Why Ron Paul Cannot Win The Nomination

Don’t get me wrong. I am an avid Ron Paul supporter. Never before have I prayed, put out yards signs, attached bumper stickers on my vehicles, contributed money or talked to so many people about a candidate. For Ron Paul I have. Ever since I could vote, I have cast my presidential nomination vote for candidates with conviction and who appeared to put America first. I voted for Ronald Reagan’s second term (the first election for which I was old enough to vote) and since then I have stayed with independent parties like the Constitution or Libertarian parties. I am a registered Republican and usually vote that way at the local and state levels, but nationally I would have felt violated by voting for the likes of Bush, Clinton or Bush.

Now we have a man with strong convictions and moral beliefs who does not sway. Ron Paul is a man of trust and courage that is not caught up in the mudslinging and negative campaigning that most other candidates without substance fall into. I have never been so passionate about seeing an individual elected which is why it pains me so much to know that he never will. It pains me because I see so many deceived Americans putting foreign interests first that a man who believes in the Constitution and the rule of law does not stand a chance of winning unless there is a change in the fundamental belief in the minds of the majority of Americans.

Many reasons are given why Ron Paul cannot win the Republican nomination—not enough media exposure, too many people in power will lose their power, too many people depend on the entitlement system, he will be a horrible Commander In Chief, he does not support Israel, he does not support our troops, we must be the moral police of this world, etc., etc., etc. However, these and other obstacles can be overcome through Ron Paul’s message of small Constitutional government that protects individual liberty and promotes personal accountability. His message is concise and logical and to argue against it is to argue against the Founders of this country and the government they penned.

The support of Pat Robertson given to Rudy Giuliani this week typifies why Ron Paul cannot win the presidential nomination. In this country there are millions of fundamental Christians who believe that the State of Israel today is the re-gathered Israel of the Bible. (My Christian beliefs prohibit me from sharing this view as I only have to look to see which peoples of this world have fulfilled the over 200 prophecies that God gave to His people to identify them. No people in the Middle East have ever fulfilled even one prophecy, let alone all of them.) These Christians believe they are commanded to bless Israel unconditionally and through that blessing, they in turn will be blessed. This belief transcends national identities and boundaries and put America second when it comes to voting for what is best for America.

Ron Paul’s position on Israel is the correct one—treat Israel no differently from any other country, do not be involved with Israel with alliances and offer no more than free trade. This position does not sit well with the majority of Americans who are willing to put their misguided faith in a false doctrine above the interests of this country.

Why would a man representing the conservative Christian right support a social liberal? It’s simple. Pat Robertson stated that he got to know Rudy Giuliani really well on a flight headed back from Israel. Both men are strong supporters of Israel who believe that it is our duty to defend and promote the State of Israel at all cost. Despite these many obvious reasons why Robertson should not support Giuliani, this one fundamental issue is enough to overlook all the others. With the majority of Christian Americans holding the same belief, this is why Ron Paul cannot win the Republican nomination.

I pray every night that I am wrong and that we will awaken to our calling and our heritage. I am reminded that most Christians were to be blinded until the very end to their identity, but I can’t help but hope that the awakening is now.

Ron Paul is the courier of a powerful message. But this is not Ron Paul’s campaign, this is America’s campaign.

Pat endorsing Rudy is good!

God is in control. If Pat was not to endorse Ron (he didn't) then to endorse Rudy was the next best thing. Bob Jones III endorsed Mitt Romney. All we need to happen is for Dobson to endorse either Huck or Thompson, and Gary Bauer and/or Don Wildon from the FRC or AFA to endorse Thompson, and BINGO - the Christians voters who are "SHEEPLE" will split behind their respective leaders (i.e. the group they trust most). As a Christian, I'm encouraging my brethren to be Bereans and research the candidates online and not to buy into the media slant against Ron Paul.

Ron Paul can win. It may even be divine. Is there a doctor in the house?

good troll-bad troll?

Help keep the these silly griping rants down. Look at the posters time on this board.... only support legit posts.

I notice that they might be playing "good troll-bad troll" to keep their rants high without it seeming all negative. When the post is about to die, they post what seems to be a positive post, only to be followed by a string of negatives from other "posters"

For fun track both sides and see if you see the pattern.

Don't post a reply if you do.... let's kill negative rants.

The poster of this thread

The poster of this thread has a really good point. My sister, an evangelical born again Christian (who really likes Ron Paul and has donated BTW) did tell me that her discussions with her church friends have led her to believe the same thing. The conception that federal aid = support of Israel. The fact that we give arab countries more total aid than Israel, the fact that we make Israel funnel the aid back through our military/industrial complex.. none of that is known by the majority of America's christian base. They believe that if we (America) withdrew the $$, then we (America) would lose God's blessing.

My meetup has a chip-in going right now to try and address this problem.. we are going to run Ron Paul for President radio ads on our local Christian stations in an effort to educate these people.

