Audio Books: "Give us this day, our daily Mises."
I must say, this is a new treasure to me. The Ludwig von Mises Institute's website includes countless hours of excellent audio books and other media. This is a greater education than anything one would find in a university today. Go and legally plunder!
(I'm listening to "The Politics of Obedience: The Discourse of Voluntary Servitude," by Étienne de La Boétie tonight...isn't that special?)

The Ludwig von Mises Institute is the research and educational center of classical liberalism, libertarian political theory, and the Austrian School of economics. Working in the intellectual tradition of Ludwig von Mises (1881-1973) and Murray N. Rothbard (1926-1995), with a vast array of publications, programs, and fellowships, the Mises Institute seeks a radical shift in the intellectual climate as the foundation for a renewal of the free and prosperous commonwealth.
It is the mission of the Mises Institute to restore a high place for theory in economics and the social sciences, encourage a revival of critical historical research, and draw attention to neglected traditions in Western philosophy. In this cause, the Mises Institute works to advance the Austrian School of economics and the Misesian tradition, and, in application, defends the market economy, private property, sound money, and peaceful international relations, while opposing government intervention as economically and socially destructive.

Save $100,000's and get a FREE education in TRUTH...
I dloaded the entire mises.org media section.. (about 5gb)...
I suggest you get firefox & downloadhelper.net addon if you wish to attempt this... :D
Only really do so aswell if you are going to listen to it all, help spread the word etc.. They've got to pay for the brandwidth.
Anyway; started listening... 6 weeks ago? 14 days worth of audio later... lol (put them in ipod, listen to uni, work, home, running, riding, itunes here..., before going to sleep)
I've learnt more in that time than a 4yr post-grad at Harvard or Yale does about the real, true economic system... and what's going to happen; - includingly, the ever more important solution.
If you're interested in Austrian Economics DEFINITELY sort through the subjects... and if you are NOT.. there are PLENTY of gems there, that are more than fun, interesting and extremely informative...
If you're not sure; pick Walter Block - search for a subject you might wanna hear more about - Road Socialism, Environmentalism, etc... and give it a go... you'll end up listening to them all, then going for more... :)
Enjoy. I've got a few weeks of audio left.. ;p
Definitely Rothbard's work for sure... ethics of liberty; and for a new liberty.. go now.!
Thanks
I may need to ask you for some help doing this eventually.

One Giant Torrent
I was thinking about downloading their entire media, literature and articles sections and then create one giant torrent for it. Bandwith isn't free, and their bandwith/server costs must've gone through the roof. Unfortunately i'm not home at the moment, but i'm definitely gonna do this once i get back.
For sure... I'm in Aus, and
For sure... I'm in Aus, and brandwidth is heaps expensive.. uploading counts etc.. and I've got caps.. otherwise I would.
Anyway; I would suggest - as this is what I have done..
Make a folder called Mises.org, then from the Media Section keep them in their natural folders... and how it progresses...
I changed the itunes genre to "Vocal" for all of them... and equalizer preset to "Spoken Word"...
There are a few that get the track numbers wrong, or mixed up.. some with half the title missing.. and some that have no title at all... but it's all easily fixed; because if you do them - as you listen to them, you can tell where you got it from; match them up with times, as on the site.. and input the data..
It'd save a lot of pain and trouble for the people who eventually download the torrent... I would also change all the folder icons to a red button.. that way you can track which ones you've listened to.. :D
Anyway, all pretty obvious.. just thought i'd get it out there..
