I think that Ron Paul is partly responsible for the potential to even allow for "bail outs". Ron Paul has been consistent in his admonishment of "Fiat Currency". So much in fact that the Feds raided a precious metal coin broker to alleviate the pressure Paul was putting on the Government

Someone must have recognized the truth to Ron Paul’s words and decided to squash an attempt of citizenry to protect their own wealth.

What is interesting now is that with the financial chaos in the market place, Gold has only held it’s value. Only recently is it coming to light why that is…

The so-called "gold reserves" in Fort Knox most likely either do not exist, having been stolen, or no longer belong to the US Treasury, having been either swapped or leased out. This type of hypothecation and encumbrance of gold and silver holdings is done through misdirection by what are called "swaps" and "leasing."

Remember that elitist insider banks HSBC and Barclays, the main ETF custodians, are international banking concerns and each must use the accounting methods designated by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Non-segregated gold and silver bullion, meaning bullion that has not been designated as being owned by a specific customer of the bank, can be leased or swapped and afterward can still remain on the balance sheet of the custodial bank as one line item according to IMF accounting rules. We do not know whether ETF bullion holdings are added to the banks regular bullion reserves or are kept as a separate reserve or custodial account. Perhaps you might inquire of them as to how they account for their ETF gold and silver custodial holdings…”

It appears The Feds have created a “Fiat” Gold and Silver market as well. It could be that 20 different people have a *legal* claim to the same ounce of Gold held in the repository at HSBC

I wonder if the Feds would have recognized the potential “issue” without the brilliance of Ron Paul bringing it to the front page..

if Gold went to $1200 an ounce over the past 3 weeks, chances are pretty good that the Market would be hovering just above 5000 (maybe lower)..

I doubt very much the morons who brought us the "bail outs of '08" had enough sense to recognize it all by themselves...

while I work. I used to think NPR was a credible news source, but now I call them National Propaganda Radio. All this talk about the economy, bailouts, etc. and not once does someone come on in defense of free market capitalism. Every "expert" that comes on agrees that socialization of our banking system is our only choice at this point. And of coarse no one ever mentions fractional reserve banking or sound money vs. fiat currency. Not once did NPR ever try to explain why people rejected the bailout package to begin with. I try to tell people about this, but no one seems to care. Oh well. It's been quite beautiful outside lately. The trees are changing color and I feel like I'm drinking them with my eyes and getting drunk, like a fine wine...

These huge Corporations will be the winners. Remember, this is NOT Socialism, it's Corporatism (sp?). Once they have power they will determine what drugs are pushed. What technology is is pushed, etc.......This is not about Society. It's about power.

I get SAD :( everytime I hear him speak. Why isn't he our nominee. Why isn't Ron Paul going to be our next president. It just kills me to think of the alternatives. Anyway... great job Ron Paul for being a true statesman.

Certainly not because of a lack of effort on many of our parts. Keep in mind I still educate folks on Ron Paul and spread the message of the Campaign for Liberty. Yes we are waking folks up, but we have 3 weeks left. To be honest I hope he wins Montana and Louisiana, then maybe the electoral college WILL REVOLT! Although I'm not truly optimistic because I have to put too much faith in the everyday average citizen to vote based on making a wise and principled decision, I still have hope. I am working with many others to get Ron Paul like leaders elected to congress and local government.
Didn't mean to sound like I have given up because I haven't. Doubt just floats in and out every time I hear an asinine comment by the average uninformed voter.

I am going to agree with Ron and say vote third party. Where are all the sign waiver now if this is to be a serious effort to wake people up. The Paul supporters are brilliant but have disappeared at a time they can still effect great change with a message that sends shock waves through peoples souls!

...the Creature from Jekyll Island. The folks who wanted the Federal Reserve System put all kinds of effort into denouncing it in order to get it passed. "If the bankers don't like it must be good."

All the current "they" have to do is keep promising no bad times by printing more and more money. 51% or more of people don't care if they print money still, and they are trying to solidify\grow that number. As they finally figured out when selling the Fed to everyone, they know that both sides of the issues must be out there in the mass mindset or there will be no balance. Without maintaining some kind of balance they can't continue their agenda. If they want to continue to own 99.9% of the balance beam they must have appropriate counter-weights. They are specifically using him and his sense and sensibility message as a huge balance weight. Once they have another bajillion quadrillion buttonillion fake-bucks printed they will be able to release that particular counter-weight, and then allow inflation to cut loose. The recent gas price drop is another counter-weight.

This is nothing but a shell game, and they, the money owners, are good at it.

I think its a gamble, if they can pull off stabilizing the economy and start up their new ponzy scheme then they will be able to say RP was wrong and try to discredit him(in the short term). Its all about public opinion, if they can turn it against him(not RP supporters but the sheeple with their heads up their asses) then they will have a group consciousness to pander to and deride him with.
