Should we all be voting GOP in this year's US Senate races?
With Bob Conley being the exception, of course, I am starting to believe that it is our duty to hold our collective noses and vote GOP in all of the United States Senate races on Nov 4th. Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of many of them, but I really fear the permanent damage that the Democrats will do to all of us if they end up with the Presidency, the House, and a Supermajority in the Senate. I really believe that these socialists are more dangerous than any group we have ever had in Washington, and to allow them to have uncheckable power would be incredibly dangerous. A large dose of partisanship and obstruction may be a very good thing in the coming years. Fillibuster is our friend.
I would really appreciate any thoughts that this board could offer on this topic. Talk me off the cliff if need be, or any atta boys for those that are in agreement w/ my thoughts above. Where do I have it right? Where do I have it wrong?
PS: Before I get any mole accusations, let me state for the record that I would never vote for McCain. Not in a million years. As far as the House goes, I advocate voting ones conscience.... even if that means write-ins or third party votes.

Brand Names
Republican is a brand name.
Every brand has some bad products from time to time, and I would never recommend a bad product to a customer even though I liked the brand.
Some times a defunct brand name is taken over and resurrected with a new line of products. This happened to the Republicans with the neocons. The old products were better, and new management is about to take back control of the company.
Some bad votes can be forgiven. I have a hard time forgiving the Senate bailout vote. To me that was a deal breaker. Selling America down the river is the uiltimate political sin, in my book.
I say if
If a senator supports polices that are not aligned with the Constitution kick them out, plain and simple. The Democrats will be betrayed by their own party and position us for more power in the future.

I don’t think it is wise
I don’t think it is wise to uncritically and categorically commit to vote for any one group of people. Look at the options available to you individually and choose accordingly.
That being said, the overwhelming likelihood of an Obama victory ought to push us somewhat in the direction of supporting those least likely to support him in his most outrageous stunts, which will, in most races, be the GOP candidate. But still. If that candidate is complete scum, and there’s a decent third party candidate, or (do these even exist?) decent democrat, I wouldn’t advocate voting for the scumbag just because. Show some judgment, but consider the likelihood of an Obama win a nudge in the direction of voting GOP.
Voting out all incumbents
Voting out all incumbents who have violated their oaths of office may be our only remaining power. Please tell me if there is another way to stop this train wreck.
One correct vote out of a career of robbing and looting the American people does not count.
Please
I will be offline all day. I hope some one will keep this bumped today.

I won't be
My Senator up for re-election is Mitch McConnell, who was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the bailout, so he has lost my vote. My other choice (besides the loathesome Dem) is the Indian guy from Predator. Hey, at least he's buddies with Jessie Ventura....
My GOP rep (Geoff Davis) has my vote, he voted against the bailout twice, and that's good enough for me now.
The CFL website (below) has a list of how each congressman voted for the bailout. Not saying this should be your only criteria, but it's a good start.

voting
Voting GOP???????????? WTF? We're way past that facade. You should already have food, guns, and gold stockpiled, and a bible. Voting, give me a break. Democracy is long gone.
The NWO is here buddy. Time to wake up and go into survival mode.
I gave plenty of money and knocked on plenty of doors for RP, but now it's reality time. It's time to protect the asses, and the assets you love the most.
I'm with you, navypat.
All the way. GOP????? WTF is right.
I am going race-by-race to determine who to vote for.
For instance, in the case of our cheating NV State senator, Bob Beers, the GOP traitor/collaborator that stole the delegates from Ron Paul at the witchhunt they called a "delegate convention" (you all prob. know that story), I am voting for an Independent candidate that has not spent one dime to advertise (this same guy ran for State Treasurer a couple years ago - not a cent in funds spent - and still got 80,000 votes!). There are lots of ways to make effective use of your "cancel" vote (if voting can be called legit at all). Some Dems, Independents, a few Republicans will get my vote with the "Other" finger to get rid of the incumbent BUMS, and throw them all OUT. As for POTUS, since I don't think he applied to be written in here, I must vote for Chuck.
Yes, case by case is best! Take a look at this moronic

