My computer can no longer visit this website

Please HELP. Yesterday my firefox began giving me an error everytime I visit the dailypaul. I have no issues with any other website. Only the DailyPaul.

I'm signed in right now from my girlfriends mac.

I use a PC with Windows 2000 and the latest version of firefox. IT has been working fine up until yesterday and I have changed nothing on my computer. Did something change on the site, or am I being hacked becuase I visit this site SEVERAL times a day.

I love this website. The videos and links you all post are the most interesting, educating, and energizing and I really want to fix this issue with my computer.

I tried deleting all the cookies and cache. Re-started, still I can't view this website.

IT'S THE ONLY WEBSITE I CAN'T VIEW.

I have a few suggestions for you to look into.

1. If you have Windows XP, Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and look through that file to see if it contains the text "dailypaul"

That is a file on your computer. You can simply copy what is in bold and past it into your web browser location - your web browser should display the contents of the file.

2. Click "Start" then "Run" an in the Run window type in "cmd" then click "ok." In the next window that comes up, type in "ping dailypaul.com" and press Enter. The text that is returned will have a part that is "Reply from" followed by a number. Reply back with the number that comes up for you, or let us know if no number comes up.

3. From the same window, type in "traceroute dailypaul.com" and press Enter. Copy the last line it returns which is just prior to the "Trace Complete" text. Paste that line in a reply here.

All of this will tell us if there is some sort of connection issue between your computer and dailypaul.com

In addition:

Yesterday my firefox began giving me an error everytime I visit the dailypaul.

Post the text of the error you receive as well, it might be helpful in figuring this out.

Restore it to the day before yesterday or the last time your computer was working perfectly. Then try to remember if you visited sites you normally don't & stay away from them.

I use Win2K SP4 Pro. Noticed Firefox 3 started acting up. I tried different things with the Preference settings, but ended up uninstalling it. After getting rid of the Mozilla subfolder in my Application Data folder, I installed version 2. Been using it ever since. IE6, Opera 2.96, and my default browser (Firefox) all work beautifully now.

I use Firefox Preloader (starts up much faster that way!)
