Should CFL buy TV ADs like Obama

0 votes

This post is not to look back and do the should of, would of, could of, but to look forward and ask if this is something that could work for the Revolution in the future.

Obama spent 4 million to do his campaign infomercial and reached about 33.6 million people with the half hour spots.
Source: http://www.newsday.com/services/newspaper/printedition/frida...

Ron Paul raised 6 million in one day that could have paid for this type of Mainstream TV time. Even the money left at the end of Ron Paul's campaign, around 5 million, could have paid for a nationwide TV spot.

How much more might have been raised to do more TV after, and keep it building on itself?

This also would give the opportunity to talk about real issues without the filter of some talking head asking questions that have nothing to do with the real issues.

So my question is: How many would contribute to a half hour Nationwide Prime time TV spots for the Campaign for Liberty in the future? Not just for a election campaign, but as a way to inform/educate and build support.

Maybe a half hour about the Federal Reserve and the economy.

I have also posted this at Break the Matrix and Ron Paul Forums for discussion.

What seperates us is the unlimited bags of money...

Once we get them, RP is a shoe-in!

IF you could get a REAL

Why not hire a professional

Why not hire a professional broadcaster and a news staff, and start a Web TV network?

I think it'd be a good idea

I think it'd be a good idea for the C4L to make ads focused on specific individual issues... explain the basics, and then direct people to the website, etc.

Maybe once a month

a different issue each month 1/2 hour or hour ads. make it a regular thing whether there is a election going on or not. kinda a monthly TV program.

I'd say that ad is pretty well done, very professional.

But, that's what money buys, a good ad.

However, the content is ignorant, here's a quote from the video:

Time 4:40 - "A few weeks ago, we passed a 'Financial Rescure Plan.' It's a step in the right direction."

- Barack Obama

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

TV - great. But what

TV - great. But what networks would air the message of freedom?
If it doesn't pass their litmus test for evil you'll just get buried right?

IMHO The only way as we always come back to, is if someone at the very top of one of the stations was game, or if a Daddy Warbucks started a network for such a purpose.

Torn, but No.

I would donate for an effort like this. However, it's a mistake to put too much into propaganda when our message of Liberty is involved. I'm actually pleased that Dr. Paul didn't just rush out and spend all of (our) his campaign money. You know campaigns are like mini-governments they are inneficient and they make silly things like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30yxHqSUva8 !!! ("He's catchin' on, I'm tellin' ya!)
Don't get me wrong, I think that commercial is probably as effective as any other silly commercial...and those people--bless their hearts, were all supporters---probably reading this forum!

What I'm focused on is starting Campaign for Liberty (Young Americans for Liberty) activist groups on college campuses. I think now is the time to hunker down and train our supporters about the political process of canvassing and all those boring details. As well as hosting debates and fun things like movie nights and documentaries.

I think that would be an excellent idea, a good way to spread the message of liberty the many voters that don't use the computer/ haven't heard our message. There are many voters that fall into this category and can't stand the choices put in front of them,Let's let them know that there are other options!

Liberty cannot be sold to those that don't know they're slaves.

Saying freedom is popular is about as effective as saying Muffy is popular. The American public for the most part is dumbed down and conditioned to fight each other in this false left right paradigm.
It is going to take something much more creative and powerful than a 30 minute "Campaign for Liberty" infomercial.
I gave 2300.00 to see something like this happen,BEFORE the primaries. Sorry but I just can't see the use at this point. Several million people tuned into this Obamamercial because they had been conditioned to by the MsM.
I don't think the results would be as favorable for the CFL or RP. I could be wrong.

Yes they are conditioned

and programed to respond to certain words and images. Tap into that and you don't need to deprogram them as much as lead them in the right direction. They are sheep waiting to be herded in the direction the message tells them. WE just need to use this fact to our advantage just as the 2 parties do.

One of the best ideas I heard

was to do a massive money bomb, and send a copy of Freedom to Fascism to every house in America. Send them to the troops as well. I would support something like this.
Figure if there are 300 million people in the USA and 1 million voted for RP.out of those 1 million maybe 100,000 people that are hard core enough to take action. What is that like 3000 people each we'd have to wake up?
We have a lot of work to do.

I think we need

to start doing something. People need to hear our message over and over, just like they hear about everything else on television these days. Most Americans still get their info from t.v.. They have become brainwashed. So why can't we brainwash them with freedom!

I Agree

We need to use the techniques of the media to "brainwash" people with our message. TV is still the most effective means to get a message out or to sell a product. Our product is the Constitution and our message is Freedom. We do not need to reinvent the wheel.

If CFL did a donation bomb fund raiser earned 4 million dollars

I believe 4 or 5 million spent on a national billboard campaign for CFL promoting its web site and Ron Paul's message with Ron Paul's picture and name on all billboards would do a lot more good than waste it on TV that the reporters would not give much if any coverage.

Liberty is our campaigns gift to the world it is our manifest destiny.
Freedom is a movement who's time has come. Our campaign will lead to world wide freedom.

No....

The CFL should do what I suggested to Ron Paul's incompetent presidential campaign almost a year ago, which is provide downloads of pertinent videos and post links (as does DAILY PAUL) to others. Buying mainstream media time feeds the enemy, giving them money and credibility.

not now

Yes, I hope they seriously consider this. In addition, hope they have newspaper page for download so that grassroots can continue on their own funding place of these ads in large newspapers. Still need to reach the off the web audience.

I think the campaign for

I think the campaign for 2012 should start immediately.
In 1824 the people campaigned for Andrew Jackson to be president in 1828.They wanted change and back then you had to commit to it for years.
Discuss it with everyone, vote for, campaign for the candidates that uphold the constitution. When 2012 comes around the president will be a third party candidate.
If and i hope when the cfl announces that this campaign continues, everyone that can, should donate to spread the message to all.
