If we don't get hundreds upon hundreds of signatures immediately in Illinois Ron Paul will have no delegates to send to the National Convention.
PLEASE HELP by doing the following:
1. We have delegates but many of those delegates HAVE NOT sent Jason Acebel their forms. If you are a delegate and HAVE NOT sent in your form contact Jason ASAP at ilpetitions@gmail.com and let him know when your form will be mailed.
2. If you can take time off work or give 2-5 full days to gathering hundreds of signatures email Jason at ilpetitions@gmail.com with your phone number and best time to call. THIS IS MISSION CRITICAL. Please DO NOT contact Jason if you cannot give this amount of time. Many of you are gathering a few signatures and that is fine. Please keep up the good work but unless we get some major help soon Ron Paul will not have delegates. Jason does not have time to respond to a lot of emails. We need at least 1 person in each of the 19 districts to give us 2-5 days to get the job in that district done.
3. If you can commit full time for 1-3 days to make phone calls for Jason Acebel to call our delegates please email Jason at ilpetitions@gmail.com

Our group is canvassing the N.E. corners of Lake County to get signatures. We are hoping to have a few hundred within a week. I have the petitions from a meet up last night. One guy there mentioned a web site to show how many more signatures are needed. Is this site up yet? I would like to keep track.

We need 1500 more signitures to get Ron on the ballot.
Currently we are 1500 signatures short to get ron on the ballot.These need to be turned in before dec 5th, or ron will not be a candidate in IL
Additionally there are petitions to get the delegates to be delegates.
If you live anywhere in or near IL call Jason Acebal at 773-775-3136 for the forms and locations. Contact any nearby meetup group. A great way to show support. This MUST happen.
Remember, this process has to be completed in every state.

A. Type of signature needed [delegate/ RP/ or Both]
i. Total number required (6000 , to be sure)

B. number of districts requiring assistance (is this a state wide thing, 19 districts)

Heres a form found at the illinois board of elections if you would like to pass it around to get signatures to get Ron Paul on the Illinois primary Ballot.

Please don't use this form!!!!!
The form you linked to is a template! People need to get the offical forms from the campaign. Also it is important that the circulator doesn't sign the form until witnessed by a notary. All circulators should really be briefed before going out.

Absolute deadline
The absolute deadline for the delegate petitions is Monday November 26th. The petitons need to be notarized and in Jason's possesion on that day and no later! We are short signatures in EVERY district. This is absolutely mission critical that we get people canvassing in Illinois. Everything is not fine I'm sorry to say.

I am frustrated
How come the campaign is not taking care of this with a more proactive approach? This is mega important and can't be left just to a few grass root meet-ups. If necessary, the campaign needs to hire and spend money to gather signatures and finance the delegates. I am giving money to win and win we will if the campaign gets as active as the grass roots.
Don't Worry
Few if any of the other candidates have gathered all the signatures either. This is just another big pain-in-the-a** law that we're dealing with. How to get your man on the ballot without upsetting the lawyers.
It'll get done. Nothing like a little time pressure to get the ball rolling.
There is reason to worry
I hate to tell you this, but the other candidates had paid canvassers and they already have all their signatures in .... months ago. Illinois is in real trouble..... we need people to canvass badly.

Im in IL 19th dist and I will ba at this wed-sat AT LEAST.
The campaign needs to send a request to all IL supporters to at least download notarize and mail petition with even just their own name if that's all we have.
everyone pitched in on the mail bomb we can at least sign our own names and send it in.
this is a great idea - send petitions to each donor from IL
They have the donor list from Illinois. If each donor just gets 10 valid petition signatures and gets this properly notarized at a bank, 200 donors would add 2000 signatures.
Everyone's scrambling for signatures
All candidates vying in Illinois are scrambling for signatures right now. I was just at a party meeting last night, and Mitt, Rudy, etc. all had petitions there. No one is done. In fact a Mitt rep. was still looking for a delegate in a particular district.
Illinois has a full slate of delegates/alternates for RP. It's a matter of lighting a fire under people to go out and get the signatures. I have no doubt it will happen.
Get some hired hands on the street...
It's absolutely crazy how much BS is involved in the political process just trying to be a viable candidate. Delegates here, signatures there, dot the I's, cross the T's.............oops, you missed one, you're not on the ballot.
Go ahead and use the raised money for signature gatherers. I don't see much choice. Make haste, and "get 'er done".

Problem in Chicago
I don't know why campagin HQ is waiting for the last moment. We have the same problem in N.J and P.A. Seems like to me Grassroots needs take more respondsabily in some important manners especialy what just happen in Phily. HQ acually changed and booked the event to some insde convetion center 10 miles from Phily on Nov 2 without even comuacateing with the grassroots. We spent time and money for months advertizeing for Indenpentce Hall. We at grssroots hah a revolt ant went to HQ and told them we're having the rally at Indenpendce Hall. At that time Grassroots organized the stage and lights for $9,000 and arranged everthing else in less than 7 days. Campaigan said they couldn't do it because it would cost $80,000 to $140,000. and changed the location to a convention center. Ron Paul spoke at Indenpendce Hall and had the biggest rally so far only because of one reason--------grassroots took charge. We need to do the same all over America and take the Reloveation to the people our seleves. GODWITHIN
Delegates in Illinois
I contacted the ronpaul2008 campaign headquarters to insist that they hire a company to get this done if they cannot get it done with volenteers. I also forwarded this to my meetup group members, in case any can devote the time. By the way, In NY I have the petition, but no names/addy to contact for signatures.

If the campaign has to hire people to do this then they should. I wish I could go to Illinois this week, but I have commitments I can't get out of. I could go next week if someone could put me up.
the problem with that
The other campaigns have already hired all the available paid canvassers to get signatures for their candidates. Since a canvasser can only canvass for one campaign there are now next to none left for us to hire. Up until November 5th we didn't have the money to throw towards Illinois because we are so behind in this state. It can be done but we need all the help we can get.
Actually,
there are plenty of people that could be hired. Come on folks, this isn't $50 an hour type labor.
I exchanged messages with the campaign and I am told that the campaign can use all the help we can give, but they are absolutely looking at hiring help as well.
Too late in michigan
I checked on becoming a delegate in Michigan, but the republican GOP says they are voted in in 2006 for the 2008 election.
The more we get involved in elections and learn, the more one can see how easily they can be corrupted and run by a few..
Not sure how to get around this problem.

Mike's message has gone to everyone in Illinois
Just so everyone knows, the residents of Illinois are well aware of the situation. Both this message and one from Ron Paul himself were sent to Illinois residents.
We need people from outside the state to come to Illinois and help out. While I don't expect people to jump on planes, if you live within driving distance please, please, please get in touch with the closest Illinois Meetup group. They can give you the needed information so you can help out.
