we need to fix this problem...but the more you tax people (who are already taxed to death) the less money there is available to provide liquidity. strange times we are living in, we have the thousands of TV channels and we have to research foreign media to get a report on the protest on wallstreet in NY????
that anytime the staus quo is challenged, a host of "alternative lifestyles" crawl out of the woodwork to jump on the bandwagon or to seize the moment.
I suppose you have to expect that kind of thing. But our revolutiont is clearly grounded by the constitution and another good reason RP ran on the Republican ticket.

First time commenter. I am glad to see Al Jazeera reporting on the things that we should be hearing in English North America. It reminds me of the times that I have heard events reported about in western newspapers about China, or Croatia, or wherever.
Nader looks a little tired out. He lacks the philosophical integrity of Ron Paul. However, I do like to see somebody stirring up trouble on Wall Street and in DC or wherever the perpetrators are operating.
All that aside, the main point of my comment is this:
Did no one see Jon Stewart last night, October 15, 2008? Jon Stewart hosts a lot of viewers each night and he exclaimed, "Ron Paul '08!" near the second half of his show. This is good news for Ron Paul supporters!
Also, on The Daily Show, I think it was 1 or 2 months ago, Samantha Bee played the character of a Ron Paul supporter. I don't know if that was to make fun of the RP movement or not, but hey, no publicity is bad publicity, right?

Nader is a good man but misguided and the protest is just a media tool for anti-capitalist propaganda and government regulators. Democrats from congress were touring the NYSE today trying to get ideas for new regs; maybe they should tour the bathroom and look in the mirror. Already there is talk of a "New Deal #2" from the Dems if Obama wins which would further socialize the system, give the government more power and take away freedom and opportunity from main street. What was it Kucinich said? "WAKE UP AMERICA!"

Since the government is supposed to monitor transactions for fruad, someone has to pay for that, and it might as well be the people using the system. Better to tax stock transactions than durable goods. Also, A tax is better than a license, since this would reduce access to the markets.

Those knuckleheads always fall back on the mistake stuff.
And then purposely make the same mistake to "solve" the problem. If people in the private sector act like that, they're committed.

Nader wants sales tax on market purchases?

I don't know a tax on market purchases is reasonable

Ya, I think Nader is beyond repair on some very
important and key issues. He believes that it is okay to use violence (ie. through the institution called 'government) to get things done.
He is however very good on peace and civil liberties.
Sigh, Nader again showing his authoritarian
roots. More taxes. How are those taxes going to be enforced Ralph?
