Can anyone else verify this? Here's the email I received as well as the attached PDF.

“The California SOS certified Ron Paul today as a write-in candidate. Attached is the official letter from the SOS. You may write him in knowing your vote will be counted.”

Ron Paul Becomes Qualified as Write-In Candidate in California
Posted by Eric A. Garris at October 23, 2008 04:34 PM

The California Secretary of State will announce tomorrow that Ron Paul has been certified as an official write-in candidate for President.

This means that write-in votes for Ron Paul in California will be counted, although the numbers for write-in votes are rarely reported until weeks after the election.

Some observers have predicted that Paul may get as many as 250,000 write-in votes nationwide, although they will not be counted in other states. Ron Paul is on the ballot in Montana and Louisiana. A Montana poll released today gave Ron Paul 4.2%, exactly the difference between Obama and McCain (Bob Barr receives 1% in this poll).

In order the qualify Ron Paul as a write-in for California, former Libertarian Party state chair Gail Lightfoot recruited 55 electors who had to file notarized forms with the Secretary of State.

In 1976, former Senator Eugene McCarthy received more votes as a write-in in California than Libertarian Party candidate Roger MacBride (who was on the ballot).

On a personal note: I must confess that I contributed $200 to Bob Barr during the early days of his campaign. I am so disappointed with his campaign that I am serving as an elector for Ron Paul from California, and will be writing him in on my ballot.

PA counts write-ins!

I called the PA State Election Board on Friday and asked them if write-ins were counted in our State. The gentleman I spoke with said they definitely are counted and if I were told differently, it is untrue (actually, he called it a lie). The only write-in vote that would be discounted is if it were a duplication of someone already appearing on the ballot. My neighbor has been a worker at our local election for many years, and she told me that they always counted every write-in vote and then submitted the count to the County Board, where they were then forwarded unto the State. The gentleman at the State told me the same story. Can anyone prove differently for the state of PA?

IT WAS ON THE NEWS TODAY

I was listening to KFI AM 640 this morning and they announced that RON PAUL is now an official write in candidate in California.

I have always voted to protest the Establishment parties

I have considered Ron Paul's endorsement of Chuck Baldwin. I still find it difficult to vote for anyone other than Ron Paul. I like Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader as well. I voted for him last time around. I voted for Ross Perot before that. So I'm all over the place. I like candidates who have a conscience and a true sense of patriotism, justice and honor.

Ron Paul is my President, regardless of the outcome of the elections.

Let it not be said we did nothing