As long as I've brought it up.. anyone wanna help?

pat and rudy

these two have no chance to win....Pat is a Calvinist and Rudy the Warmonger. a losing team. I am Glad Pat endorsed Rudy!

woo hoo!

I don't know who you are,

I don't know who you are, Paul Weber, but if I were you I would take a long hard look at what Calvinism is or what Pat Robertson believes. It's beyond idiotic that anyone would label Pat Robertson a Calvinist. I think, also, that it's rather idiotic that one would think Calvinism would be a bad thing, but that's just me.

Pat is a Calvinist???

Huh?

If U R a RP supporter!!

Then welcome aboard... Why you would post a topic header like you did is beyond me??? I AM A RON PAUL SUPPORTER!!

I find your reasoning flawed... I believe, and I am a Jewish American, that Ron Paul's position on Israel is THE BEST FOR ISRAEL!!

Israel is NOT a weak Country and I in no way read ANYTHING Ron Paul says and anti Israel... I believe whole heartedly that IF Congress EVER declared war in support of Israel and Ron Paul were the President.. He would excute a winning war...

I should add however I really have to imagine to come up with any scenario in which Israel would need the U.S. to come to its aid militarily..

Plus I find its the Likud party that benifts mostly from U.S. support.. and I would not support them if I lived in Israel

Peace

RON PAUL- He is PRO Israel!!

"avid supporter"?

Who are you kidding? Look up "support" in the dictionary, and you'll see that spreading defeatism hardly qualifies.

Ron Paul is still a longshot

But he has a chance. And his odds are steadily getting better.

I have been a reader of www.mises.org for a long time. I knew of Ron Paul, but never thought he had a chance to draw a national following. Even when he ran, I didn't think he had a chance so I didn't take his candidacy seriously. Then I saw all the interest he was drawing on the internet. But, I never thought he would raise enough money to really compete. And then $5.3 million shows up. The campaign said they needed $12 million in Q4, and I thought they could never do it. And I never thought the 5th of November drive would yield much. Then $4.3 million showed up and Q4 funds surged close to $8 million before the half way point.

Dr. Paul and his supporters have accomplished the near impossible this far. We are much closer to our goal than we were at the beginning. We have a lot of work to do. And we have to give ourselves a chance to get lucky. Because so far, fortune has smiled on us. Maybe it is time.

And even if Dr. Paul doesn't win, we can win long term. The amount of support and money that Dr. Paul has attracted, shows other potential candidate that this type of message can work.

Not Now, Not Ever

We don't need this crap now. This is what everyone is talking about. There is always someone to thinking to hard about how Ron can lose. Who runs a business finding out ways you can fail. Who supports a candidate finding out ways he can lose. Stop posting this shit. Pat Robinson is a joke and his endorsement does no one any favors. We just made HISTORY on the 5th. We have another big day on the 11th which is Tomorrow. That is where our focus should be. All we can do is support Ron, donate, and get the word out. If America is ready for what Ron is saying, he will WIN. IF not, I'm moving to Brazil. It's just that simple. WE are making History funding a Candidate better than any Special Interest and Chinese Lobbyist. the more people hear from HIM the more will vote for him. Lets stay focus and keep up to Great Work. Everyone is doing a good job and we still have many more days before the first American votes.

Research

John F. Kennedy School of Government students did an analysis a while back of all the candidates running. Can you guess who they said would win?
Yeah, hence the media attacks start mounting evermore.

photoshopwiz's picture

Okay, who?

I have not heard of this analysis...did they say Ron Paul?

worth a look

An interesting number-crunching analysis that shows that Ron Paul can win, using current polling data...because so many Ron Paul supporters will actually vote in the primaries (will Giuliani supporters flock to the primaries with as much dedication as us?)

http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig7/muratore5.html

Difficult, not impossible

I have acknowledged from the start that Paul is, as the media loves to say, "a long shot". But that is very different from impossible. If he doesn't win the primary in New Hampshire the citizens of that state should at least have the decency to paint over that "Live Free or Die" motto on their license plates.

The only reason he won't win IMO

is because Republicans think strategically "Who can beat Hillary?". RP supporters have to give these people reasons why Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who can beat Hillary. And it's because he is the best, least corrupt candidate possibly ever. That's why. If we can make the Republicans who think Giuliani/Romney can beat Hillary see that Ron Paul is by far the best candidate on every level, we can get them to switch to Ron. Plus, a lot of people just back winners.

This is not a wasted thread at all.

"What does conservatism today stand for? It stands for war. It stands for power. It stands for spying, jailing without trial, torture, counterfeiting without limit, and lying from morning to night."

The way to win

We win when we capitalize on the discontent with BOTH partys' broken promises. Present Ron Paul as he is, a man with out guile, who cares for this country and our rights. There is always a way to find a issue that will draw people to Ron Paul. Most people are not single issue voters, so find the common ground between them and Ron Paul .(there are likely to be more areas of agreement than disagreement.) I talked a solidly pro-choice person into considering Ron Paul by mentioning the war in Iraq and the IRS. These issues seemed more important to her than Roe v Wade being upheld. (Admittedly, I explained that IF Roe v Wade were overturned, the only thing it would do is turn the decision about abortion to the state level.)

