Operating room nurse Pauline Taylor knows her refusal to get a flu shot is based on faulty logic.

But ever since she got sick after getting a shot a few years ago, she's sworn off the vaccine.

Such stories frustrate Dr. William Schaffner.

As chairman of the Department of Preventive Medicine at Vanderbilt University, he hears that kind of talk frequently and knows it's in part to blame for a surprising statistic — nearly 60% of health care workers fail to get a flu shot.

Schaffner argues that getting vaccinated for the flu should be standard for doctors and nurses, just like washing their hands. That's because the flu virus can be spread so easily.

"Being in close proximity to patients, having conversations with them, bending over their bed, seeing them in the clinic while you're doing procedures, you would be breathing out viruses and spreading influenza into your patients," said Schaffner, who is also president-elect of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases.

The nonprofit group educates the public and health care industry about the causes, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases. It gets about 75% of its budget from major vaccine makers, but executive director Len Novick said the money comes with no strings attached.

I don't take them and hopefully my blind old lady will not force my child to take them. Me personally I do not believe everything the doctor tells me. As a matter of fact I'm starting to think of them as drug pushers. Look around you there is a damn pill for everything which is more than likely caused by bad food or bad water. The medical community is only around to make money and its not there to cure people. You might say I am full of crap but look at it this way they had a cure for ED since WW2 but its illegal. You ever do steroids? You take one shot every 2 weeks and You are walking around with a raging hard on like You were 14. The problem is the water has estrogen in it and the males naturally produce less when they get older. The medical community would rather charge You 10 dollars a pill for 15 minutes of fun then give you a shot that lasts 2 weeks and probably cost 10 dollars. So I do not have any respect for the medical community or the government for that matter. So stay away from vaccines because it might be the vehicle that spreads bird flu.

Is it any wonder that childhood diseases, including allergies, diabetes, cancer, autism, asthma, etc, have skyrocketed in the past 20 years?

They keep fear-mongering us that polio, measles, smallpox, etc, will all make comebacks if we quit vaccinating, but vaccination never stopped any of those diseases anyhow. They were all in 80%-90% decline before the vaccines were ver introduced, due to sanitation, hygiene and availability of food.

What do they have to say about all the other epidemics that vaccines are causing?

In one recent case in Sioux City, Iowa, more than 1,000 families were notified by letter and telephone that they needed to get their children revaccinated. State officials found that the refrigerator at the clinic that administered the shots repeatedly dropped below freezing over a 17-month period in 2005 and 2006, potentially ruining the vaccines stored there.

"We just didn't notice it," said Dr. Ray Sturdevant, president of the Prairie Pediatrics and Adolescent Clinic.

Poor refrigeration has been blamed for similar problems elsewhere around the country over the past 2 1/2 years:

In St. Cloud, Minn., a clinic had to revaccinate 8,600 patients, most of them children.

In Lane County, Ore., 500 children and adults had to get another shot.

In western Florida, it happened to about 250 children.

Yet ANOTHER reason to avoid vaccinations.

How do you know your clinic is storing them properly?

And just think - if they DON'T store them properly, your kids get to go back for yet ANOTHER round - with NO waiting period - of more dangerous concoctions made up by the pharm companies.

These people need to be imprisoned for this horrible experiment they are conducting on mankind.

Some drugs, which have been proven to cause death, are still advertised on TV. I've read about their hazards but still see them. Thus, people think they are safe. Vioxx was killing people, and drug rep turned whistle blower. I still see adds!!!

I quit taking my satins after many years, after reading (and feeling) the harm the were doing to my body. Against my doctor's recommendations, I might add. When he increased my dose, again, I stopped and did iin-depth research, change many habits, eating healthier, taking omega 3 suplements, eating more foods raw, including eating apples and their seeds.

Quit drinking diet pop, and all pop. Quit using diet and light products as they contain things, including corn syrup and glucose, that cause weight gain and cravings.

Quit using artifall sweeteners as are poison. Quit all products with aspertane, as it is poison. (the down side of eliminating aspertane, is that it is hidden in thousands of products - try to find any chewing gum without it).

I switched to natural peanut butter, and no longer crave it. When I was eating the "light", I couldn't get enough celery with peanut butter on it.

I researched cholesterol, and why it's benefis. By cutting it, they are interfering with or immune systems, and causing possible liver damage. I just read cholesterol is still ok if LDL is 300. If over - some caution.

Now they want to test our children and get them started on statins. They continue to lower the standards for cholesterol and blood pressure, so docs will start medications.

Drub reps are trained by the drug companies.
Doctors, who don't have time for research, BELIEVE the reps and are paid to prescribe their drugs. The reps get huge bonuses when docs prescribe their drugs. It's a win-win for them, and a big lose for us.
Drug reps are trained also to meet docs objections or findings so they will continue scripts. It's the old propaganda thing...

I had been taking PremPro for over 13 years - now docs no longer recommend. Why? Proved increase of heart attacks and strokes of 40% with those who took them. Also, increase in breast cancer. I do believe the Lord was looking after me with that drug. THEY KNEW THIS FOR YEARS!!!

I will NEVER GET A FLU SHOT! My grandchildren will NOT be getting those childhood vaccines, including those causing autism (MMR) or the Gardasil (HPV) for young girls (untested - causing sever side effects, including steriliz ation, even death) nor the HepB, causing diabetes (proven in other countries).

The least of their poisons is mercury. At worst, the added Cancer virus and proof the Aids virus made in a lab and deliberately injected in a few select third world countries.

There is so much proof out there - do your homework, PLEASE. A govt. taking control of our lives, in every way. Financial, freedom, and health! They want to steal it all!

Why no cure for Cancer when billions has been collected and utilized? Because it is BIG business, and the big pharma's benefit. They don't want to find a CURE, they want to medicate, over and over.

The real information:
In 2001, 257 people died from the flu, (CDC, Deaths; final data for 2001.) In contrast, 3,454 Americans died from malnutrition that yr. That same yr there were 4,269 deaths attributed to asthma, a condition some studies have linked to vaccines. Why are we not getting excited about these other higher numbers?
