Redistribute the wealth

0 votes

This was just sent to me. I think it is pretty good.

Yesterday on my way to lunch at Doe's, I passed one of the homeless guys in that area, with a sign that read 'Vote Obama, I need the money.' Once in the Doe's my waiter had on an 'Obama 08' tee shirt. When the bill came, I decided not to tip the waiter and explained to him while he had given me exceptional service, that his tee shirt made me feel he obviously believes in Senator Obama's plan to redistribute the wealth. I told him I was going to redistribute his tip to someone that I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. He stood there in disbelief and angrily stormed away. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $3 and told him to thank the waiter inside, as I had decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy looked at me in disbelief but seemed grateful. As I got in my truck, I realized this rather unscientific redistribution experiment had left the homeless guy quite happy for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn. Well, I guess this redistribution of wealth is going to take a while to catch on, with those doing the work.

I'm voting for Obama

Why?

Because of all the anti-Obama posts created by McCain plants.

Go fuck off McCain plants.

Obama = McCain to us ... both are horrible.

What the hell? He didn't say

What the hell?

He didn't say he was advocating for McCain. Why do you think that if he does *not* support Obama, that he *must* support McCain?

Break out of the "one party" system my man! lol They both suck.. and for the same reasons mostly.

I think the OP's post was very insightful and a humorous example of exactly what Obama (AND MCCAIN AS WELL) propose.

Dear Boru,

Vote your conscience,

I believe that Obama is good for the country on an emotional, spiritual and humanitarian level, and he will inspire a lot of people to do something with their lives, instead of depending on welfare.

But, I vehemently disagree with re-distribution of wealth. Nobody ever gave me nothing, I earned everything I got with blood, sweat, and tears.

People have to be responsible for themselves.

Of course, there will be those in our society who truly cannot fend for themselves, and I would gladly help them, but people have to work for a living, and not expect other people to carry the load.

And I wouldn't vote for McCain ever.

news to me...I thought it was a positively brilliant exercise!

absolutely epic, supporter!

Every time when I read

the line 'redistribute the wealth' I automatically read: share the poverty.
That's what it is going to be: those with money won't part with it, those with no money are the most vulnerable...

Obama spells socialism and oppression.

LOL

I'll have to try that the next time I get a waiter with an Obama button.

I wish there was some way I could draft into the Army the next person I see with a McCain button.

Good story

I really think that you ought to go back and give him RP's book.

I love it!

Every Obama supporter is all about spreading the wealth around....until or unless it personally effects THEM. You taught him a great lesson:)

good for

you.

Redistributing the wealth? Ahahahahaha! Fools! There ISN'T any wealth. It's GONE! All freaking gone, boys and girls. All we have is debt.

By the time the next President is in office, the government will be spending a trillion dollars a year that it doesn't have and has no rational plan to get. In fact, both candidates only have plans for spending MORE money they don't have. Higher taxes won't do it. That's Obama's big lie. Cutting waste won't do it. That's McCain's big lie.

The only course is more and more inflation. We couldn't raise interest rates and stop inflation even if we wanted to because we can't afford to service our outstanding debt at anything like natural interest rates. We HAVE to keep interest rates low. We HAVE to keep pumping new money into the economy. We HAVE to continue to pretend that we can create money out of thin air and acquire wealth with it. Until the system collapses.

There will be no redistribution of wealth. There will be redistribution of poverty. And there will be PLENTY to go around.

Perfect! No one understands until it hits them in the pocket!

Someone in our local RP

Someone in our local RP meetup group sent this out just the other day. Pretty good depiction of the wealth re-distribution system in action. Always works better on paper...

Good one

What a dummy the waiter was for wearing that shirt anyway.

Ha ha ha, that's funny man!

Ha ha ha, that's funny man! wow, I would have laughed my ass off!

I think that redistributing wealth is a bad idea, but I do think that people who make more than like 20million dollars a year(arbitrary figure mind you) should be required to give back into society. . .but that raises many questions about who would regulate that, etc and I'm not gonna touch that, but it's very clear that the imbalance of wealth is creating huge problems for us. Not the middle class wealth, because that's where we want everyone to be imho(no poor, no elites, varying levels of "good enough to get by" an up), it's the Upper-Upper Class that needs a hacking. Then the waiter can have some, too! ;-)

I think there is definitely

I think there is definitely something to be said for our monetary system in regards to the wealthy getting wealthier and the middle class disappearing. Our "elastic" currency has allowed the federal government and the banks to behave in ways that benefit the rich... Ways that wouldn't have been possible if we had an honest money system.

As always, we need to focus on the cause, not the symptom.
