Ron paul has endorsed Michael McCaul!!!!!? What's going on!?
ok Guys i'm worried now.
I received an e-mail from Ron Paul congress. And he endorsed Mike McCaul, a war-mongering Texas congressman. Can we send Dr. Paul an e-mail asking him if could stop endorsing these horrible candidates.
Here is the e-mail:
Dear Supporter,
I want to ask for your support for a fellow Texas Member of Congress, my friend and colleague Congressman Michael McCaul.
Michael McCaul has always stood up with me and other conservatives to fight for what's right: less government involvement in our lives and protection of our individual liberties. He is being targeted by the National Democrats who have given his trial lawyer opponent over $100,000.
Please visit his website www.MichaelMcCaul.com and make a contribution to make sure we keep good Members like Michael in the Congress.
----He has been there every step of the way fighting the Trans Texas Corridor and co-sponsored my bill H.R. 5191 to prevent any Federal funds from being spent on the TTC.
----He voted no to tax-payer funded bailouts for Wall Street.
----He offered real leadership in the fight against Nancy Pelosi to lift the ban on off-shore drilling.
I need Michael McCaul in Congress with me to contuniue our fight against the TCC and more giveaways of your tax dollars to Wall Street Bankers.
Please make sure to vote on election day for Congressman McCaul.
In Liberty,
Ron Paul

Well if we get an Obama Presidency than
We need as many Republicans in office as we can get. But this time with Ron Paul as their leader.
Sometimes you have to play the dirty game of politics. But in doing so Ron Paul will get a lot more friends and allies to propose legislation and get it through
Man was born to be free and independent
Jesus
The thing that gets me about McCaul is Iraq, the whole thing but foremost the nearly 2 million dead. Anyone with any instincts knows that it was a fraud, especially if your sitting right on top of it there in the house. It's morally bankrupt plain and simple, completely and totally morally terminal.
Maybe it's just me but it bothers me, almost as if I'd done the killing.
I find it hard to accept that anyone anywhere with the exception of a sociopath could endorse such a thing as well as agree to fund it. Dissassociating mentally from what it means to be human. Think about the Nazi that killed so many innocent people, men women children?
It's that mindset. That is what I think of the people in Congress and the Senate sometimes. That's not America folks that is a foreign evil trait and has no place here. As far as i'm concerned these people are guilty of complicity at the least. How can you rehabilitate for the sake of political expediency. You can't. The idea on it's face is ridiculous. We tried people at the Hague after WWII for less and they were executed. The traitors here brought over 4000-5000 german killers during operation paperclip (look it up) Bush JRs Grandaddy was funding Hitler through Harriman Bros in NY. These elite have funded both sides of wars they've started for the profits to be made. In my estimation these republicans aren't republicans they are neo socialsits, not any different from Hitler and his bunch. Socialism doesn't include rights for the people, it has a central bank and it kills millions of people and makes the rich ultra rich. That is what is happening now. That is why Bush Co can break laws with abandon, give trillions to lieing Fed Reserve criminals, lie to Congress with abandon without even a censure..WAKE UP GUYS..These people ideally should at the very least be jailed for derision and act of treason.
The militias are booming if your smart you'll buy some ammo. When the laws no longer apply what choices do you have?
Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow
Think about it,
how terrible the war is, it was NOT McCaul that made the decision to go to war. He was merely following the orders and majority opinion in the GOP. Only 6 GOP congressmen voted against the Iraq-war. Does this mean Paul should worked to get them all kicked out of congress, or should he rather concentrate on the issues they agree and work towards persuading and influencing them?
Some RP supporters make the mistake in equating everybody that voted for the war as a neocon, which is NOT the case. The neocons. are rather a small influential group, that dominated foreign policy especially in the Bush admin. Paul also mentioned many GOP congressmen actually agreed with him about the Iraq war issue, but went on to vote along with the party line and they probably believed the info on the WMD in Iraq. McCaul may regret in secret his decision. Also think about it, Victor Bugliosi mentioned a few months ago that a conservative, pro-war GOP congressman from a Southern State heard the audio of his latest book about the prosecution of Bush for murder, and was shocked to hear and agrees with Bugliosi, his conscience is bothering him, gave the info to several of his collegues, working on his re-election but want to work with Bugliosi on the Bush issue directly after the election. McCaul may be one of these people...
agreed
Ron should think twice before endorsing a man with blood on his hands.

