Do SOME Christians want a Christian Republic?

I'm starting to think this is the case. How will this create true freedom and liberty?

A Christian Republic...

...is a Republic Founded upon the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible. it IS this basis for our unalienable (a lien cannot be placed upon) rights and freedoms in this country. their is no other reason for them except from the freedom that Jesus Christ grants. No religion grants these unalienable rights, no government has ever granted these unalienable rights....it only comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ and from the word of God, the Holy Bible.

if you atheists remove these things from our society and culture...you remove THE foundation to your freedoms that are unalienable...for they will become "lien able" without the authority of God declaring them. for it is only by the fear of God that men are held in check from committing every evil conceivable.

the freedom of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will not FORCE "becoming a Christian" on you EVER. it is a choice you have to make whether or not you will reject or accept the Only way of salvation, Jesus Christ.

yet, without the Bibles system of Absolute right and wrong in a Republic where everyone knows those things that are right and wrong, the Constitution, in all of it's wisdom, shall die...just as it is today on it's last breath. for the Constitution means nothing and makes no sense, without the light of God's Holy word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, declaring the meanings of the words and the expectations of each person who are self governing in the Republic. for if people refuse self control and self judgment...it will degrade into a dictatorship from a "democracy", where everyone decides by opinion, and it always ends up someone will come along who thinks that his opinion is the only one that matters and they will put down all dissenters.

so you atheists are in a "catch-22" situation. you cannot have the freedoms you seek that God calls evil and have a Republic, for it is impossible for evil people to self govern in a good and right way. it is like getting water and oil to mix. look at what happened to Rome, for the founding fathers clearly were thinking about how the Roman Empire fell when they drafted the Constitution, for the Roman Empire WAS a Republic also. the only way you can have a Constitutional Republic again, the way the founding fathers set it up, is to understand the great influence the Holy Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ had on it, and upon the people of this nation. this was for the sake of the (righteous) liberty for all. the only kind of liberty that can hold our for of governing together. so they must be upheld by all.

this, Christian Republic" is what the founding fathers intended and formed. it was also declared by them what would happen if this country ceased being a Christian nation that follows the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ...quotes, again, are here...

Does God want liberty to choose your belief..? The angels in heaven 1/3 went down the tube with satan...why..? The Declaration of Independence states

"...We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, ..."

Regardless of "who/what" each individual views as "Creator", the inalienable rights discussed in the Declaration clearly hinge on their being "endowed by their Creator".
It follows that each individual will naturally place their own view of "Creator" in the role described in the Declaration.
As such, Christians will feel that the "Christian God" is the "Creator" described, just as people with other views may insert their own definitions of "Creator".

In the 1st Amendment to the Constitution, in the Bill of Rights, there is a guarantee that Congress will make no law establishing religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
As long as the Constitution and the Bill of Rights stand, then there will be no such thing as a "Christan Republic", or a Republic establishing any other religion, including humanism.

The only way to change it would be an Amendment to the Constitution to overturn a segment in the very first Amendment in the Bill of Rights, which would be virtually impossible to do(due to lack of support). It would require a super-majority vote in both the House and Senate, as well as ratification by 3/4 of all the states.
There has not even been any consideration of such a thing for a hundred years, and any ancient attempts(during times when the nation was much more 'Christian" by percentage than it is today), failed miserably, and apparently any thoughts of the matter have been abandoned for a hundred years.
So, not only is it not going to happen, but there is not even a "looming spectre" of it happening, nor even an inkling in anybody's mind of it happening. What "some people" might "want" is not any matter of concern in terms of changing gov't policies which are strictly limited by the Constitution. You can find "some people" who'll say anything.

Therefore, it can only be concluded that this topic is intended to dredge up divisive feelings between members on an arcane and irrelevant topic.
A practice which has come to be expected from the OP of this thread.

Nutshell version: God created and allowed freewill (Freedom) for mankind. There would be no true freedom and liberty without God. I'll let you ponder that.

P.S. - If I were to list all the intragovernmental Christian/religious references in America's past and present we would be here all day and all night and then some. It already is a Christian republic...at least it was. So your question should read: Do SOME Christians want to RETURN to a Christian Republic?

You have done it again . This is a divisive question.