123 GO!

Two days on this board and already caving

Ron Paul will win the primaries and then take on H/C and win again in the general election. Get your spirits up, we don't need downers on this board. If you don't feel RP has a chance, then go find another board to bring your negative thoughts to. Things are tough enough getting the attention of the Voting Populace. PMA is the key. Let's all talk positively since it seems to be working so far.

Good luck in whatever will make you happy in the future. RP winning is what will make me happy and hanging around positive guys and gals.

I Feel Your Pain, But There's Always Hope

It's so easy to think things are going to get worse after they've gone well for so long. It's almost like "it's too good to be true," and human nature sets in and begins to doubt.

I'm running as a Delegate in my state, and I was going door-to-door today getting petition signatures for Ron Paul. As I was doing this, I ran into some of the most apathetic, unpatriotic, and down-right rude people I could ever meet in my life. It made me feel upset at first, but then I realized that we're in a "war" right now for our liberties and Constitution. It's almost inevitable in a war that you'll have some people fighting in the trenches, and others "riding the benches."

I share your sentiments about the way certain "Christian" leaders have betrayed their Bibles and congregations by supporting the most ungodly candidates. I'm a Christian, myself, and I find it frustrating that many of my brothers and sisters in the faith are being led to believe that some candidates (Rudy, Mitt, and even Mike) are worth their time and vote. Yet, the Scriptures teach us that "by their fruits shall ye know them."

So, Ron Paul Supporter, don't give up and don't doubt what's true. This rEVOLution is most necessary, so just keep on doing the good job you've been doing in spreading the message! That's what's important. Only time can tell what will become of our efforts, and God willing, we'll have a Doctor in the White House instead of another lawyer...

Pro-Israel . Pro Ron Paul

It's too bad many on the Christian right support government aid to Israel. I, for one (Christian who loves Israel) would rather send a direct donation to Israel than have it go through the red-tape required to aid Israel now. Not only that , but as Ron Paul said, we attach strings to the aid we give them,,,don't negotiate with this state,...ad nauseum. Requiring them to give up land for peace to keep our aid....I think I want my money back! Hamas is a far bigger danger to Israel right now than Syria, yet we want Israel to negotiate with a people who would elect Hamas..............( 'Palestinians')

"RP Cannot win The Repub Nomination" Because of Phophesy?

Pat Robertson has shown that he is no more a champion of an Independent and Constitution-minded Free America than David Rockefeller is the epitome of honest competition. He started showing his true colors back during the Clinton years with his support of the sovereignty squashing North American Free Trade Agreement. Rockefeller and his Council on Foreign Relations losers had worked hard to get NAFTA approved and Newt Gingrich and Clinton with the help of Establishment shills like Robertson got it passed in Congress. God doesn't need phony preachers (what does the Bible call them? - "false phophets.") to put up sign posts predicting His next step. Anyone who purports to know God's Plan for the "End Times" or says that the "tribulation " is right around the corner is no more capable at pronosticating than a medicine man reading a pigs entrails or some one reading a tea leaf. Unfortunately false prophets do deceive large numbers of people. Our job is clear- speak the truth, stick to principles and address the un-Christian like behavior of these false prophets. Prophet-----Ron Paul

There are too many misled Christians and false prophets endorsing what ever candidates tickle their ears. Just look at World Net daily columnist Janet Folger, for example. Providentially, Ilana Mercer is also on World Net Daily and she has a clue. Her column "Return to Reason" points out the hypocrisy of Huckabee this week.

In defense of

I see nothing 'trollish' about the above post. We do have some hurdles to overcome, and the poster is just naming another. I read a post on another site, (maybe a youtube vid, can't remember), that stated 'we must continue to protect Israel'. The poster there said he/she wouldn't vote for Paul on that alone.
Ron Paul Supporter is just pointing out another issue. There was a post on here a few days ago about pastors having a problem with not supporting Israel. Since RP is the only candidate who clearly states where he stands on issues, he's the easiest to find differences with.
I also don't think we can go by how long a person has been a member of this forum. Many new members are signing up every day, and we can't attack them for being new. I myself was a guest for quite awhile before joining, and my first post was about the Amero. Turned out my link was for a concept coin by the Franklin Mint. I felt like an idiot, and didn't want to post anymore, but was encouraged by others here.
We will all have different ideas and opinions, none of which are wrong; only facts can be right or wrong. If someone has a fact wrong, correct it with a fact. Our goal is to get the message out, and by the numbers online, we're doing that. We can't chase people away for being new. I only heard of RP a couple months ago; many still haven't.
While you may not agree with some posts, to attack someone's opinion is not the way to attract supporters. There are pessimists, optimists, and realists here, all supporting RP. Can't we just all get along?
(Just my opinion, neither right or wrong).
