Really funny.
»

The Naïveté and gullibility was what was funny.
The Naïveté and gullibility was what was funny. There little if any humor in the dialog.
It would we like someone in a rabbit suit coming out telling carrot jokes and someone of prominence believing it was the Easter Bunny. The carrot jokes would not be funny. They funny part would be the idiot who really believed it was the Easter bunny.
How in the world did they get her number?
Not that funny
The humor was too french candian to me.
& Palin ain't ready to be a Gov. of a large state, or one that doesn't get monster revenues from oil, let alone 2nd in line to President.
I always teach my children
that things are NOT funny unless the victim thinks they are funny too. This was a little too, or way too invasive to be funny. And I didn't think she sounded bad at all. I thought she did fine, considering. I could barely understand what he was saying and she didn't seem to have much trouble with it. She was probably wondering if she was being pranked but had to be serious until she knew for sure. Plus this could lead to more of this kind of thing. So while it was interesting, I felt guilty even listening to it. If I had been her, I probably would have looked for the humor in it at the end instead of giving it back to my daughter to feel guilty for not screening better. Also, isn't it only funny if a close friend does it to you. Some random stranger at a radio station taking advantage of his power should be removed from the air.
I didn't think it was funny.
I didn't think it was funny. I thought it was terrifying. How could she be so stupid? How could she be so gullible? Anyone with two synapses to rub together ought to have been suspicious after the first few seconds. Good grief! Prime minister of Quebec? He can see Belgium from his house? Hunting from a helicopter? His "hot" wife? And above all, that outrageous French accent. It was absolutely clear that she was not just going along with the joke. She was utterly clueless for six minutes, until someone in the background told her what was going on. She has a room temperature IQ. With the thermostat turned down.
It is terrifying that the Republican primary process selected a man who selected her.
Edit: Whom am I kidding? First I thought it was hilarious. Then I thought it was terrifying.
Maybe
funny, like beauty, is in the eye, or the mind, of the beholder.
I agree with you
But you take an inexperienced person out of their comfort zone and throw them in front of AIPAC, Kissinger, etc. She doesn't know what is coming at her next. She sounded incredulous to me, but one tries to stay cool until you know for sure. No one said it in the background, the told her directly that it was a prank. I think you are faulting the wrong person, personally. She has been thrown onto a world stage, how would you respond to that? I agree she should not be there, no doubt. But she is trying to remain just an everyday person, accessible, etc. Half of the stuff he was saying took me a sentence or two to understand. He was slurring over his ridiculous statements. You fault the wrong person. But I think Obama is going to win anyway, and then, gee, we won't have to worry about Sarah.
How am I blaming the wrong person?
I blamed John McCain, and the primary process that selected him. It's not her fault that she's as dumb as a box of hammers. Come to think of it, maybe McCain and the uni-party system are not at fault either. I BLAME THE BIG BANG!
The dj is
the one with the problem here. I agree she is dumb, but when was the last time you talked to Kissinger? She doesn't know who is coming at her next. She has been thrown into becoming the next vp-they simply blew her mind.
The DJ did us all a great
The DJ did us all a great service.
We are soooo screwed...
regardless of which treason fighter gets in office.

“We have allowed our nation to be over taxed and over regulated and overrun by bureaucrats, the founders would be ashamed of us for what we're putting up with.” Ron Paul
Tacky
What's to say that this was the real Sarah Palin and not an actress, though?
Would we be laughing if these guys had called Ron Paul and done this?
Sorry, I just hate to see people needlessly humiliated, if indeed this was the real Sarah. It does nothing to elevate the discourse above junior-high level or draw attention to actual issues needful of discussion.
I might have laughed at this when I was in 5th grade. Might have. These so-called comedians really aren't even very funny.

If this happened to RP he
If this happened to RP he would have looked silly (as anyone would) in believing the other person on the line was some one else, but RP would have sounded like RP and not like a dunce. You don't find it funny because it IS sad how insincere and uneducated she sounds. RP would NEVER be humiliated because even though he could be fooled about who he is talking to he never would sound like a complete air head. I know you love her Ron but I'm sorry she is a complete dunderhead!!!
I can't say I love her
only that I honestly didn't find this all that funny. I know a lot of people here hate her, and that's fine. But honestly, I would think this was just as tacky had it been Barry O. or Juan McWar who had been duped. It's just low-class.
I think she just sounded like anyone who was taking a courtesy phone call and trying to be polite.

Naw Ron she sounded syrupy
Naw Ron she sounded syrupy and like a groupie getting a phone call from her beloved rock star. I really do not hate her I just think she's a neo-con version of Barbie.
Ron Paul dosnt try to win favor with people. He's been around
the block. He's the master at disagreeing with people without making them feel stupid- but he never falsley "partly agrees" with someone for the sake of making the conversation more fluid and comfy. Sarah was cooing because she was star struck- and to hear from "the King of France" validates her on a personal level- thats where she got into trouble. Who knows the background? maybe he's refused to acknowledge her in the past- maybe he's insulted her. Other than being tricked and sounding like she honestly beleived it was him, she really didnt say anything that bad. I hope this dosnt go viral- its probably one of the best pro sarah ads out there. If people are dumb enough to be undecided- then this will give her their sympathy vote.

It definitely could work out that way
I didn't think she said anything stupid, either. Maybe I missed it.

apparently her camp has issued a statement
I cant verify that- but it seems to be real. I would think that it would be bad form for any heads of state to contact her "out of the blue". Seems like there should be channels to go through to avoid compromising security etc. Sure she was naive- but most Americans identify with being made a fool of and dont see the mistakes she made- just that a nice person was getting the jack-around. Honestly I dont care for her at all-but this was the closest to "identifying " with her that Ive come. Her interviews make it easy to laugh at her- because shes so cagey in them. Here she seems so eager to make friends and say the right thing. The average sheep would count this a win for Sarah.

You are right
And besides, if your aid hands you the phone and says some important person is on the phone, why would you not believe your aid?

ouch
nothing like some itchy "leave the nerdy girl standing on the porch in her prom dress" humor. If they could have baited her into being mean herself it wouldnt have ended up being a win in her column.

*snicker*
she's clueless. and yet so many people are thrilled with the idea that she could be VP?
thinking back though, maybe it'd be better that we have an airhead/dumb fascist in office rather than a smart marxist/shrewd zionist. at least they wouldn't get as much damage done.
FUCK 'EM BOTH- '08
I heard it... It was uhhhh...
sad.
I almost feel bad for her.
now that was funny
I bet her assistant will be looking for a new job.
Personally, I think Bart Simpson's prank calls to Moe's
Tavern were about 1000 times funnier and more creative than this drivel.