"How can we justify to the unemployed and underemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire?" - Dr. Ron Paul
He voted against the BAILOUT
He did not abdicate. For me that is very significant.
I am in agreement with many of these comments.
We are not in Washington like RP is. Therefore, we do not know what sort of horrors may be unfolding over there. I am EXPECTING that there will be many members of congress who will be waking up to the truth. RP is the logical person for them to turn to because he is all about the truth. We need to trust his judgement.

This isnt the first time
I agree with Ron Paul on practically everything...except for most of the people that he endorses. He also endorsed Tom McClintock who has a voting record that is way outside the realm of liberty.
I can kind of understand that he has 'slim pickins' to build a coalition, as mentioned below, but I dont like or support many of these candidates.
People on the DP are constantly saying or implying that Ron Paul should endorse every person you ever vote for and if your vote outside of that you are a horrible Paul supporter. In fact, I think that we all should have learned enough from Dr. Paul to make our own decisions in the voting booth. There are tons of candidates across the US who are just like Ron Paul, but we cant expect Dr. Paul to find, review, and endorse every one of them. Don't be mindless drones, think for yourselves...thats what Dr. Paul really wants from us anyway.
Consider the fact that, because of the Revolution and Dr. Paul
Many politicians are realizing the admiration we all have for men of principle, and they are beginning to realize Dr. Paul is right and they can also see he is right about the Constitution.
An informed electorate is causing them to rethink their political ambitions---call it Political Peer Pressure! The pressure is on to be a man (or woman) of principle!
Ron Paul probably knows this man is someone he can work with on many issues, and he will (as many of us have done) be able to learn the importance of a foreign policy of non-intervention--
The man is playing chess
Some allies will surface on their own, like BJ Lawson... Others will require training.
One beautiful thing about the demise of the Republican party is that RP is the only one with a huge base. Maybe RP asked for something in return? Maybe a cosponsor for hr 2755? If McCaul is worth his salt then he'll remember this favor when RP needs him.

"I killed the banks"
He's trying to build a coalition...
I agree with you that some of these guys are a little bit 'meh' but look at it this way: finding more politicians as awesome as Ron Paul is a tall order. Fiscally conservative dove candidates are in short supply these days.
Plus if we're going to try and go 'main stream,' then we're going to have to court and convert people who are have been supporting causes and fighting for issues that we find reprehensible. That's the only way to destroy the two party system.
Applying a litmus test to both foreign policy, and economic policy when it comes to the presidential candidate makes sense; he's running to be the leader of the party, and the country. His positions should be above reproach. Applying the same stringent tests to your local representation, while it would be ideal, is not as imperative.
Since we might hold the balance of power in some areas right now we should try and parley that into some more political clout. If some of these candidates don't shape up and live up to Dr. Paul's and our expectations then we can throw the scoundrels under a bus the next time they're up for reelection.
To be a viable political force, we've got to start converting more folks and candidates, and there is no time like the present. Political turmoil begets political opportunities.
PS. I feel you on the war thing (that's one of my BIG issues) but the fact that this guy voted against the bailout is a BIG plus in my book.
He might endorse him. I suppose he has to make political
compromises but I'm not going to blindly trust his endorsements. He also endorsed Don Young from Alaska.
Free and Brave
or Cradle to Grave
You can't have both
Free and Brave
or Cradle to Grave
You can't have both
Ron Paul has not endorsed Don Young
contrary to the popular news being spread around. Young asked many things of Paul and Paul concentrated on the positive issues of agreement.
This does not mean it is an endorsement.
Perhaps McCaul has realized the error of his way.
And Certainly Dr Paul can endorse those he doesn't agree with 100%.
I agree, if Ron Paul agreed
I agree, if Ron Paul agreed with someone on 9 out of 10 issues, does that mean Ron Paul should not endorse that person because they are not 100% with Ron PAul on every issue? It is difficult to find a candidate who agrees 100% with Ron Paul on everything. Even with Chuck Baldwin, he had some different views than Ron Paul, but Ron Paul still saw that Chuck Baldwin was close enough to his own views to endorse him.
Agreed!
Agreed!
Many of us look at Ron Paul
Many of us look at Ron Paul as the perfect example of how the politicians in Washington should be conducting themselves. Not all politicians can be perfect or the best that they can be. But, they can be good or even very good. Maybe it takes time for some to really learn and understand what they ought to be doing.
There must be some reason why Ron Paul believes in Michael McCaul. I don't know anything about the guy, but what I do know is that I believe and trust Ron Paul.
I'm sure that holding our ground is just as important as making advances. Could it be that Michael McCaul's opponent getting into office would be a complete loss for our cause?
For those of you who know better, is McCaul really that bad?
...
Ron Paul is genius. Building his own CFL Machine. Gotta Love it!

