Mohammed: A Libertarian?
Submitted by ksa4liberty on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 17:02A very interesting series of 4 youtubes. I for one, being a Muslim since I was 17 and having lived among Muslims in a Muslim country for around 30 years, sincerely believe that Islam is very libertarian at its roots. This man who is a guest on antiwar.com radio, being a scholar and way more learned than I, explains what I mean better than I ever could.

Every man
his own army and his own tax agent. And for the ladies? Islamic family law (part of sharia) provides women administer their own fortune (a provision missing in most western lawbooks until the last century) and even the husband of a wealthy woman has to support her.
It's really worth to learn more about the Islam.
Freedom brings People together
Ron Paul was right
This is very true...
most women that I know keep all their earnings as their own, unless they want to contribute the family budget. The husband is obligated to provide for his wife and children (clothing, food, housing, schooling, whatever) however the woman may keep what she earns as her own and invest it as she pleases. The issue of women's rights in Islam are much maligned by western/world media.

thought I would try posting a link to some interesting information that can help to disburse some of the clouds of deception so often laid down by the MSM and other media regarding Muslims.

I have many Palestinian
I have many Palestinian friends who were my classmates at school, as well as a couple of Iranian friends. I haven't seen them in a while. They were all Christians. Whenever I hear the term Islamofascists come up, under Neo-Con's breath, it just pisses me off! I mean, if we mention anything against the Zionists, they claim that you're being an anti-semite. We live in a society full of hypocrisy, all this labelling just makes me sick to my sotmach. If you don't fit a certain stereotype, they think YOU are the weird one. BTW, are you a Muslim or not? Just curious, that's all.
I agree with the too much labeling...
as Dr. Paul says, labeling and putting people into groups just adds to feelings of division (paraphrasing loosely here). People should be regarded as individuals. The Qu'ran states that all people are considered equal, and can only better their status through piety. That is why the pilgrams on Hajj all wear the same white clothing from simple toweling, to remind themselves that all are equal in the eyes of the Creator. Yes, I am Muslim and very libertarian minded :)

Do I recall correctly?
I seem to remember from a year ago that Ron Paul had quite a bit of support from the muslim community in the US, particularly in Michigan?
My apologies if I am mistaking a religion for a race for a national origin.
Yes, you recall correctly.
He was the only candidate to attend the Arab-American (conference/symposium?) and I believe he has considerable support among them.
No need to apologize, I would imagine not all Arab-Americans are Muslims, although a majority probably are. There are even quite a number of Arabs throughout the Middle East who are not Muslims. Your confusion is understandable thanks to the media always portraying Arabs as Muslims only.

If we were to leave tommorrow from their lands, they would not pursue us.

The slogan press on has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.
