Lesser of 2 Evils -- OBAMA MUST NOT WIN!!!
I've been on this site a long time and have learned a lot from Ron Paul and all the great conservatives on here. We don't all agree on everything, but I think we want the best for our country.
I really wanted to vote for Chuck Baldwin. He has got a lot of great ideas--many in line with Ron Paul. I figured if the Republicans lost that they'd learn their lesson and maybe go more conservative next time. Well, I have re-evaluated the situation and we're in a real pickle. We are ripe (no pun intended) for something really bad happening to our country.
A vote for Chuck Baldwin is about effective as a vote for Mickey Mouse or Captain Kirk. He has never been elected before! Heck, you might as well vote for me or even better yet, Michael Nystrom. Voting for your president isn't always about how much you agree with them or how much you like the color of their skin or what's in between their legs. It should be about what's between their ears and what's in their heart.
I am a realist. Either Obama or McCain will be our next president. The next "Ron Paul" will need to be elected to a lesser office, pay his or her dues, get some national prominence and probably make some compromises along the way ala Reagan. That's reality and it may take a decade or longer.
I voted McCain because I would rather vote for a dumb capitalist than a smart communist. A vote for 3rd party during this election really felt like a selfish act to me.
I found a LOT of folks against Obama on the Nobama Network and I have been pretty impressed with the Hillbuzz blog. http://hillbuzz.wordpress.com. There are a lot of Hillary Clinton supporters that HATE Obama and would prefer voting for McCain than Obama.
Check out Confessions of an Obama blogger and see if this doesn't ring true. Anyone that is familiar with Digg.com would probably see that this post makes a lot of sense.
I've been on this board for a long time (check out my low number.) I realize some folks here are going to feel I'm a traitor to the cause, but I just wanted to offer my 2 cents on the election and how we can have an influence. I already voted early. Almost all Libertarian except for McCain. :-)

A vote for mccain is the same as a vote for obama, they're both socialists. You're throwing your vote away by voting for either of those two whores. the point of voting 3rd party is to a) vote your conscience, and if your conscience aligns with mccain, i pity you; b) to rock the boat and truly democratize our electoral system.

Electoral college maps
Barring any last minute lightning strikes, Obama already has the numbers to win the electoral college vote. If the McBama contest is not within the margin of error in both one's state and the national race, McCain might as well be another third party candidate for all the good your vote will do.
Any vote for McCain sends a message to the RNC that such a candidate is acceptable.

I too will be voting for McCain. I feel Obama is dangerous for the country and if he wins, we may be so far into communism in 4 years that we will never return. The future of our great country is on the line.
