RNC chair race begins after election - we need a Ron Paul Republican to take the helm
http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/10/new_nam...
marc ambinder from the atlantic reported on this over the weekend & mccain is gunning for his closest allies -- 11 of them -- to get the job. others mentioned in the article include huckabee, romney & sarah palin.
i know it's a long shot idea to get a RP candidate in the running, but this will help set the tone & direction of the party moving forward.
the gop is fractured & the bush/cheney/rove ideology is (God willing) a mentality that is entering its last days -- as evidenced by the desperate, failing attempts to reignite the neo-con support w/fear-mongering & hate speech.
a positive move in this direction can help prevent future rp candidates running for the white house from being dismissed & marginalized the way ron paul was during his run.
so what do you say? anyone have any ideas?

What about
Sarah Steelman? She run in the Missouri primary for governor and almost won. She has advanced degrees, is smart and attractive, her father was a local RNC chairman and a Goldwater Republican. She is very principled and anti-corruption as state treasurer. As a woman it will also show renewing of the GOP and be an attraction.
Otherwise (or in any case) in 2010 she can run for senate.
The type of person
we need is someone who has been in the GOP for a long time, is well respected, perhaps someone from the North or West (in the article they say they are not looking for someone from the South again) and that has sympathies with Dr. Paul, someone dynamic and someone that can unite the party on core principles. Perhaps some of the meetup groups may know such a person.
someone just came to mind
although he's a libertarian & not a repub -- but adam kokesh. there is great power & passion to the tone in his speeches. & he would certainly give a younger, modern face to the gop. plus, he's a vet.
who could we even run? We
who could we even run? We have no one...
there has got to be a bj
there has got to be a bj lawson or peter schiff type of person w/in the party willing to run. & if lawson doesn't win his congressional seat, why not lawson?
i'm sure dr paul would have people in mind for the job, no?
On Ron Paul's Mind
I'm sure that if he does, he is well ahead of us on this thread.
