Why did the republican party screw us?
Submitted by Gmartine on Thu, 10/30/2008 - 22:52
This pisses me off... I see all the Obama songs, ads and videos and I can see how inspiring they are..
and then here we are, with the truth and the republican leadership fought the Ron Paul movement tooth and nail with lies and theft..
I am so angry with the neo-cons..... I hope they suffer a huge defeate so that, if it is still possible to save this nation that we use Ron Paul's message to save it in the future...
that is all....

The military industrial
The military industrial complex now runs both parties. Dr Paul is for ending our empire. Obama used to want to end the war but his tuned changed or he too would be out. Dr Paul stands by his beliefs and principles regardless.
That is why he is my President and I will stomp for him till my dying day.
Ron Paul for President however long it takes.
Because the leaders of the
Because the leaders of the party are traitorsalong with the dems and other CFR one worlders and the rank and file are largely sheeple who refuse to wake up.

Taking Over Part II
Breaking news!
It turns out that the Republican Party may be already starting to have remorse over its actions this year. Read this:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/31/us/politics/31repubs.html?...
A repentent GOP could make our job easier.
Taking Over
Think of the Republican Party as a big corporation with many stockholders and a board of directors that has gone mad lining their own pockets at the expense of the owners.
We need to organize for a giant battle at the next stockholder's meeting.
That will be the elections of the Executive Committees and Party officers in 2010. I don't know about all the other states, but in Texas the Executive Committees in each county are elected by popular vote in the Primary election.
Like any battle for control, interested parties need to become stockholders if they aren't already. That means voting in the Primary in Texas.
In the 2008 conventions the forces of liberty were swamped by neocon koolaid drinkers, but at least in Texas the forces of liberty appeared to have about 1/3 of the votes at State Convention, and we did manage to take the reins in some counties.
The struggle in 2010 will involve a goal of increasing our share from 33% to at least 51%. This means all you wimps who don't want to get your hands dirty will have to ante up and join the Party. Also, we have two years to educate the rank and file, many of whom are decent people who are being mislead by current leadership.
It is not an impossible task unless you all refuse to try.
If you refuse to try, you will have nobody to blame but yourselves.
And to those who said we played our tune this year and they didn't dance, I remind you that the neocons have been playing theirs for a lot longer. They worked at getting where they are for a generation. If you are not mature enough to understand that you may need to put in several years, or at least two, to get where we need to go, then all is lost.
Republicans and Dems...
two sides of a counterfeit coin. There was never any desire on the part of Repub faithful to offer freedom to the American people. They anointed McCain over the objections of conservatives and then tried to throw a sop in the form of Sarah Palin. But they would never put her at the top of the ticket unless she surrenders her principles. Whoever wins this election, if its a D or an R, they will bring the same destruction to our Constitutional rights.
SOCIALISM can never be taken back, except by force
If they are defeated this time there will be nothing left to save.
weee
Errrr....ummmm...dude....
despotic socialism is what we have had for quite a while. There is NOTHING about the current condition that I would want to "save",

I think the Republican party
I think the Republican party in name is to damaged to recover. The "Democrats" will see it as the Bush party, and won't vote for them regardless.
A long term fight could save the party, after many elections.
A new party would change things in the short term future. With a message and no connections to either main party's.

It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.

I agree that the Republican walls are much too high to surmount.
Given what is about to happen economically (and probably militarily), and in the face of our tribalistic- "football pool" mentality, there will be an elephant's length memory of the Bush connection attached to a severe reticence to be associated with a party that shot and killed the American eagle.. Screw the Republicans (of which I have been a member for my whole adult life)
I'm all for a new Party.

Yes, Yes, Yes
We would hold their feet to the fire.
We would hold them accountable.
We would identify and root out the corruption.
This should be our Mantra as we retake the GOP. We are the new Republican party who believes in the old values of the republic. We are the real republicians, we are Ron Raul.
We need a strong unified message that we must be committed to, in order to bring us in to the mainstream.

