I don't have a link the tickers change every few seconds

I have 2 different "Widgets" on my Google page and both had the DOW down to 1041 for a few seconds and then it snapped back to -300 then back down to -859 then back to -300.

For the past few days I've

For the past few days I've been trying to understand just exactly what causes these huge swings in the market. We've seen these swings for a while now. I want to know what causes them. Is it billions of dollars being moved in and out of the market at any given time? What causes the huge rebounds or huge losses the moment the market opens? How is that much money moved in and out of Wall Street within a few minutes of the opening bell?

Because of the 30 - 40% loss in the DOW

It takes less money to make the swings more violent.
