Brokaw didn't ask Powell how he could pinpoint the dates a crisis is going to occur. I would have immediately asked that question. So would you. But apparently Brokaw wasn't even surprised. These people must laugh at us "little people" behind closed doors all the time.
What crisis will it be? I suppose there are many possibilities. Perhaps it will be "terrorist" related.

His phrasing is what caught my attention. It wasn't that he said, "I am sure there will be some unexpected surprises come January 21 or 22 that we can't even foresee at this time, but we will need to do what we need to and make it through.."
No...He said, "There WILL be a crisis on January 21 or 22 that we don't even know about yet..."
His word choice stuck with me. I guess we shall see.

This statement is very telling:
