When the Republican Party begins its post-mortem on Nov. 5, perhaps it will start to become clear that Dr. Ron Paul has been right all along. Even if he isn't the 2012 nominee, his ideas are in a great position to be carried forward.

Yes, we're taking over.....!
In our state RP supporters have taken over the GOP elected offices in the two largest Legislative Districts in the state. The neocons went kicking and screaming...literally in some cases. I'm sure they're planning a counter-offensive, but for now we rule the roost. In one of the district elections we totally skunked one of the "annointed ones", a delegate to the recent GOP National Convention. We won all 5 spots, with our lowest vote getter receiving more than twice the number of votes that the "annointed one" got as the top vote getter of the neocons.

Iowa is pretty much a Nazi state--always has been. I think my home state of California is even worse. (At least my Representative—Steven King—is pretty decent. He voted against the bailout both times, for example.)

From comments he made at the state convention I would guess that he is also in favor of Bush's ideas on foreign policy. I haven't verified that though. Perhaps you would know if he is another republican warmonger.
We are catching on, of course the GOP will never admit it.
Radio media will never admit it, but we are catching on...they are starting to come to their senses.

When the Republican candidate for president openly campaigns AGAINST the current Republican president, anything goes. That gives me free reign. RP supporters should just talk about "going back to traditional conservative values." Everyone will agree on that. They will not be energized, but we will.
I think there is a point
I think there is a point here that has been missed.
We don't need the existing rank and file of the GOP to take control of it. It does not matter if they are all scum bags and degenerates. If you look at the statistics, the majority of the GOP executive committee positions are empty. What this means is that you don't have any opposition to get those positions. Just go to the meetings, keep your mouth shut about Ron Paul, and get elected to the open slots. You don't need to argue with anyone, convince anyone of anything, or confront anyone. If we can fill all the open positions we would have the majority and win by default. Also, if we happen to find supporters or make converts along the way, well that's fine too. This strategy, given to us by Dr. Paul, is so easy, simple and obvious, many people can't see it at all.

I agree that we will have a great opportunity to takeover the GOP and restore it to its original principles. But more important today is that we really do have to abandon the idea of a political party and start focusing on our local communities and abandoning the government. The day will come (sooner than later I'm afraid) when our economy crashes and many government laws cease to exist due to a lack of ability to enforce them. We must stop depending on government NOW so that we are more prepared when the rug gets pulled out from under us.

Strategically, it's smart to use the ridiculous two-party system to get our message out. Ron Paul ran for president as a Republican because he knew he'd get on to the debates and spread is message nationwide.
Our message is so rational and consistent, chances are it will have an effect on all political parties.
To me the political party thing is so ridiculous, I look at it like it's just a name.
I wouldn't mind if Jesse Ventura runs for president in 2012 as a Democrat or Republican, as long as he could get in the debates.
He could openly say: "I became a Democrat so I can get ballot access and get on the debates".
I would be totally fine with that. As a matter of fact, I encourage him to do that.

If you mean "kicked to the curb" as well positioned,then I guess it's a matter of perspective.
I know RP said it is the easiest way,but I think he is wrong on this one.
He is not well positioned to do anything to stop this. I would be surprised if he has had ANY affect on the current affairs.
I think third party is the only way. The Repubs and Dems are a bunch of brainwashed idiots.
People will need a fresh start and a party that will welcome them when they wake up and ditch their former party.
Too bad RP didn't see this and run independent. It was a tremendous mistake in my opinion.

We have to be "everywhere".
We need to be Republicans.
We need to be Democrats.
We need to be Independents.
This is 4th Generation warfare.
Trenches are nothing more than fighting the previous war with outmoded tactics.
In districts where Democrats often win, run Democrat challengers..
In districts where Republicans often win, run Republican challengers.
If you can't get nominated to challenge an incumbent from the same party, find a way to get a RP person nominated as a challenger from the other major party.
If you can't push in anywhere else, run Independent.
Get an RP person into as many races as possible, somehow, someway.
This way there is no easy way to "pigeonhole" us as opposition, because we're not coming from the traditional "party positions" even if it may appear like that from a superficial observation..
It strains their resources and upsets their normal "trench warfare" strategies. It pushes them out of their normal element, which can result in them making some mistakes. Exploit everything you can.
We "piggyback" the apathetic voters into voting for us, when we do this.
It's important to capture that segment of the vote that "just pulls the lever" for one of the major parties.
We can be in all of them.
Just be there!
Don't make a spectacle of yourself about trying to "take over". Just be a nice little infiltrator, and make friends, and get nominated. When you get into office, you then do what's necessary for freedom. Play it smart.
We must be everywhere.
Remember the old Bibilcal adage, "Be wise as serpents, and gentle as doves".

I believe that Barr was placed in the Libertarian party in order to appear as the spoiler to McCain, who was always supposed to lose. The race will appear close enough to cast the blame. The hope is to channel the pain of loss into killing the libertarian gains that Dr. Paul has created. It won't change us, but it will stop new converts.

I've been thinking
along those same lines. Lots of people don't believe the neocons can change but you have to remember - the country and the world will be much different 4 years from now.
In the meantime, we cannot allow them to forget how the neocons lied to us all during these past 8 years.

mccain has 11 of his buddies in mind for the top spot. & the neocons are also considering huckabee, romney & palin (if mccain loses).
