right). They forget according to the Constitution our rights are dirived by God.
While everyone is feeling they are fighting the good fight against the DMV license Real ID the Fed government is working overtime on the SS ID.
They have been working on two ways of bringing it in one through the DMV and the other through SS cards everyone seems to not be speaking out against the SS card plan they feel like they beat the DMV one and now everyone is watching the war and the economy and all the corruption while the Real ID SS cards have gotten no attention.

If its an ID and its set in place with a federal law then it is a national ID.

Seems to me that he might have vetoed this because it is not strict enough in regards to proving identity. How can someone unequivocally prove that their paperwork is true? Maybe the gov is planting the seeds for adding some sort of bio ID to birth certificates, etc, etc.
Also, CA is basically broke - so they cannot afford to implement the Real ID.
In addition, I've read elsewhere that the Real ID has been basically derailed because too many were against it. Maybe those in the know are using the failed Real ID to score points with the masses by vetoing any related legislation, etc.

Notice he vetoed it not because it is unConstitutional and unAmerican but because it would be difficult to accurately implement. So what kind of American is that?
There's a good reason...
SB60 was intended to play to the latinos. While it adopted the Real ID Act, it did so only if illegal immigrants were able to get drivers licenses. This is why it has been strongly opposed here in CA.

If you look at his own statement which he made after the veto, you will see that he vetoed it because he didn't think REAL ID wasn't strong enough.

Seeing as how RealID was to be implemented with NO federal money I don't see how Arnold could have NOT veto'ed this thing. California is bankrupt. No way they can implement something like RealID. They can't even pay their electric bill.
