GASOLINE PRICES
Below a link to gasoline prices in the US.
I am posting this so we can all learn about charts and their natural movement.
Of course nothing in the created reality that is our world is really all that natural, but. we get sooo many posts that predict this and predict that.
Predictors are just that. They attempt to tell the future and once in a while they are right.
Just understand that if you paid attention to the all the doom oriented posts on this site for the last 6 months...you would have died for the following reasons.
Starvation (food shortages, I'm still 15 pounds overweight)
200 dollar a barrel oil (oil shortages...Shell station prices in my neighborhood are crashing along with the Dow)
$3,000 an ounce gold (I guess this would be a gold shortage)
Killer bees ( I know I know...but they were gonna kill ya weren't they?)
Chemtrails (we just don't have any where I live and i feel left out)
Y2K...(we were all gonna die..remember?..I think this is the one Alex Jones got famous on...your bank is gonna croak and all the nuke plants are gonna melt.etc....ouch)
Bird flu (I don't know any chickens personally, but, they taste good)
Martial law ( the ratio of citizens to law enforcement is about 900 to 1 assuming all the military and law enforcement "went along." This is like 100 cops going to the Michigan State against Penn State game and arresting everyone...do ya think they'd put them all in them FEMA trailers?.....might be more entertaining than the game...I'm thinking the buckeye defensive backfield could probably wrap up a hundred cops in a pinch)
Planet X hitting earth and blowing us all to smithereens (bad planet X! Go away planet X!)
2012...(oh my God we are all gonna get it when the Mayan calendar kicks in! Did anybody check with the Mayans on exactly how their calendar jibes with the roman thang we been using for the last bunch a centuries? This 2012 thing is a joke right?)
The Chinese are gonna invade...(at least we'll get a good price...you know? they work cheap right?)
Your Mom's three bedroom ranch on the quarter acre is gonna be worth $585,000!!! (actually the real estate price chart for the last 10 years was just a big graph waiting to come down...and it did...sorry Mom.)

The price of gasoline is not really going down. The ability of the worthless slips of paper in your wallet to buy things is just going up.....this chart stuff is hard to escape isn't it?
Now to the reason for the post.
The dow is crashing?
Wrong.
The dollar is simply gaining strength against share prices just like it is gaining against everything else.
The predictors who are telling you that the dow crash is going to create famine and misery are just the same folks who predicted that list above.
It is chart movement...it is life. You telling me Shell Unleaded is going to go to ZERO?
I guess not...huh?
So stop thinking the dow is gonna go to zero cuz it is not going to happen anymore than planet X hitting earth...I guess it would get all those sub prime mortgage brokers off the hook wouldn't it? Maybe they are the ones who thought up the X thing?

early on, about a year ago, that the goal was to "remove a zero." So if someone had $400,000. By the time this insanity is over, they will have the equivalent of $40,000.

Most likely they will deliver at that price, and then the wholesaler will mark it up to +$2 and the retail will take another (though small) cut.
I won't hold my breath waiting for $1.60 gasoline a year from now.
Deflation is the natural
Deflation is the natural result of inflation (that "they" do). It's unavoidable. It's sad you're not aware of this. The deflation obviously won't be permanent. They're actively trying to put trillions of dollars to work to get inflation going again, to "prevent" (merely delay) the deflation, and that's what we should be concerned about.
They're attempts at this point are generating a lot of inflationary potential. Hyper-inflation is definitely increasingly likely in our future.
The constant government intervention meant to "protect" us will likely make things worse and/or last longer than they would if the government would just let the businesses fail outright. They're preventing or slowing the necessary corrections so production of wealth can start running efficiently again. They're interventions are nothing more than redistribution of wealth, and only slow real production of wealth.

I'm confused (not really)
While the price of gasoline has come down some where I live, it is still no where NEAR what it was the last time Oil was at $70 a barrel, which it just hit today. (on the way down this time)
Also, I don't know of anyone predicting absolute zero for the markets, just really low compared to where they were. Say 5K on the DJIA instead of 14K. It's already at 8.5K or so and falling. Not much further to go. And it might fight it's way down there over a longer period of time.
Can you or anyone else explain to me, if inflation is really an increase in the supply of money, and rising prices are but one effect of that inflation (which I know does not translate on a 1:1 instantaneous basis) then how is it that while the Fed is exploding the supply of "dollars" aka FRNs, does the purchasing power of those FRNs go up? Since there are more of them in circulation, should not their purchasing power be going down?
Or is it that there is massive DEFLATION going on in terms of debt being wiped off the books, and thus FRNs being wiped off the books, at a faster pace than the Fed can shovel new ones out of the proverbial helicopters?
And if even with all of this, there is a flight to hard assets to preserve capital, why are so many commodities and real estate tanking badly? Shouldn't the huge demand for real assets drive their prices up? Wouldn't such demand, especially for commodities send the CPI higher? (which is in fact going up) But wouldn't this mean the purchasing power of the 'dollar' or FRN is tanking rather than going up? (as it appears to be doing)
Or is it that since we don't have an independent 'standard' to judge all of this by, everything seems wacked out?

I have followed economic and finance for 37 years.
1929 was not an accident. They shut off all the liquidity to centralize their control and they did. Just study the era and you will see that is exactly what happened.
Once you understand 1929 you will see 2008 is just another "oh my we need the government to save us!" scenario and that is exactly what they are doing.

I'm well aware of the pre-planning of all of this
I was just trying to follow the details. They don't seem to add up. Besides, to think that they COULD plan everything is to admit they CAN plan everything. Which markets time and again, prove is impossible.
While they can really screw things up for everyone, and while they can manipulate a lot of stuff, you can't PLAN an economy. The present economy is 6.5 billion chess pieces each with it's own unlimited movement and it's own autonomous player. Try thinking through just ONE complete move on that board, much less 3-5 moves ahead. NOT POSSIBLE.

Where do you suppose they are moving their 401k money to? Money market funds. Wait until the 700 bil hits, inflation rises and people start dumping those same dollars.
Things are not good but you make a good point.
I agree that we need to temper our predictions of "end of the world" scenerios. When the sky doesn't fall our movement loses credibility. We have problems, very serious problems but lets not speculate too much and have the masses start to turn a deaf ear to the truth.

Question about deflation
Say I have $10,000 in a 401k. If my 401k is deflating, does that mean that it is actually worth more than it was a few months ago?

No Chemtrails in South Louisiana
I don't know where the original poster lives, but we never see skies like I see in chem-trail photos. Never. We do have the occasional jet trails on certain days, but those are obviously vapor trails as they disappear behind the jet and they only happen at high altitudes under certain conditions.
I'm not saying some places aren't getting sprayed, just not all of us are.

Much steeper drop in election years
I was predicting gas would drop $.75 -$1.00 before the election. Its not a surprise looking at the historical data since 2000. Whats scary is how it will be $6 next spring when the dollar crashes, get those bikes out.

Once again they think I'm nuts when I tell them the price of gas is a ruse they use during an election to con the masses into to believing things are under control. The Governement is an Oil Business they choose what the gas prices are just like their fiat money, it's all a lie.
Once they don't need to lie to you anymore the price will go through the roof with some fancy explanation of course to validate the lie.