You have to wonder about some of these endorsements
I'm sure Dr. Paul has a good reason for some of the endorsements he makes, although many of them are real head-scratchers. He frequently mentions in interviews that members of Congress who marginalized him for years are now coming up to him asking for his help. Let's trust him that he can win more votes for liberty in exchange for these endorsements.
If you're really concerned, I'd remind you (and this may come as a shock to some DailyPaulers) - you don't have to do everything that Ron Paul tells you to do! I think McCaul was Badnarik's opponent in 2006. Be sure to vote LP this year against Congressman Clear Channel.
Its a good thing that warmongers are coming to us asking for help becaue it shows we're gaining influence. Even the uber-militant Senate candidate in Iowa came hat in hand to our CFL leaders looking for support. If they didn't think we were a significant force, they'd ignore us outright. Let's just make sure we get some real gains in policy in exchange. Don't become like the Christian Coalition that can dominate the GOP grassroots but gets only lip service from GOP candidates.
Ya know -
Ron Paul knows what he's doing. They are not all made in RP's image - so ya ick your battles and support where you can find them

Ron Paul is building a coalition
It is what we all need to learn to do. So, he's a war monger? Well, would your rather have a war monger Republican who:
----He has been there every step of the way fighting the Trans Texas Corridor and co-sponsored my bill H.R. 5191 to prevent any Federal funds from being spent on the TTC.
----He voted no to tax-payer funded bailouts for Wall Street.
----He offered real leadership in the fight against Nancy Pelosi to lift the ban on off-shore drilling.
Or a war monger democrat who believes in none of the above?
Dig?
Ron Paul
Is the general now follow his orders. But most of us dont like orders or we would not be here. I know I dont like authority, thats why im always in the middle of trouble. Not that im a bad guy. I was brought up be a rebel
Um..I'd rather have neither.
Um..I'd rather have neither.

I do understand your
I do understand your sentiment but when Dr. Paul sets such a high standard of integrity especially on such a pivotal issue like Iraq it is a little disappointing.
But one thing I learned from RP is that all this grows organically. Freedom is popular and John Culberson and Mike McCaul are no friends of fried and I don't think OUR revolution will support it. I still support RP though don't get me wrong.
I was a warmonger a year ago---
Most people are---we were brainwashed into thinking that is how we support the troops and be patriotic! So I give everyone the benefit of the doubt---it just takes some time to know better.
Me too - ugh
Ya'know the "once you know, you cannot turn back" thing is a bitch. When I started learning the "truth", it was inconceivable to me that ALL people didn't see it. Well, fact is, I didn't see it for 50 years - duh, life is good. Think about when you became aware ... I know some believe they have been aware for decades, but it took Dr. Paul's honesty, courage and directness to cause me to open my eyes. Couldn't this guy have experience the same awakening?
Hey, just cause I "know" doesn't mean everyone has faced the incompressible truth that our government is evil and we are their slaves. It is, after all kinda scary, so why would I think that, they'll take care of me, they always have....
We (and I don't presume to speak for anyone else), but I think we don't cut much slack to those that still can awaken, or are just beginning to awake.

Yeah, I have met many
Yeah, I have met many recovering republican warmongers who now see the wisdom in RP's peaceful(but not pacifist)views, yet still many have not come to see the wisdom in RP's views on foreign policy yet. Its something that will take time and won't happen overnight.