Do you really need to ask why they fear us?
He asked why they screwed us,not why they fear us.
Typical of you to not read the post and answer accordingly. Just like the 9/11 threads eyh?

Stop the NWO....It's just illumi..Naughty !
To be fair...
the Democratic Party 'leaders' also fought against Barack.
What made the difference was Barack's silver tongue and all of the Media Attention he got. After being hyped more than the I-Phone, the Nintendo Wii, and Jesus combined, he won some political contests. That got the ball rolling; other politicians, deciding he was a rising star, endorsed him, giving him credibility, after that his candidacy was pretty much a done deal (though Hillary did put up a decent fight).
Our candidate unfortunately did not fair well in the early primaries (namely because he refused to pander to ethanol farmers and people in New Hampshire thought McCain was 'anti-war'... Oh and the major media outlets didn't run stories on him 24/7). At any rate, after he failed to garner a decisive win early on, the major networks threw Paul under the bus, and the party leadership was free to do whatever they wanted to suppress us.
In the end platitudes won out over prescriptions for what ails our country.
The media chose 'hope' over 'answers.'
Come November 4th we're all going to get the 'defining moment' we've all been dreading...
Now you'll have to excuse me, I'm a bitter agnostic, and I need to go purchase a gun so I'll have something to cling to on November 5th.
I'll let RP's own words...
...from his letter of resignation from the Republican Party in 1987 answer your question:
“Eventually I was elected to the U.S. Congress four times as a Republican. This permitted me a first-hand look at the interworkings of the U.S. Congress, seeing both the benefits and partisan frustrations that guide its shaky proceedings. I found that although representative government still exists, special interest control of the legislative process clearly presents a danger to our constitutional system of government.
“After years of trying to work through the Republican Party, both in and out of government, I have reluctantly concluded that my efforts must be carried on outside the Republican Party.
“I conclude that one must look to other avenues if a successful effort is ever to be achieved in reversing America's direction.
“I therefore resign my membership in the Republican Party and enclose my membership card.” [added emphasis mine]
(Here is the link to RP’s full letter to Frank Fahrenkopf in case you would like to review it: http://www.google.com/search?q=frank+fahrenkopf+1987&rls=com... )
The key information for me is RP’s conclusion that a successful effort to reverse America’s direction would have to come from “outside the Republican Party”. He knew this in 1987 and that’s why he resigned from the Republican Party and soon after that (1988) he ran as the Libertarian Party presidential candidate which, of course, was an effort to reverse America’s direction from outside the Republican Party.
So, was RP’s conclusion about the Republican Party in 1987 right? Just a few weeks ago in his third party coalition press conference he said:
“The strongest message can be sent by rejecting the two-party system, which in reality is a one-party system with no possible chance for the changes to occur which are necessary to solve our economic and foreign policy problems.” [emphasis mine]
Isn’t he saying essentially the same thing? Draw your own conclusion but for me he is still saying the same thing he did in 1987.
And the GOP's blatant sabotage of RP's efforts to gain the nomination this past year proved once again that a successful effort to reverse America’s direction can not come from “within the Republican Party”.
So the answer to your question why did the GOP screw us it's because they are controlled by the special interests financial elite. And IMO this fact has strong implications regarding the workability of RP's strategy to take back the Republican Party or to try to get it back to its roots. Ain't gonna happen.

I think RP has multiple
I think RP has multiple strategies. He supports invading the two major parties and he supports Third Parties.
It strikes me that both strategies have possibilities too--Congress would be most easily retaken using the two-party system.
But for the White House, we must go Third Party.
And the White House is the most important goal. The Executive Branch runs the country today--separation of powers has been dissolved.

Well
the comment about their NWO is a big one but I might add -
Lindsay Graham of South Carolina - he appears to be the architect of giving the Republican party McCain instead of Ron Paul. I sure hope Graham does NOT win re-election and I believe there is a Ron Paul guy challenging Graham this time.

THAT is the perfect metaphor.

The party cares more about its New World Order agendae than it does about getting elected.
