Do Not Abide The Lesser EvilSubmitted by zeuslgn on Wed, 10/15/2008 - 18:53
In the coming weeks and days ahead as we close in on Election Day, you will be faced with a moral dilemma. Friends, relatives, co-workers, talking heads on the boob tube and others will attempt to coerce you into choosing the lesser of two evils: Obama or McCain.
"You're wasting your vote.", they'll say. "You don't want the more evil guy to win, do you?" As a counterpoint, I ask you: when has this ever succeeded in the past? Has choosing the lesser evil made us more free? Has it lessened the hold government has in our daily lives?
The answer is no. It will always be no. The mainstream candidates are simply two sides of the same coin, and if you read the Daily Paul, you know this already. Still, the temptation to throw away your principles will be there and it will grow and fester until you've cast your vote.
I ask you now, if you've chosen a third-party, be it Ron Paul's endorsed candidate, Chuck Baldwin, or one of the others, I ask you now to stick to your principles. Summon up every ounce of will power you have and cast off the temptation to change your vote at the last minute.
The only wasted vote is one for someone you don't believe in. Voting for the lesser evil is still a vote for evil and I WILL NOT ABIDE EVIL. PERIOD.
I hope you won't either. Thanks for reading.