Freedom is only for those with the guts to defend it!
That's really nauseous-making stuff there. Thanks for that, girl
These incumbents are just DESPERATE to keep their cushy jobs, and it is really sickening to see that none of them (the RP exclusion always applies) have one iota of responsibility to their constituents, or their oath to uphold the Constitution. It's just a mad dash to say/do WHATEVER they have to to get re-elected.
This is the game that has been played for the last 50 years
and has gotten us into the position we are in. Vote the bums out. Any GOP incumbents, except for the handful that have solid records need to be removed. Yes, it will be a big push of the pendulum towards the left but that is the only way to get it to swing to the right. If we continue to have the GOP spouting the correct rhetoric and then acting worse than the Dems then we will never have any real change. Let the Dems take the blame for the next 4 years, which won't be good. It is the only way that the differences can be made clear. If we have GOP candidates in there the blame is shared and the slow march to socialism will continue and their will be no stopping it, let it show itself to be what it is, a failure and we can stop it.

What about our guns?
I have already promised my Republican senator that I would actively work to keep him out of office because of his bailout vote. I can't break my word.
When reading through these comments, however, and all the talk of a dem contolled everything, the question comes to my mind....what about guns? Schumer and Hillary salivate at the thought of gun grabbing.
"It’s not like I’m just trying to win and get elected. I’m trying to change the course of history." ~Ron Paul
The Republicans have proven
The Republicans have proven themselves to be liars on this issue. There's really no difference in the two parties on guns; it's more smoke and mirrors like their so-called interest in 'smaller government'.
Examples:
-Ronald Reagan publicly endorsed the Brady Bill.
-The first assault rifle restrictions were put in place by George H.W. Bush
without even putting the issue before Congress.
-GW Bush supported mandatory trigger locks on handguns and supported the Clinton/Feinstein assault weapon law.
-John McCain has one of the worst records on Capitol Hill regarding the Second Amendment and is a major-league gun grabber.
SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States
SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States
Yep, don't think they won't take our guns
The socialists wouldn't hesitate to do it if they thought for a millisecond that they could get away w/ it, all under the guise of "protecting us from ourselves"... and w/ the house, the executive, a super-majority in the Senate, a handful of leftists judges that they will place on the Supreme Court??? What would stop them?

Let this sink in...................................
Meanwhile it was the republicans who rammed FISA through Congress and the Senate. FISA along with republican complicity in passing HR1955 and both Patriot Acts. It seems we will vote republican to keep our guns, (sort of), while at the same time our 1st, 4th, and 10th Amendments have been virtually gutted by all of our representatives. American history and this mess we find ourselves have shown us what BOTH parties have done to our beloved country.
I say vote EVERY democratic and republican incumbent out, unless their entire voting history merits them retaining their jobs. (Ha!) The ratio will stay the same and those no good thieves will know we mean business. I want these looters quaking in their shoes with worry over losing their jobs.
I am very serious about this. I hate it when we try to find excuses for these swindlers. I too have been guilty of this in the past. But no more. IT IS NOW OUR ONLY POWER. For pete's sake let's use it. Because the police state has taken every other resource away. GET IT? And if you find yourself wavering while at the voting booth, just picture Nancy Pelosi in your head. That out to do it!

