Does Anyone Know If We Can Wear Ron Paul T-Shirts to the Polls (if he is not on ballot) ?
Submitted by artistsforRP on Wed, 10/29/2008 - 17:07
I am thinking I will wear my Ron Paul Revolution shirt to vote for
Chuck Baldwin ... since Ron isn't on the ballot - it shouldn't be viewed as polling or whatever - because he isn't even a candidate -
am I right or wrong .... and either way - I probably will do it!

What if you wear a t-shirt that says: "DON'T VOTE FOR
McBama?" Yes, that's with the question mark. It would be hard to prove one way or the other. How do you interpret that question?
Love (consciousness) is in everything including the void.

So When...
... McBama and O'Cain go to vote at their local precinct, do they have to wear a paper bag over their heads? If anyone sees their ugly mugs, wouldn't that be like advertising for themselves? Just asking.
What if you tattooed www.dailypaul.com on your forehead? Could they make you laser it off :-)
If they try to f with you
tell them you can't afford to change your shirt and that you didn't know that there were poll taxes allowed.

If you fall over and pretend to croak would they assume
you were impersonating McCain, and therefore consider that to be "electioneering"?

”You Can’t Wear That to Vote”: The Constitutionality of State Laws Prohibiting the Wearing of Political Message Buttons
Abstract
My research for this article began on Election Day 2004 when I was told that I could not wear a campaign button into the polling room while voting in Virginia. The article outlines the laws of all 50 states that restrict a voter’s right to speak in and around polling places. It focuses on the 10 states that explicitly prohibit a voter from wearing “buttons” to the polls.

Nice research
I'm in MD. Think I'll wear my: DON'T BLAME ME, I VOTED FOR RON PAUL t-shirt (courtesy of the NY City Meetup group). Thanks for the idea.
That reminds me
I meant to put my "Pat Paulsen for President" button on eBay.

i'll take my chances - no one there may even know who he is ....
they might think it is a band .... lol
I'm in VA
and wondered the same thing. If you are in VA and wear your Ron Paul shirt, be sure to let us know what happens.
(I voted absentee so I won't be going to the polls.)
He's not a candidate
There's no way they can tell you not to wear it.

If you had to take it off before voting ...
Would it be a big attaction?
If so, I would say wear it.

A perfectly legitimate question
In Michigan: "Displaying election-related materials at the polls: Michigan has prohibited this practice for decades. It includes clothing and buttons as well as material such as pamphlets, fliers and stickers. You cannot display such items in the polling place or within 100 feet of an entrance to a polling place. If a voter goes to the polls with a T-shirt or button bearing campaign-related images or slogans, he or she will be asked to cover or remove it."
Yes, we have a "Statist" State here.
But I am inclined to wear my Ron Paul Campaign for Liberty T-shirt nevertheless. Screw 'em.
he he lol at any rules that bans something political on clothes
that's just plain stupid
not to mention oppressive
I never heard anything like that before, here where I live, you are encouraged to wear pins and crap like that...
so after billions of dollar on advertising sponsored by corporations and zillions of TV hours by a biased media
an actual voter can´t wear a pin with the name of the candidate he supports...

this is the most retarded question I've ever read
I know they are going communism but common I think we can still wear whatever the hell we want. Just watch for the Obama zombies, they might just tear you apart.
Come to my state
pussycat - and you will see what I mean ....
how bout - you wear one too and report back here on the 5th .... hmm?
I didn’t think of that.
I just voted "public absentee" today. Maybe I should have worn my good old Ron Paul Revolution t-shirt.
To avoid being a liar, I wrote in Ron Paul's name (I told people many months ago that I was going to write his name in on Election Day). Iowa is one of only five states that has no rules for write-in candidates--theoretically, my vote will count. But I reccommend everyone vote for Chuck Baldwin (I was just bound by my word).

I was wondering about this
I was wondering about this myself. I found out that you couldn't wear anything 'political' to the polling booths.
You know
wouldn't it be funny to wear a costume to the polls. Let's see what would a good one be. Ben Franklin carrying a rolled up Constitution. hee,hee
Better yet how about Chew ba ka (sp. star wars). ohh, I'd like to see that. hee,hee

like i said
i didn't make the rules
those rules don't apply in my jurisdiction
so i think each person ought to seriously investigate the rules in their own town, city, county, township, ward, state, precinct, etc. I am sure the policies or laws vary wildly.

sorry
but no political attire will be allowed if your election judge is worth anything. here's why:
let's say someone wears a romney shirt, huckabee button, edwards hat, clinton something. the "reason" is that your attire could "influence" the voters. and if someone walks into the polls considering voting for baldwin, i don't want one of those "signs" influencing their vote.
Hey, i didn't make the rules, i just enforce them. been an election judge for 20 years and want to keep on. and am expecting, for the first time ever, poll watchers. want to do something for the cause? be a poll watcher for a particular group or person. call your elections office to find out who is looking for poll watchers.
so even if you wear our beloved hero's name anywhere, i am quite sure you will be asked to remove it.
