Halloween: Effective and effortless outreach opportunity

0 votes

On Halloween night, I plan to sit by the door, reading. When the doorbell rings, I will open it, give some candy to the children... and give two documentaries to the parents.

The two I've chosen are The Money Masters and America: Freedom to Fascism. You can choose whichever documentaries you want, of course - whatever you think is best to get the word out.

I'm burning copies myself. I've bought 100 count boxes of blank DVDs and paper sleeves from Stables. Between the DVD and the paper sleeve, each documentary will cost me 40 cents. Since I'm giving away a pair of documentaries to each adult, that's 80 cents for each adult. I burn copies in the background while I'm web surfing, so it doesn't take any additional time out of my schedule. After a few evenings I had a nice stack of 50 of each documentary burned, labeled (with a Sharpie marker), and ready to give out.

For labeling, I wrote the name of the documentary at the top of the disc, then (DVD) underneath it to make it clear that you can play it in a dvd player, and finally, "Pass it on!" at the bottom to encourage the disc to continue propogating.

I hope you consider doing the same. Thanks!

It is a good idea... people

It is a good idea... people will be coming to YOU. Who's to say you cant hand out pocket constitutions, dvd's to open eyes, stickers with Ron Paul on it(with a url to C4L), if you creative you might sew some wrist bans/head bans with Ron Paul on them. All options and many others for the financially endowed of course.

The cREaTuRe

from Jeckyl Island would be a good thing to hand out on Halloween if it were on DVD.
Would be costly though.

Money Masters

Hey guys, I don't think it's wise to use the Money Masters documentary to spread the word about Fed. Remember, the maker and narrator of the movie is a strict opponent of the gold standard - he basically roots for fiat money, only issued by the government not Fed. And that's almost equally bad idea.

Probably "Money as Debt" would be more useful, but it also contains one major fallacy - everything it says about interest is simply wrong.

We really need an educative, comprehensible, simple and factually correct movie to explain our parents and other people, what's going on. But I for one don't know about any such one yet.

I will be handing out...

pocket constitutions. 100 for $30. Education of children, priceless.

I think I will do this myself!

Thanks for the fabulous idea! I hope you pass a lot of em out! I will definitely have to try this out! all I need to do is buy some blank DVD's. Keep up the great work!

God bless America!

Total investment? Dvd

Total investment?

Dvd writer
Blank Dvd's
Movie Dvd's
necessary software
time
all expenses
patience, for the return on your investment is dependent on the people(ah, to or not to hold out hope for the sheeple)

I leave anything out? Sure, its a good idea. But not everyone can afford to do it(fiscally anyway).

Great idea

If I do it to I'll label it "Money Masters scariest movie ever!"

My pleasure!

I believe the most important thing - likely, the only thing - that will make a difference is information. I also believe the most effective way to improve the rate of information transfer is to find low cost, low effort ways of doing so that can be incorporated into your normal life with little to no change. That way we can keep doing this for the rest of our lives, rather than burning out, as happens with a high-effort intense political campaign.

For example, I keep copies of documentaries in my car and attempt to give them to people I run across as part of my normal life - the toll booth person, the bank teller, the grocery checkout clerk, etc.