I understand your concern
I understand your concern but disagree. While less evil is a good thing, it is still evil.
We must each vote our consciences and support constitutionally-minded candidates as much as possible.
We the People have allowed our government to get to this point - it is only now getting bad enough for such a number to stand up and take notice. And now, We the People must take our lumps.
I, as a registered Republican, would love to see the GOP return to its roots. However, as long as the socialist "I'm-too-lazy-and/or-stupid-to-care-for-myself-so-please-government-come-help-me" agenda is either popular or expedient the GOP will cater in order to win votes. The GOP must be broken in order to change.
And just wait until issue-liberal but fiscally-conservative Dems see the extent of the socialism, and the anti-war Dems see the warmongering, of a united Democrat-controlled government - we will soon have plenty more people to add to our movement.
I too am leery of a Democrat Super Majority...
but:
A) The GD Republicans need a good thrashing so that they get back to the basics: Fiscal Responsibility, Non-Interventionism, and limited government.
B) I personally think that there isn't much we can do to stem the tide in this election cycle; its too late and the Republican brand is in the toilet right now. Tis better to let the Republican establishment fail under its own power so that next time around we can either come along and 'rescue' the party, or rebuild a new party from it's ashes.
C) If we let the Country have a Democratic President and a Democratic Congress then we just might get a Democratic Depression/Recession which, God willing, will mortally wound their party.
Right On!
Once the GOP has been destroyed and is in a state of disarray, then and only then, will they be forced to reorganize and rediscover the genuine conservative/libertarian policy principles that have been best articulated by Ron Paul.
This will create the unique opportunity for a redefinition of the GOP and new figureheads, most likely led by Ron Paul himself.
The new Party will be a new major political force, that will then challenge the Democratic Party, and reestablish the U.S. Constitution once again as the guiding document for the governance of our Nation.
We know that Ron Paul would win any debate with Obama, or any other Democrat, on the logic and merit of the issues. All we need is a level playing field to succeed.
To get there, we need to defeat and destroy the Neo-Con, pro-Totalitarian, pro-Oligarchy, pro-Empire GOP construction that exists right now, while the opportunity presents itself.
Then, the Ron Paul movement will rise, like a rocket, from those ashes!
Yes folks!
Certainly NOT!
Just look at the track record here.
Which political Party has obstructed our most sacred right --the right to Vote-- and has been in collusion with the E-Voting Systems, and has been actively stealing Elections (Katherine Harris, Ken Blackwell, Jack Abramoff, etc.), and totally screwed-up the 2008 Primary and Caucus voting for Ron Paul? GOP
Which political Party wants to keep on wasting away $10+ billion dollars --that's $10,000,000,000,000.00 folks-- each and every month in Iraq, (an amount that far exceeds anything that the other Party wants to do), for ever and ever and ever? GOP
Which political Party has been asserting Totalitarian-style government Secrecy and Dictatorial "Executive privilege" the most? GOP
Which political Party is universally behind NAFTA 100%, and behind the RealID movement? GOP
Which political Party defends the disasterous policies of the last 8 years, which have been the worst in American history? GOP
The answer to all of these questions is the GOP!
They need to be thrown out of office.
This is the Party that you want to avoid.
While the Democratic Party is also screwed-up, the United States has never before experienced such concentration of wealth in the hands of just the extremely rich & crooked, such high corruption and overt dishonesty, and such abject incompetence, as it has in the last 8 years.
The GOP should live in infamy.
And it should be totally destroyed and replaced by the Ron Paul/Liberty movement going forward.
Think!
That will not happen if they get re-elected again.

Vote the incumbent party out.
I voted early, and did a split ticket. I voted Green Party for president, independent for Attorney General (Robert Owens), and then Democrat for everything else (my district has been Republican for its entire existence. We need some new blood.)

Yep, me too. I can't stand
Yep, me too. I can't stand the thought of the Dems having so much power. However, Mr. Cornyn ignored the will of his constituency and therefore must pay the price.
Me too, for Schick
And I also told him adios.
Also I am voting against Culberson, even though he voted against the bailout. He supports too many of the other things, like war and Perry.
Totally agree about Cornyn. My last letter to him informed
him that I would dedicate myself to seeing to his retirement from the U.S. Senate. Kay Hutchison isn't any better....and she's wanting to be governor of Texas. Lindsay Graham in S.C. needs to get the boot as well. Hopefully, the S.C. citizenry will help bring that about.
