$11 On 11/11
Submitted by EileenMac on Sun, 11/11/2007 - 07:38I am sending $11 on November 11th Veterans Day, which used to be known as Armistice Day.
Armistice Day was the anniversary of the official end of World War I, November 11, 1918. It commemorates the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning — the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month."
After World War II, it was changed to Veterans Day.
In addition to my $11 (and $11 each for my two daughters), my goal is to tell 11 people about Ron Paul, and to hand out 11 Ron Paul For President cards.

Why such small amounts?
This is creating a bookkeeping nightmare for the campaign. They also have to pay a transaction fee as well. Donate what you can in one big lump today and be done with it. That would be my advice.

I donated $11 today. I
I donated $11 today. I can't afford much more after the 5th, but I'm saving for the Tea Party.
We're an e-commerce company
We're an e-commerce company and do all of our business by credit card over the web.
Merchant Fees are 2.1%. Per Transaction Fees are .20.
An $11.00 donation would generate .42 in transaction fees.
That's a pretty good rate
But not everyone gets the same deal. Ron Paul's campaign may be worse, or may be better. I've not heard anything about it from the official campaign.
Anyway, it's a fairly minor matter. If you really want to send in an EXTRA $10-$11 dollar donation today, then sure. It will certainly help much more than it will "hurt."
It is just better for the campaign to get the money in slightly larger "chunks" than several "tiny" donations... But hey, whatever way you're sending in your donations, in big pieces or small... Go for it!
As of 8:05 AM ET
We're up $43,758 in the past 8 hours.
At 8:05 AM ET, we have raised
$7,867,404
Keep those donations rolling to support Ron Paul
and to prove that we support our troops.
IMPORT OUR TROOPS!
If you do, PLEASE send a CHECK
Yeah, its a cute idea and all... But if you use a credit card to donate $11 online, a somewhat large percentage of that donation will be deducted by the credit card processors as fees.
(Not that I want to discourage anyone from donating!!!)
Much the opposite: Please donate ALL THAT YOU CAN. But if you can only afford a small (under $25) donation, you will help Dr. Paul more if you pony up for the 41 cent postage stamp and actually send a personal check in an envelope.
Me, I'm going to save up my money and make another $100 (or hopefully larger) donation next month...
How Much?
Register Republican To Vote in your State's Primary! How much do the credit card companies charge?? What if you use a Debit card?
Is there any way to donate online and NOTE incur fees?
Register Republican To Vote in your State's Primary!
All online donations have some fees
But again, they aren't usually "huge." It varies depending on how good a deal the campaign is getting from their bank/credit card processor.
$3- $4
Is the usually charge.
