that Nader is only telling part of the story.

Yes Israeli AF fighters clearly ID'd Liberty who was fully marked and flying US colors.

Yes the Liberty was a listening ship designed to spy.

Yes she was in international waters off of Egypt and Israel.

The first group of fighters hit Liberty's comm attennae with ordnance which is designed to knock out comm.

The issue with the planned attempt to sink the Liberty with all hands was that the radio techs on the Liberty had established a patch comm with sixth fleet within 10 minutes of of the strike.

This was a BIG problem for Israeli Basecom and this is why...the Liberty got message to USS Saratoga which was about 400 miles away that the Israelis were trying to sink her.

Evidently there was a lot of planning in progress in this attack with high level US involvement which you can study.

Bu this is what screwed up the entire day for LBJ and the Israelis.

Captain Tully of the USS Saratoga (was out of the loop) and ordered the launch of 12 assorted attack aircraft including A4's and four tankers implying he intended to maintain air cover over Liberty for an extended period.

Then the stories are mixed. LBJ/McNamara recalled the fighters and the attack on Liberty continued, but then ended. Israeli intelligence was listening to everything ALSO and were concerned with "non aligned" elements of the USN kicking their asses.

So the bottom line is that the plan was to sink the Liberty, supposedly to blame it on the Egyptians and then nuke the Egyptians. As Marine escort was witnessed following ordinance to F4A's on the other Aircraft carrier present that day the USS America it is assumed that without the efforts of Liberty to reestablish comm with fleetcom this is what would have happened.

Do your own research and keep in mind there are plenty of lies. The crew members are pretty much on the money so make sure you read all of their info thoroughly. I personally know crew from both Saratoga and USS Davis who was the first USN vessel to arrive in support of Liberty.

Almost 200 casualties in this "mistake." Israeli AF units, Israeli Naval units and Israeli army units in helicopter gun ships all with a US flag flying in a moderate breeze accompanied by her hull numbers...a mistake.

The Israelis were NOT attacking Liberty because she was listening to her communications. They intended to sink her with all hands based on their OBSERVED BEHAVIOR...do your research...Nader is only telling part of the story.

Would Obama be the lesser of 2 evils?

I think Obama will plunge this country further into trouble - just in a different direction of trouble than McLame would. Obama has already taken actions against freedom of speech and shown partiality towards known terrorists and Islamists.

Methinks the US will go the way of the UK under Obama (as with the UK's failed multi-culti policy and the problems they now have in society with "infidel no-go areas", preachers of hate, and homegrown terrorism).

Unfortunately, the independents don't have the numbers yet to take an election. So it seems we are gonna be stuck with one of the two aforementioned turds.

However, since an Obama win is looking "in the bag", so to speak, if he doesn't perform the miracles his blindly adoring deciples expect, then hopefully, perhaps this country may finally see the light in the independent candidates next time around.