If a person answers yes because they are a christian and have a christian outlook then it is assumed they want a theocracy. If they answer no then it would be assumed they put their faith in government as their savior so really its divisive. Christians defend their faith in Jesus Christ above any government entity so it is natural for them to answer yes. Not because they want to force people into their belief but because they believe that God has power over everything on this earth and can change a government in a blink of an eye if he so chooses. They do not think their constitution plays secound fiddle to any man or government official but they feel it does play second fiddle to God. In their heart they know if this country does not find favor with God it will suffer and could be destroyed. A real christian fears god, not because of the suffering that comes from God for being disobedient (which I might add God does not cause suffering it is because God stops protecting and then the devil destroys your life), but because they do not wish to be put out of his presence. They realize they need God not because they are afraid he will be cruel. God is not cruel alot of people get messed up on this point if you turn God down for long enough he eventually leaves you be. Then you come under full attack from satan and he is the destroyer of lives.

I will answer your question the way it should be answered from a christian perspective. I would love to have my entire nation become christian on their own free will It would great. I however know this will not happen. Why, because the bible says many are called but few are chosen. It just isn't going to happen.

Do I want a Republic you bet I do at least until Jesus christ comes. Once that happens I will be more than happy to live under the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords. Alot of people assume it will be a theocracy but I guess that will be for the King to decide won't it. Who knows he might actually be a God of mercy like the book says and he might set up a republic just like our forefathers did. I'm sure it will be as good as what we have if not it will be better. living under a just king who lets people live their life would be wonderful and just think this one would live forever no more thinking about politics. I hate to say it but If I had to pick a government to live under until Christ comes back I would probably feel just as good with having Ron Paul be king until christ comes back then I'm sure he would bow down and offer up the crown to the one whom it belongs.

Next time I would split this question into two questions the way it should be.

Do you want a christian nation?
do you want a Republic?

Our forefather made the most superior form of government since all the way back to the fall of adam at least. I could pretty much handle the Garden before the fall sounded like a paridise to me but in order to get back to it I have to do what adam didn't do. I have to listen, and, hear Gods voice so he can be my God and I can be one of his people. I have to obey him and be born again. If not then I know paridise is not an option. and without paradise I lose his presence and without his presence I am not protected form satan and his suffering. In other words I will be forced to live in a world of Obama or McCain forever. If that doesn't make someone want God I don't know what will.

Do I wish for you to find Jesus? sure. Do I want it to be your choice? You bettcha. All I can do is tell you who he is. It's the same as we did with Ron Paul. All we can do is tell people who he is and what he stands for.

This country is full of non-christians. Individuals of many faiths. A "good" Christian must go beyond what "they" believe and accept that. This is a diverse world for a very good reason.
The whole "you are trying to divide us" crap is getting old. We are having a discussion. I am a Christian and I am capable of having a discussion about my faith and "its" role in my government.

If you have a qoute from a Christian publication I would love to see it because in the 23 years of my born again life I have never heard read or thought a Christian believed in 'bringing in Armageddon' or trying to fulfill prophesy. You/re going to have to explain yourself. How can you square the "Constitution Party" with their unconstitutional platform? Have you taken the time to read it? Do you simply agree with them because you think they reflect your "values", regardless of how those values fit into our historical interpretation of the Constitution? Most religions say murder is wrong and most governments punish murderers. saying nothing is really a broad statement. Our country also passes laws against sex perversion and monogamy. so has the Bible. seems like they work pretty good together alot of the time.

I guess You never studied European history. I don't think any christian wants a theocracy. The reason for this is what denomination would lead this so called Christian Republic. I don't think anyone would like to see the witch trials again. As a matter of fact most Christians would rather be left alone than what is going on right now. The system now is very hostile towards Christians and You would have to be a christian to see it. I wonder why with all the rapes and molestation cases that go on every year the minute a so called christian is involved it goes on prime time news. Their is a attack going on right now on our freedoms by the christian haters out there. Look at this gay marriage crap going on right now.. All some gay has to do is complain that some preacher will not marry them then the government comes in and takes away their tax status. As a matter of fact You can't even talk about politics in church without loosing You're tax status. I find it kind of sad that the separation between church and state is a one way road.

Why not support the separation of government and marriage or the abolishment of the tax-free status of churches; or taxes in general?
