Pentagon Recruiting & Retention Goals
Submitted by TomJefferson on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 11:18The Pentagon gang is live on CSpan admitting that when times are tough, they see increases in enlistments. They are selling the military as opportunity to serve, get a MBA, loan forgivenss programs, sign on bonuses, waivers for people with drug arrests,...SELL SELL SELL!
They had an anecdote of how one recruit had a criminal record which included use of a fire arm. His life is now turned around and he even earned the silver star.
(David Chu Defense, Undersecretary for Personnel and Readiness, is main speaker. Brig. Gen Alfred Stewart from the Air Force is recruiting commander.)
They even have a suicide prevention course for retention purposes to help soldier handle their stress... Nice perk?
When will they admit that they can't sustain policing the world much longer. He is now talking about viewing it as public service. Funny, I have been hearing Obama talking about promoting pubic service...hmmm...shall we connect the doubespeak dots....

as a veteran who's only been out 2 1/2 years...
i now find joy every time i find out another soldier was killed. not as much joy as i get when cops get killed, but still joy nonetheless. that's simply because i see it as one less person i might have to fight here in the US. i still have friends serving and they are well aware of how i feel. and everyone of them can't wait till the day they can get out.

Yes,
and that would be the worse thing for them to get our young men and women to continue their agenda.
